This is BY FAR the most excited I have been for a makeup collection in a long time!!! I’m filled with antici…pation! Rocky Horror Picture Show is a Halloween staple for me, and I will definitely be picking up several pieces from this collection. I can’t wait for swatches Christine!!!

Andie Avatar

My heart is now broken. The closest stand alone store is almost 2 hours from me. I can’t swing that on a Thursday. *goes and pouts in the corner*

Do you think a LE MAC collection based on Rocky Horror is a good enough reason to use a sick day?

My other option is to stay awake and online for 24 hours the day it is set to release online.

Columbia’s message to MAC LE Collections: “You chew people up and then you spit them out again… I loved you… do you hear me? I loved you! And what did it get me? Yeah, I’ll tell you: a big nothing. You’re like a sponge. You take, take, take, and drain others of their love and emotion. Yeah, well, I’ve had enough.”

xamyx Avatar

Perhaps you can call the nearest free-standing store & place a pre-order? I remember being approached in the past for upcoming collections, although I never wanted to commit myself, although I thought about it for the Artificially Wild collection. It never hurts to ask!

gabis Avatar

My thoughts exactly. The sad thing is that it’s all they have been doing lately in most collections in what is regarded to packaging.
The colors look promising though. Hope the quality is good despite the awful packaging.

Kesha Avatar

I’m not super into Rocky Horror although I like the movie, I wouldn’t ever sings songs or anything. The packaging is quite lazy and the color story very pointed toward certain skin/eye combinations. I was hoping there would be something “warmer”. I think Blonde people would love this whole collection.

Ginny Avatar

Oh my God. ::covers face with hands:: I’m probably going to end up with all the lipsticks (maybe skipping the amplified one). Sin has been on my try list for a while, I think this is my sign to get it. Between this, the new Nars, and exploring Buxom and UD Revolution based on Christine’s recs, I’m probably working with a 15+ list of “must-have” lipsticks right now. Oy.

Mariella Avatar

Nothing here to interest me but I love the idea of this collection (not too sure of the graphics…I think they could have done better). And as much as I loved my Greasepaint Stick (in Dirty), I will never buy another one unless they promise it in a formula that doesn’t go bad quite so quickly. I think mine smelled really vile within about 6 months (and that was with pretty light use – it actually did smell like the old, rankly stinky theatre greasepaints – just awful).

Nicole Avatar

Two of my favorite movies had makeup lines released this year (Pulp Fiction from Urban Decay and now Rocky Horror from Mac). My poor bank account…

That blush is gorgeous, I hope that eyeshadow palette lives up to its expectations, and I might have to invest in one of those red lipsticks because you can never have enough!

TheOtherHelen Avatar

I really do not like the packaging which is too bad because those lipsticks look like they have potential. I buy mac products all the time because I like the limited ed packaging (alluring aquatics for example) so I feel justified skipping packaging that I feel is horrible.

Marta Avatar

I haven’t been excited for a mac collection in ages.. But the rocky horror is my favourite thing ever…. I want everything!! Hope the reviews will be nice!

Rachel P. Avatar

I am WAY into Rocky Horror, so this is a dream come true!! First UD does Pulp Fiction, now MAC does this… everybody’s making some pretty devious collections this year!

Kitty Avatar

When I read about this I screeched out loud and physically felt my wallet wince. I’m glad there are several repromotes as I couldn’t afford the whole collection!!

I will be getting It’s Not Easy Having a Good Time and Crazed Imagination and.. well, I like the look of the Riff Raff palette but I’m very wary of eyeshadow palettes from MAC nowadays so I will need to see swatches first and how many shades in that are new. I will also be getting lipsticks but not sure which as I’m not sure how accurate the promo shots are! I’ve been after the sculpting duo in previous incarnations too so that is a possibility.

I’m just pleased this is released near my birthday! I think even if it turns out the products are poor, I want a compact and a lipstick case to transfer something else into just for the packaging and I NEVER say that o_0

I just phoned my husband and asked him if his wallet hurt :p

Erica Avatar

I have my eye on the Frank N Furter lipstick and the Bad Fairy nail polish. I would love to see a campy 60’s collection honoring the fabulous Divine and John Waters. They were very popular during the same era as Rocky Horror.

Nicole Avatar

It’s just a jump to the left. . . This brings back many happy memories for me – I watched this movie many times with my friends back when I was in high school. What a fun idea for a collection!

Aline Avatar

I never go in for limited edition stuff from MAC, but I love RHPS and all those lipsticks are my favorite shades. I’m probably getting all of them.

Kari Avatar

even though those kinds of lip colors are my weakness, i think i’m going to skip this collection. i do have a lot of those kinds of colors that i’ll probably never use up anyways! the only other thing i’d like is formidable, and that’s perm so. not a big fan of rhps. i’d rather save up for that brooke shields palette!

Ciara Avatar

Can’t wait!! I want two of the lipsticks! And it comes out online on my birthday, I hope I can get them!
But when will you get a hold of some of it for swatches?? lol

Elizabeth Avatar

Bad Fairy is a re-promote. As is most of this collection. Not sure really anything but maybe one item hasn’t been around. Repackage what sold well in the past. No much thought needed for this collections.

Estefania Avatar

OMGGGGG. I have such fond memories of Rocky Horror from when I was in high school, so this collection is unfair to my wallet!!! I’m going after the darker nail polish, red pigment, at least one lipstick, and maybe the palette once swatches come along…. Oh, and a couple of things for my Rocky Horror obsessed best friend!! 🙂

Helene Avatar

The pigment looks interesting. Pity this collection will only be in MAC stores and online. I like trying the lipsticks. I hope you get the collection so we’ll see excellent swatches and get the reviews. Without that I’d rather not buy unseen so to say.

Kaytlyn Avatar

omg i am beyond excited!!! I watch rocky horror picture show religiously on Halloween… and possibly like every day for weeks before hand… by far one of my favorite movies and i can not wait to pick up the Frank-n-Furter and Oblivion lipsticks, the Crazed Imagination blush, Bad Fairy nail polish and the It’s not easy having a good time pigment! I gave myself a 100$ budget and I’m just under it so I can not wait till september 29th where i can wake up at 6am make sure I get my order in and then wait every day till i get the products in my hands!!! YAYYY!!!!!

Lotus Avatar

Hello, darling Rachel! Might I please inquire as to if you got the shape and scupting duo? If so, fo you also have Charlotte Tilbury’s Filmstar Bronze and glow? I have this mac one but I’ve not tried it yet, was talked into it and really wanted Ct’s but the $65 price stopped me. I’m trying to locate anyone who has both who can possibly provide information pertaining to comparison as well as pros and cons with both. Thank you! 😀 Muah!

Ember Avatar

Sweet! So far this is my fave collection of the year. I can’t wait to try the lipsticks. If the stores are going to play the music from the film during the launch, I’m going to have a hard time not doing the Time Warp.

Alexis (m0rg3nst3rn) Avatar

I had a feeling that this was going to be full of repromotes and permanent items. How sad?! I’m so not happy about being right.

Rocky Horror has such a cult following and so many areas to draw inspiration from. I’m not sure about it, but, maybe I’ll find something to get just because I love Rocky Horror so much.

Brenda Avatar

Great theme!! Love Rocky Horror and Bad Fairy represents well for the theme!! Would like to have seen maybe a beautiful royal blue in the shadow palette, maybe a cyber silver lip or something with more of a nod to the characters Riff Raff and Magenta, or even something softer for lips for Janet?
But, I still may make the 45 minute drive to my closest freestanding store 🙂

Courtney Avatar

Although I haven’t seen the show, I understand other’s feelings regarding the packaging. I personally loved a lipstick from the Playboy Bunny collection ages ago (bunny pink) which I held on to long after my lip brush had scooped out the last remnants. I still wish I held on to the packaging, but I like that MAC has the recycling program, so I had to part ways with it. That being said, the highlighter/bronzer or contour duo looks promising. Looking forward to the swatches Christine, perhaps there will be more surprises in store 🙂

Carissa Avatar

WOW! I’m really surprised how well this turned out! I think it strongly represents the movie in the best way, i’m recognizing colors that i can identify with the movie. Mac usually misses it when it comes to movies, but this one i think is spot on to the theme of the Rocky Horror Picture Show.

naesynae Avatar

Sculpt and Shape Powder looks interesting, nail polishes intriguing and the lipstick colours all look nice, but that packaging graphic is actually scaring me, just a little!

Shana Avatar

Ridiculously excited for this! I’m a huge RHPS fan. None of these colors are very “me”, but I will have to get some things for packaging alone lol. I wish they did more NPs, I can only imagine all the names! I’ll probably be sticking with Strange Journey, Crazed Imagination…and probably FranknFurter for the name alone!

julia Avatar

My best mate adores Rocky Horror, so naturally I linked her straight away. I might wait for reviews before picking anything up though…………..But I did that for The Simpsons and it was all sold out 🙁

Dusty Avatar

When I first heard about this one I cried. Because MAC can’t leave anything good in the world alone. They just have to take everything wonderful and give it the backdoor treatment. Mark my words! I’m tired of people posting about it. It’s a horrible collection with too many permanent products and the new ones… Carbon Black? Really?! Ugh. People I follow have been posting about this all day. I officially hate all of mankind right now. It’s so lonely being right all the time… heavy sigh 😉 LOL

Kitty Avatar

The Carbon in it makes me weep too Dusty! I’m still buying some of it because well, Rocky dammit, but I just know they’re going to disappoint me!

You’ve been very quiet on YT, hope you’re ok? 🙂 (real life is more important that videos btw, that’s not a nag to supply me with videos! I genuinely wondered if you were ok as you’re one of my favorite YouTubers! <3 )

Alexis (m0rg3nst3rn) Avatar

I said the same think Dusty.
This collection is a majority of permanent and repromotes.
So much more could have been done with this collection.
I’m not surprised though…I think MAC is lacking in the creativity department.

xamyx Avatar

I may look into pre-ordering the blush & the pigments… I’ve never been a fan of the movie (although I’m a huuuge fan of most of the cast!), but some of the shades look interesting & unique. I’m also eyeing the sculpting duo, but I have plans to order the separate pans in a few weeks.

Nikki Avatar

Ooh, I’m excited for Oblivion and Frank-N-Furter lipsticks. 🙂

I got that same contour highlight duo years ago in the DSquared collection. It was a good sheerish contour for a (pale) beginner, but I think I’ll go with the Taupe blush out right now as I think a cooler color is generally better for creating realistic shadow. I’m never wild about the highlighters sold in duos. I prefer to choose my own separately.

nueyork Avatar

I’ve been a bit “meh” on the MAC collection front lately but this one is super exciting! The colours of the lipsticks are super stunning.

summer Avatar

oh maaaannn. After unsubbing from MACs email list literally five minutes ago (have been very bored with MAC for a long time) MAC have just sucked me back in again with that BLUSH. I go weak at the knees whenever a plum blush is mentioned… sigh….damn u MAC LOL

beck Avatar

I like Bad Fairy I have a full bottle
somewhere..its a great pedicure shade.
The blush looks like
it could be promising.
The collection is a skip for me,
i’m just not a fan of the packaging
or the movie. The lips logo grosses me
out, it tends to remind me of the creepy
serial killer guy in Silence of the Lambs.
Yikes not a good thing! Major pass for me
sorry MAC!

Stefani Avatar

I don’t usually type on these things, but I am DISGUSTINGLY excited for this. I don’t think I’ve been this excited for a collection. EVER. I’m more stoked for this than I am for the holiday collection (Which I’m really not a fan of the packaging /:)

Andie Avatar

I just called my closest MAC Store (Metairie, LA) which is actually a couple of hours away from me, and they said they haven’t received the collection yet. The woman I spoke to said they usually get the collections 2-3 weeks in advance. She also said she has called around to other stores, and it doesn’t look like anyone has received this collection yet. I don’t know if there’s a production problem or what, but I definitely want to make sure I get my hands on this! If anyone has any updates or knows any additional information, let me know!

Rojda Avatar

I can’t wait till this goes online next Thursday here in Scotland! I just got my pro student discount card will I be able to use it on this collection? I know most le collections don’t but it’s worth a shot!
