What’s Swatch Saturday? I can’t always review products with full, in-depth reviews, but sometimes, I can at least give you photos and swatches, and then also provide a link to dupes and comparisons for those interested! This also helps us to build up our Swatch Gallery and add even more entries to The Dupe List, which can be helpful to readers at any point.

I had never paid attention to haux before! Looks so pretty in your swatches.. the kind of color I’d go for!
I feel like colors like Haux look “boring” in a way – they get lost against blues and greens and all that on the display, but they’re real workhorses.
It’s absolutely great for crease!
Haux and Shale look nice! I’ll get one of them the next time I B2M.
Yay! 🙂
Hey Christine, the dupes for Haux are missing from the post. I only noticed because I like that shade so much. Love these warm purples; thanks for posting!
Fixed! Thank you for catching that 🙂
Gee, I wonder which one you like the best. Lol.
🙂 It’s realllllllyyyyy old. One of the first eyeshadows I ever had!
I have Vibrant Grape and although it’s a gorgeous colour I find it very, very stiff, almost impossible to get out of the pan! Is this a problem that anyone else has had or have I just got a dud?
I have two and one is better than the other, but it’s not a great, great shade or anything.
Vibrant Grape has always been a difficult shade to work with, such a nice purple though!
Some of MAC’s more matte shades are a total PITA!
Stars n Rockets and Vibrant Grape are beautiful!!
Those are two faves!
Would you say that Stars n Rockets is like a warm version of UD grifter, or am I very much on the wrong track? I’m trying to see if I can justify getting it, but I don’t think I can if it’s too similar to grifter.
Grifter is lighter, cooler, and it’s less of a duochrome. Fishnet is really the UD “dupe” for Stars ‘n’ Rockets if that helps!
Fig. 1 and Shadowy Lady are niiiice! Love the name they picked for the first one, very clever 🙂
Fig. 1 is one of my faves!
Look at that big ol’ pan!
Haha!
I have been looking for a dupe for the Twilight eyeshadow in Bobbi Brown’s Desert Twilight palette from last year since I got it! It was the only useable shade in the palette, but at least it showed me how good I looked in the warm shades of rose brown. Naked3 was too cool, but a few of these shades look perfect. Shale is a good dupe for BB’s Twilight, but to see that Makeup Geek has a color with the exact same name that looks like the exact same color is even better! Her plums may be closer to my perfect shades than MAC’s are! Thank you for your reviews and your dupes! You found my dupe and introduced me to a new and less expensive line! Now I just need a dupe for the bronzer that came in the same collection. It was called Bahama Brown when it was a blush,, and it is a mauvy brown as well. When swiped on my hand, the blush is not that different from the eyeshadow – I may find a match amoung MAC’s eyeshadows for my beloved blush/bronzer!
I tried to hunt for one for the bronzer shade of Bahama Brown, but pretty much everything that came particularly close was LE, but here were the ones I could think of: http://www.temptalia.com/swatch-gallery?sg=164315,140883,140481,125386,90816
Kevyn Aucoin Natura is the only non-LE, but it is going to be noticeably browner and warmer. Chanel Cheeky is the more recently-released LE but is a cream product and doesn’t have the same shimmer as Bahama Brown.
So strange, on my cool toned nw15 skin Haux comes out as a neutral and Shale is a total different, very cool mauve.
I find shades like Haux definitely can lean one way or another, depending on skin tone as well as what you pair it with.
Yes, purple eyeshadows are one of life’s pleasures. Fig is one of my workhorses. Thanks to you Christine I fell in love with Stars n Rockets. I see from that pan that you still love it too!
Haux and Shale are really nice. I’m not sure I could get away with them but they are not so warm that I wouldn’t consider swatching them.
I like shale, and of course Stars n Rockets 🙂 Seems like you might be quite fond of that latter shade too, hm? There’s almost more pan there than shadow 😀
Yay for purple!
Love me some purples! I have vibrant grape , Haux looks interesting.
i may have to grab haux next time i go to mac… it’s definitely one of those that you never eyeball, but it looks like i would use it all the time for blending!
More lovely choices! 😀
Stars N’ Rockets is looking super nice
Stars n’ rockets is well loved, I see. 🙂 It’s a great colour!
Haux is a great crease color. I need to pick up a new one soon! Shale has been on my mental wishlist for a while, but I think I will pick it up in time for autumn, since I think I will use it more during the cooler months.
Ooh…that amazing vibrant grape…wud love to play wid this one….
Stars and Rockets looks very loved! Yet again that I curse having blue eyes.
I wish they had this in a palette! It would be perfect!
