MAC x Jeremy Scott Collection for Spring 2018

The Details

Hailed as one of fashion’s last true rebels, Jeremy Scott creates decadent high fashion from American cultural obsessions. With a fanatical following of pop music’s biggest icons, the irreverent designer provokes and pushes into fashion’s outer limits. Scott’s collection for M·A·C introduces manic colour for eyes, lips and cheeks specially packaged in cheeky tribute to the days of mixtapes, boomboxes, new music and unhinged creative expression taking root on city streets.

Whoa! This is definitely overall very creative, from concept, to packaging, to layout of products, and colour combination. It’s definitely a fun collection!

I both love and hate the packaging. I like the cassette and boom box thing and I get wanting the pans inside to look like the… I don’t know the word for it. But I hate that there is all that wasted space where more pans of product could have gone.

I’m really surprised at the prices on these items- I was expecting them to be more expensive. The packaging is so unique and Jeremy Scott is a massively influential designer. With cosmetics prices always going up it’s refreshing to see such an affordable, but still unique and immaculate, collection launch. Let’s just hope the quality is there!

I love the outer packaging, but I hate to see all that wasted space! They could have achieved the same look by placing the shadows differently and saved so much space/had more product.. Might get the cheek palette tho

Alecto Avatar

I think the only way they could have gotten the look they wanted was to have wasted space. I don’t see how they could have achieved the same look with all the spaces filled in (unless they had 25 pans of black or very dark grey eyeshadow).

OMG, flashback of the ’80s!!! Such cool packaging and colors. I’m eying that eye shadow palette -it’s $75. and there’s some wasted space there, but love the colors and packaging!

Holeigh Avatar

Never heard of the guy, but this packaging is super fun! That face palette is calling my name…even though I swore them off because no matter how much I love them I always reach for my individual blushers and highlighters.

I love the packaging but I’m not a fan of the actual cosmetic items. Seems like the pans are quite thin on the cheek palette and perhaps the eyes too (maybe it’s just the angle).

The packaging on this is awesome! I have a Jeremy Scott Adidas jacket and I will be buried in it! If only Mac didn’t sell in China!….

MAC products are sold in China where testing is required by Chinese law. So, for the purpose of commerce in China, MAC products are tested on animals. Some people that go cf don’t have an issue with testing overseas. It’s a personal choice for me. I feel that if a brand is truly cf, then they won’t sell where their products must be tested on animals. But I certainly respect someone’s decision to buy or decide differently.

Yasss!!!I love Jeremy Scott and this collection looks so promising. This is the first time in a long while that I’m actually excited about a MAC limited edition collection?

Kat Avatar

Yay MAC for thinking outside the box and actually catching my eye with something so unique! Glad to see them starting the New Year with such an inventive collection, it gives me a good feeling for 2018 collections to come.

Alecto Avatar

I don’t know anything about this guy, but I think MAC finally stuck the landing on this one. That packaging is astounding. I’m sure the wasted space in the palettes will irritate some, but the way they turned the wells into “levels” is pretty neat. 🙂

Coolest makeup packing ever!!! I just might blow my entire February beauty budget on this, but at the very least I will be getting the face palette. Thanks for the infopportunity Christine! I think this is launching Feb. 8

Macy’s and Bloomingdales have this collection online now! I’m loving the look of that eye shadow palette, the colors are so me! Hope the quality is good. MAC makes great lip stick palettes too, but I have 3 that I love and need to use up. Interesting collection!
