Makeup Look: Warm Neutral Eyes with Bold Red Lips
bareMinerals The Nude Beach Makeup Look
The inspiration behind this look was to pair warmer neutrals with a bold, rich red lip. I also wanted to try using a sheer black gloss over red, and the neutrals in bareMinerals The Nude Beach Eyeshadow Palette seemed like a good way to start.
Eyes
For the eyeshadows, I used shades from the bareMinerals The Nude Beach Eyeshadow Palette. I started by applying bareMinerals Nude Beach Eyeshadow to the inner third of the lid and lightly diffused towards the middle of the lid. Next, I applied bareMinerals Tan Lines Eyeshadow to the outer third of the lid and lightly blended it towards the middle of the lid. I patted on bareMinerals In the Buff Eyeshadow on the middle of the lid between the inner and outer thirds of the lid. In the crease, I applied bareMinerals Santorini Eyeshadow and blended upwards about halfway between the crease and the brow bone. I lightly dusted bareMinerals Pure Eyeshadow on the brow bone to highlight. For the lower lash line, I applied Marc Jacobs Blacquer Highliner Gel Crayon on the waterline and slightly on the lower lash line, but I primarily used bareMinerals Skinny Dip Eyeshadow to accent the lower lash line.
Face
I mixed two shades of Guerlain Parure de Lumiere Foundation with half of a pump of Kevyn Aucoin Celestial Skin Liquid Illuminating Emulsion as my base. For blush, I applied Becca Guava Beach Tint on the apples of cheeks. I set with Urban Decay Naked Loose Finishing Powder.
Lips
I applied Dolce & Gabbana Scarlett (602) Classic Cream Lipstick on the lips, and then I applied Smashbox black Tied Be Legendary Lipgloss on top with a separate lip brush.

A beautiful look, Christine! I especially like the color on the lower lashline.
Thanks, Agata!
I love such posts, it’s so nice to see how you combine different products.
It’s an amazing look, I’m especially in love with the lower lash line, the light lavender is such a nice color and looks so great on you!
Thank you so much, Elle!
I love that lip color! its so brick-red-little-brown-lotssa-shine! gorgeous! 🙂 The eye makeup is enhancing your eyes so well without taking the attention away from the lips! I am going to try this on me! 😀
Thanks a lot, Divya! Hope you can like it on you 😀
Your lips! They look amazing *_* I wish I could look as good wearing red lipstick.
You’re glowing here, Christine. *_*
Thanks, Anna! Pfft, I bet you look even better 🙂
I love red lips on you!
Aw, thanks Fancie!
Love this look; you look great! I especially appreciate the incorporation of colour on the lower lash line with a bold lip; I’ve been trying to think of ways to combine those, and you did it perfectly. I’m going to have to try to recreate this look!
Thank you, Alla! I hope you can try it!
Such a gorgeously balanced look. You look lovely Christine.
Thank you! 😀
Love the eye makeup. You are really glowing here, Christine!
Thanks, Lily!

Thanks a lot, Rikki!

Aw, thanks LRW!
Beautiful look!
Thanks, Myra!
The Bare Minerals Nude Beach collection is on QVC and I immediately thought of your previous review (lol). This look is classic and one of my absolute favorites. Rock it girl!
Aww 😀 Thank you Erica!
I really love the gloss and lipstick combo you used in this look.
Thanks so much, Erin!
Your lips look amazing! And I love the combination with the eye makeup:)
Thank you, Lina!
Pretty as always 🙂 Kind of randomly, I really loved your description of your foundation routine…somehow reading about the alchemy of other people’s complexion makeup really intrigues me! ^_^
I used to hate mixing, but though I hate having to buy two shades… I love that you can adjust the match to work with whatever your coloring is that week or month. I always wear SPF, but even so, I can tan quickly if I’m outdoors for awhile!
Your brows are always on point! Bold lips are the best lips!
I love bold lips! They can be so powerful 🙂
Nice your eyes are just right for a sexy shiny red lip look!
Thanks, Denise!
You look gorgeous, Christine! I love the eyeshadow palette on you!
Thank you, Carolyn! 🙂
I like these colors on you! Softer yet dynamic! The way “skinny dipping” shows up on you, does for you what MJB Highliner in Obey-ge does for me! I LOVE thst light lavender ON YOUR COLOR! Skinny dipping looks tremendous! 😀
So jealous! 🙂 Skinny Dip also reminds me a lot of MAC’s Pink Opal pigment but not as metallic (which is a nice change-up, since it is still a pop but not a POP!).
That was exactly the pigment I first thought of and how much I love whites that shift! They are SUCH a great change-up, like you said! A palette of just those shades would be so fun! 😀 they also really seem to lean the eye towards white for a flawless effect that pops the red lips and natural neutral freshness equally. Beautiful! 😀
I have never used Bare Minerals. I have always wanted to try the shadow though. Are the shadows as good as they say? I need a shadow that lasts long and doesn’t crease..
I really love the Ready (pressed) formula! I’ve only used a few of their loose ones, but I prefer pressed in general!
A beautiful look!
Thank you, Helene!
Lovely look!
Thanks, Anne!
Beautiful! I am so tempted to pick up The Nude Beach palette.
Thanks a lot, Danielle!
Lovely and balanced look (as another poster said)! I love BareMinerals eyeshadows, even for subtle looks. I’ve noticed you have been using the UD powder a lot lately Christine, you must really like it! I remember a time when in so many of your looks it was always the Laura Mercier setting powder that you used!
With some basics, the last-new-that-I-loved sits out for awhile, so I tend to go for that. When I put everything away once the mess on my counter has reached crisis status, then it’s like trying to pick a favorite child!
The boldest lip I’ve worn is coral. I’m not brave enough to wear anything bolder… I love neutral eyes though! It’s so easy to pull off by everyone.
Neutrals are great 🙂
Beautifull look dear.. I love the ay you do your lowerlash line.. so precisely defined! 🙂
Aw, thank you Poo!
