Make Up For Ever #420 HD Blush ($26.00 for 0.09 oz.) is described as an “Indian rosewood.” It’s a muted, warm-toned orange with a hint of rose and a satin finish. MAC Modern Mandarin (P, $21.00) is more shimmery, powder. NARS Exumas (P, $39.00) is more matte. Chanel Presage (62) (LE, $38.00) is lighter, brighter. NYX Cinnamon (P, $5.00) is brighter, powder. MAC Ambering Rose (P, $21.00) is darker, powder, more shimmery. MAC Early Morning (LE, $25.00) is a powder product. Chanel Frivole (P, $43.00) is lighter, brighter, powder. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

The pigmentation is rich and intense, so a little goes a long way, but the formula is very forgiving as it is extremely blendable–not just when it’s in its cream form, but as it dries down to a powder-like finish, it can still be blended and manipulated, much like your traditional powder blush. It sheers out readily, but it can be applied more intensely from the get-go or layered for more opaque coveage, depending on what you’re going for. The formula is incredibly versatile as a result. #420 wore well for eight and a half hours on me.

This translated a lot more subtle than I expected. It’s very pretty on you! I tend more towards neutral territory with NARS Altai and Chanel Cheeky. Still, this formula is on my must buy but I’m completely overwhelmed by the shade choices. Last week, I pulled up your reviews but I think I need to swatch my stash to try and isolate my choices.

Christine,
I must disagree with the poster that likes the mixed shades of warm cheeks and cool lips. It does not do you justice.
My preference is similar tones, cool with cool and warm with warm. The cheek I color looked great, nevertheless.
