Another MAC cool pink after having just purchased Have Your Cake and Invite Intrigue? Ah, who am I kidding? I’m getting this one too! ha

Marta G. Avatar

That purple looks gorgeous! I might purchase it but I’d need to see some swatches first, because it’s kind of odd that they describe it as ‘cool pink’…

Katherine T. Avatar

Not a fan of Ariana, but the color looks really pretty ( reminds me of MAC Have Your Cake), and it’s for a great cause, so I’m definitely interested.

Rebecca Avatar

Eh, I’m not a fan of her whole image. It’s a little too “barely legal” for me with the stripper shoes and doll sized toys.

Lauren Avatar

Truthfully I said the same. Mac stated the shoot featuring her has “Little Girl Vibes”. I thought maybe I was over analyzing. I’m glad I’m not the only one that realizes it’s distasteful. What’re they really selling? Is this why pedophiles never get the correct sentencing? Is this okay?

Marta Avatar

It reminds me of Alice in Wonderland. Like they tried to benefit from the movie too.
Anyway I love the colors, they are totally me.

Nancy T Avatar

Oh heck yeah, I’m getting these!!! I missed out on Have Your Cake, so this is a no-brainer. Love orchid purples because they actually work on me, is; UD Bittersweet. And the Lipglass looks perfect for a long lasting, nondrying gloss to throw on during monsoon. It and Dej Loaf would get me through those horridly hot, humid days soon to come….bletch?!

Woah! I wasn’t even aware there was a part II. I’ll definitely pick up the lipstick, I’m so in love with this color! I just hope that the formula is a little better this time. Her first lipstick said it was matte, but it actually felt like a combination between the satin & amplified finish. And since dark colors are quite known for moving around, it could have been better in my opinion. But hey, I’m really excited for this and I can’t wait for swatches!

.This is nice I got the last lipgloss and lipstick they did with her 99% of the time when its for viva glam I just buy them even if I don’t love the colours just my way of supporting the cause I think most forget about all Mac dose do for the community as they are too focused on any negativity/controversy that has come up with some of their collections.

How quickly people forget Ariana G saying “I hate Americans. I hate America.” Nah, I won’t be purchasing her products or product endorsements.

Michelle Lee Avatar

I believe she was saying that in regards to an over the top donut that was brought out. It was completely sarcastic. Many kids in America say things like that in a sarcastic manner, especially referring to the overindulgence many Americans take part in. If you were held accountable for every thing to you said as a young adult, I’m sure you would be embarrassed as well.

Deborah Avatar

I have never ever said “I hate America and I hate Americans” and to be honest, in my day we were held accountable for things we said. I was brought up that it wasn’t acceptable to express hatred of anything. I was raised in a much kinder and gentler time. The fact remains, that Grande said that. She is perfectly willing to take American money however.

alice20c Avatar

Yeah, between that and the up-with-pedos public image, she’s a non-entity. Certainly not purchasing anything associated with her.

Veronica Avatar

Her creepy Lolita-esque posturing never fails to make me extremely uncomfortable whenever I see pictures of her. Because when I want makeup, I think a hypersexualized woman surrounded by infantilizing, doll-like objects with a vapid expression on her face.

Alison Avatar

I’m glad to see so many people talking about this. If a makeup company with women as their market can’t put an end to these kinds of exploitive images, who can?

I like the color but not enough to go along with something that is going to make it more difficult for young women to be safe.

Cheyenne Avatar

This image disturbs me a little…not sure why. Also not really a fan of hers at all. It’s been a while since MAC used someone I liked.

AceAces Avatar

Ummmm, yeah. This makes me feel so comfortable and fuzzy inside. Take some autotune thing that calls herself a musician who already infantilizes herself (the ridiculous amounts of hair extensions, impossibly high doll-like ponytail, always with the eye make up that makes her eyes huge etc), channels “underage” so consistently and successfully that seeing her with a boyfriend made everyone feel dirty even though she was not in fact underage, and style and photoshop it to look like she is as smooth as a baby or a plastic doll, and have her pose with pink dollhouse furniture… This is so misguided! That is a highly sexualized image regardless — finger in mouth, sultry bedroom eyes, that posture, obviously those stripper shoes and anklets, and my goodness, even goes as far as her pulling her shirt down to barely cover (and potentially therefore uncover) her privates, and they think this is a good idea to combine with her existing image and kiddie toys?? I usually support Viva Glam but this ad is making me nauseous. How the heck did this get approved?

I never thought I’d think this but, I’ll take Miley being lewd and in your face sexy over this! I’m officially disturbed.

Leslie Avatar

I have no respect for her so, even though the money from this collection will be given to AIDS research, I will not be purchasing anything from this collection. MAC should have chosen a better spokesperson.

Meredith Avatar

As an older woman, I am glad to see numerous posts here by commenters about how inappropriate, to say the least, this ad is. Women and children are being trafficked for sex right now! For this young woman, Ariana Grande, whoever she is, to go along with this for money, notoriety, or whatever is a slap in the face for any woman who takes herself and her dignity seriously. Women have fought for decades and are still fighting to be treated with respect, in and out of the workplace, and to continue on with this type of advertising is just unacceptable in 2016. Enough!

Yolanda Avatar

I really love these two colors I’m definitely going to buy and the money goes to a good cause. To the haters I say, please keep your annoying negative comments to yourself. If you love America so much and want to support America you would not be here criticizing her and instead would be buying this makeup for a good cause to donate to help Americans and people affected by HIV/AIDS.Please get off your high horses people and support a good cause.
