Make Up For Ever #410 HD Blush Review, Photos, Swatches
Make Up For Ever #410 HD Blush
Make Up For Ever #410 HD Blush ($26.00 for 0.09 oz.) is described as a “coral.” It’s a medium, coral-orange with a satin finish and warm undertones. Clinique Ginger Pop (01) (P, $21.00) is more shimmery, powder. Chanel Intonation (69) (LE, $38.00) is brighter. MAC Autoerotique (LE, $25.00) is more muted, powder. Fyrinnae Nordic Angel (P, $6.50) is more orange, lighter. Illamasqua Sleek (P, $26.00) is darker. Dior Pink Glow Blush (LE) is powder, warmer. See comparison swatches.
This is the other shade from Make Up For Ever’s new HD Blush formula that I tested, and it was consistent with the first shade. It had a lightly creamy texture in the compact that applied and felt like traditional cream blush initially, but after sitting on the skin for about thirty seconds, it turned into a powder finish that was satin-to-matte. The color applied evenly and smoothly, and it was easy to blend and work the color into the skin. It was nicely pigmented, so the color could look true-to-pan if desired, but it was easy enough to apply less or blend for a softer, sheerer look. This shade wore well for eight and a half hours on me.

What did you use to apply?
I used a stippling brush!
I love coral blushes, but I can’t wear them because they don’t work with my pale skin. This is so pretty! Christine, you wear coral perfectly! 😉
What corals have you tried? I’m sure there’s a coral that would work for your pale skin!
I think this one would work well on pale skin, as it is more subtle. If possible, try it in-person. Depending on your overall coloring, you may find it works!
I have Stila Custom Color Self Adjusting Blush in Coral, it is a gorgeous blush, but it looks orange on me, and the blush itself doesn’t look orange at all. It’s kind of the same thing with coral lipsticks, they always make my teeth look yellow, even though I whiten my teeth!
Corals can sometimes do that, unfortunately! Trade offs 🙁
Try the pinker corals? I have pale skin too, and I find Benefit’s Coralista works beautifully.
I think that this will be the first shade that I try. I love orange-y corals!
I have to say, though, that I’m a bit disappointed that they replaced the liquid blushes with these. I loved the formula of the liquids and I liked that they had a pump. Frankly, the idea of putting a brush into a cream product freaks me out, it just seems so unsanitary to me.
I like the idea of a pump, but that stuff was sooo pigmented that I don’t know if a pump mechanism is really ideal either. I often used those by putting pumping out product on a metal palette, which is the same thing I’d do with a cream blush in a compact (scoop out a little with a spatula)!
As long as the brush is clean, I don’t find it any less sanitary than with any other product you’d stick a brush in, particularly if you do it repeatedly.
Beautiful! I’d love to try it.
It would be beautiful on you, Rikki! Very fresh.
Oh my gosh this one is even prettier than the other one!
Oooh, nice!
Hi Christine,
Will you be reviewing other shades? I am interested in black currant; not sure if you’ve reviewed it previously =)
Hi PaoPao,
I only tested these two shades, sorry! If I end up trying more, I’ll probably post!
Cool…thanks for the quick reply! =)
This is beautiful! I think this is the shade I’m picking up!
Awesome! Perfect for spring & summer!
Pretty shade! Since I have a lot of similar shades including Intonation and Autoerotique will try a diff shade from the range!
Good call, Vineetha!
I love the cream to powder effect – its like what I find with the Chanel cream blush I have. I love cream formulae, but I actually don’t really like an openly dewy finish, so it’s perfect for me!
This one looks pretty 🙂
YAY! I find these formulas easier to work with, too!
The swatch looks a little bit like MAC modern mandarin, but in the pan it doesn’t. What do you think Christine? Thank you.
Hey Fabiola,
Modern Mandarin looks totally different to me – brighter, more intense, and shimmery! http://www.temptalia.com/mac-modern-mandarin-blush-review-photos-swatches
Okay I’m so getting this! Thanks for the review Christine 🙂
Oh and I have a question for you – I’m NC42 in MAC and just starting my eyeshadow collection. Could you recommend a few must have MAC shadows for my skintone? Thanks!
What kind of looks are you going for? Should they work together?
It’d be great if they work together! I don’t mind neutrals or colours as long as they aren’t too wild or in your face! Thanks!
What a lovely shade – I’m a fan of cream blush formulas and it looks incredibly promising! A little surprised to see that it’s a tad bit more expensive but has less content compared to Clinique’s Cheek pops! Makes the decision a little hard!
It seems like cream blushes sometimes have less product (by weight) than powders!
I thought it looked more thai Chanel Presage, rather than Intonation..:)
Presage is darker and more orange in comparison – I actually used Presage and #410 when I was comparing formulas!

This looks beautiful on you! The formula seems to be really good. I can’t wait to check these out!
Thank you Fancie!
These are so lovely! And both the shades you reviewed are gorgeous on you. I still keep looking at the selection and just don’t know! A really pretty collection though. So appreciate you doing even the two! I love too many to believe.
Thank you so much!
I can’t get over how plush and gorgeous all these shades are, like the original HD blushes, I would find it hard to pick a favorite!
That’s the one problem with MUFE – they release so many shades at once, lol!
I love how warm it looks in the swatch though it seems to go pinker on your cheeks. Gorgeous color!
It’s such a nice shade!
Oh that looks very nice on you! The formula sounds really nice!
Thanks, Erin!
I just got this color today. I am so in love with it, the finish is just perfect. I really hope that you get to review more colors. I hear that you can contour with one of the other shades, do you recommend a color from this line?
I’ve only seen two shades, sorry!
Can it be spring yet I am ready to bust out in corals!
Do it now 😉 Who cares about seasons!
Tried these in Sephora recently & passed them up that day for Chanel’s Intonation, but only because it’s limited edition & these are not. I’ll definitely be going back for at least a couple of this new MUF formula. Same amount of product as Chanel’s cream blushes, really nice quality, but significantly less expensive. I just hope they blend, build up & wear as nicely, because Chanel’s are absolutely perfect. Really don’t want these to be a letdown.
I ended up returning all of my other MUF HD blushes in the pump packaging after I discovered ELF’s ridiculously great dupes for a mere fraction of the price, which I got on eBay at even cheaper than retail. Not sure if ELF even sells these anymore.
It’s interesting that they don’t quite like Chanel’s, but the end result is very similar.
