Makeup Look: Warm Neutral Eyes with Bold Red Lips

The inspiration behind this look was to pair warmer neutrals with a bold, rich red lip. I also wanted to try using a sheer black gloss over red, and the neutrals in bareMinerals The Nude Beach Eyeshadow Palette seemed like a good way to start.

Eyes

For the eyeshadows, I used shades from the bareMinerals The Nude Beach Eyeshadow Palette. I started by applying bareMinerals Nude Beach Eyeshadow to the inner third of the lid and lightly diffused towards the middle of the lid. Next, I applied bareMinerals Tan Lines Eyeshadow to the outer third of the lid and lightly blended it towards the middle of the lid. I patted on bareMinerals In the Buff Eyeshadow on the middle of the lid between the inner and outer thirds of the lid. In the crease, I applied bareMinerals Santorini Eyeshadow and blended upwards about halfway between the crease and the brow bone. I lightly dusted bareMinerals Pure Eyeshadow on the brow bone to highlight. For the lower lash line, I applied Marc Jacobs Blacquer Highliner Gel Crayon on the waterline and slightly on the lower lash line, but I primarily used bareMinerals Skinny Dip Eyeshadow to accent the lower lash line.

Face

I mixed two shades of Guerlain Parure de Lumiere Foundation with half of a pump of Kevyn Aucoin Celestial Skin Liquid Illuminating Emulsion as my base. For blush, I applied Becca Guava Beach Tint on the apples of cheeks. I set with Urban Decay Naked Loose Finishing Powder.

Lips

I applied Dolce & Gabbana Scarlett (602) Classic Cream Lipstick on the lips, and then I applied Smashbox black Tied Be Legendary Lipgloss on top with a separate lip brush.

I love such posts, it’s so nice to see how you combine different products.
It’s an amazing look, I’m especially in love with the lower lash line, the light lavender is such a nice color and looks so great on you!

Love this look; you look great! I especially appreciate the incorporation of colour on the lower lash line with a bold lip; I’ve been trying to think of ways to combine those, and you did it perfectly. I’m going to have to try to recreate this look!

That was exactly the pigment I first thought of and how much I love whites that shift! They are SUCH a great change-up, like you said! A palette of just those shades would be so fun! 😀 they also really seem to lean the eye towards white for a flawless effect that pops the red lips and natural neutral freshness equally. Beautiful! 😀

Lovely and balanced look (as another poster said)! I love BareMinerals eyeshadows, even for subtle looks. I’ve noticed you have been using the UD powder a lot lately Christine, you must really like it! I remember a time when in so many of your looks it was always the Laura Mercier setting powder that you used!

The boldest lip I’ve worn is coral. I’m not brave enough to wear anything bolder… I love neutral eyes though! It’s so easy to pull off by everyone.
