I’m actually so excited for this!!! Her music is pretty good, but I really love her style, so I’m anxious to see what’s going to come with it!

This should be interesting to see this collection come out. Being that Lorde rocks the dark look and this collection is coming out in June, well into Spring. I’m curious to see the colors.

What!? New rule… at least collaborate with someone who has been in the industry for more than a year. I like Lorde but I there are other musicians I’d like to see them work with. I’m starting to feel like MAC is just making lots of collections with celebs to cash in on their popularity. They are doing more collections like this. I’m just not loving these hyped collections where you have to wait for an hour on the website to get a lipstick.

totally agree!!! On a side note, hopefully it’s a color that flatters more than one skin tone…. Hayley Williams collection was sweet but I felt it was aimed at fair complexions and the under 22 crowd.

Again, gimme some Gwen Stefani up in this B!

Gwen would be great! She likes stronger colors that would flatter a lot of different skin tones. Pinks, reds, golds, silvers… that would be fantastic. I’m just tired of the vampy matte lipsticks. MAC needs something new.

When I saw your tweet on this I gasped. I’m soo excited! 😀 I hope I can get that lovely purple lips she’s always sporting.

I’m not all that excited about this. I find it strange that MAC is doing a collection with someone who seems to be a flash in the pan – previously, they’ve done collections with icons like Lady GaGa, Cyndi Lauper, Rihanna. Lorde? It may sound harsh, but I don’t have high hopes.

I’m so excited for this! Hope there are some brights in it… Not just vampy shades 🙂 I’d love to see Marquise D’ or Innocence Beware show up as well!

Part of me is excited about this because I love Lorde and vampy shades. But the other half of me is kind of expecting this to either be a complete flop or just unflattering on me. Mac hasn’t had the best track record with collections I’ve been excited about.

I really do not think that Lorde was a suitable candidate at ALL. As a goth, I love vampy lips, and shadows, but MAC needs to step their game up. She makes decent music, but she’s really stuck up and has barely even got into the music game. She’s had, what, 2 songs on the radio? She’s kinda unique, but what about the actual ICONS? Madonna, Gwen Stefani, Beyonce?

Liv Avatar

It’s quite insulting to call Lorde a “flash in the pan”… She has sold so many records worldwide… Funnily enough there are more countries in the world than the US!

This will be an amazing collection and I bet it sells out VERY fast

this is either going to be really freakin awesome, or complete trash. no inbetween. I love love LOVE Lorde’s dark vampy lips and black as night fingertips and would LOVE to see how her look translates to mac products, and if they actually incorporate a lot of her personal style into this collection then it will be absolutely rocking. but if they are just using her as a face for a new lot of makeup that was gonna be released anyway, and none of the colours/products actually relate to her style much, then I will be sorely disappointed.

Not impressed. Not looking forward to this or the Kelly Osbourne collection either. After the entire YEAR of Rihanna, I’m really done with their celebrity collaborations. Quality LE collections, please. No need for celebrity attachments.

I like Lorde’s beauty style so this could be interesting…but I agree with everyone that she’s not exactly iconic or established and there are other celebs I feel would be a better fit…but she’s young and is going to appeal to teenagers and young adults so that’s probably all MAC cares about.

Feel like it’s too soon for a collection by Lorde, i wouldn’t exactly call her an established artist. I would love a Gwen stefani collection. but if they want some one darker why not Alison Mosshart or Free Dominguez , omg! Karen O could be really cool

Seriously MAC? I have yet to see Lorde look well and put together, or even flattering herself when ever she goes to award shows. Her makeup always seems unflattering and it makes her look much older. Plus, there are so many other well established music artists MAC could have picked. Beyonce, Gwen Stefani, Christina Aguilera, Mary J Blige, or Alica Keys just to name a few. I don’t have high hopes, but we’ll see what happens.
