MAC Venomous Villains

MAC Venomous Villains Collection for Disney

U.S. Launch Date: September 30th, 2010 (online as early as 9/27)
International Launch Date: October 2010

A potion to poison, an apple to bite, a spell to cast… Bad never looked so good. A crystal ball of colour created from our favourite Disney Venomous Villains, inspired by the three most infamously frosty, fabulous and formidable of Disney’s dark ladies… and one dastardly Dr. Facilier. Don’t you love it?

A MAC and Disney collaboration to celebrate the dark side in every one of us, in a glamorous sort of way. Who’s the fairest one of all? Four separate mini-collections, in haute animated couture. The incomparable Cruella De Vil and Snow White’s Evil Queen are dazzlingly devilish; Sleeping Beauty’s Maleficent and The Princess and the Frog’s DR. FACILIER, both up to no good on their own. Uniquely designed iconic packaging you will kill for, cunning characters and bedeviled beauties that are so alluring, you can’t help but wonder what it would be like to be one!

Wow! That packaging! So different. I’m sure the products will be great but the packaging totally makes them collectors items!!! What products are your favorites?! I can’t even imagine what I’m gonna buy. I’m starting to save now! Haha, I actually just went into Mac today to get some refills of the essentials (: anyways, great review! Leave it to Christine to put the first & best review out there!

Nicole Avatar

I think I want 2 or 3 things! Strange Potion lipglass, Bite of Apple Blush, and Innocence Beware Lipstick if I like it in stores/after I see your swatches 🙂 Thanks for the promos!

Ros Avatar

Everything looks great! Except for the mirror, I was going to get it until I saw the character on it…would have like to see something from snow white , seems more mirror mirror type….

Wilson Avatar

If you had seen The Princess And The Frog you would not be so surprised to see a mirror with Dr. Facilier’s image on the case. It is perfectly appropriate in the context of the movie, I would suggest heading to a Redbox or Blockbuster and renting the movie prior to making your Mirror, Mirror decision.

Lulee Avatar

okay i was probably the most excited EVER for this collection but the packaging seriously disappoint me. they could have done SO much more but they stuck the faces of the villains onto the eyeshadows. COME ON, lets see some effort people.

Penemuel Avatar

Oh, I think I need all 3 nail polishes now. Darn it, I’d nearly talked myself out of the red, but it’s pretty! Think I need the Maleficent lip stuff, too. *wallet tries to escape*

Sass Avatar

All of Dr. Facilier except for slick back and the pigments.

All of Maleficent.

Heartless and carbon from Cruella DeVil.

Bite of an Apple, Vainglorious and both lipsticks from Evil Queen.

Totally broke!

kp7* Avatar

I alwaysy say i’m going to stop buying for a while, then they come out with collections like this that i just can NOT resist! This will leave me broke as well!!! =)

Hannah Avatar

First of all, great job with these review posts. I’m sure it must have been a lot to handle to get all the posts together!

Next, I have a question: do you have any information on whether these price increases will be permanent (and applied to all other MAC products)? I’m going to be so sad if so! One of my favorite things about MAC is how much cheaper it is than most other department store brands, but now it’s creeping up on the status quo mid-range brand pricing

Christine Avatar

Hi Hannah,

MAC already implemented the price increases. The prices in this collection–as far as I know–are for just this collection, but MAC raised prices on August 1st for some products (e.g. lipglosses and lipsticks are $14.50 now).

Thank you! 🙂

kp7* Avatar

This was just meant to be!!! This collection is coming out on my birthday (on-line date) So i guess I know what i’m asking for! =)CAN’T WAIT!!! 2 things that make me happy, Disney stuff and MAC!

cmferrets Avatar

i love disney and i love mac, but mac should be really embaressed about this packaging-nothing of it screams mac-it looks like something u buy at the disney store ,

and im sorry but the resort life lipgelee is not anything new to mac, it came out w/ lillyland collection.

thanx as always christine for the sneak peak on mac collections.

i cant wait for this collection, fabulous felines and rodarte!

Jazz Avatar

After this and the BOS 3 ( i missed the other 2 ) , Hopefully I will be able to go on a no buy for the rest of the year (EEK !) This is why I didnt want to get sucked into the MAC bandwagon , because its too many products too often. So excited for this collection

sandrine Avatar

Okay, I wouldn’t exactly kill for the packaging. I never liked it. Mac could’ve done a lot better. But will still be saving because I’m liking a lot of these especially the nail lacquers. Thank you, Christine for the advance reviews. You’re my main girl when it comes to Mac launches. 🙂

Daria Avatar

christine, thank you for all your pictures, swatches etc! obviously it took a lot of work! I was wondering if you knew if this collection would be at nordstrom or macys?

thanks in advance!

sophie Avatar

i don’t really get why they put Dr. Facilier in this collection…sure evil + makeup does not always have to be female! but i rahter see scar than that nobudy….i would like this collection more if they had Ursula!!!!!

KARYNA Avatar

HEY CHRISTI HOW CAN I PRE ORDER THEM I HAVE A BELK STORE LIKE AN HOUR FROM MY HOUSE AND THEY SELL MAC COSMETICS CAN I PRE ORDER THEM OR WHAT CAN I DO?

corinne Avatar

Im actually dissappointed that they used that dr facillier and not Ursula from the little mermaid.

Considering the little mermaid was the movie that pulled disney out of the gutter I dont understand why its never shown its due respect.
I would buy the “my dark magic” duo and the “formidable!” nail lacquer.
Still seriously not happy with the exemption of Ursula!

Chloe Avatar

loving the look of this collection ! i am hoping to get heartless , possibly starange potion lipglass and either oh so fair BP or her own devices though i don’t know which one would look best i’m an N1 in mac Face and body and NW15 in there concealers i would also like to know if you are able to back to mac for collections that have special packagaing like this one ?
🙂

Q Avatar

good photography but it can’t make up for the awful, juvenile packaging. Do the folks at MAC think that their fans will buy their products no matter what? It is obvious that they didnt even try to put their own twist on it. Sorry, but I’ll pass. Most products look like little girls makeup. Huge disappointment.

Chloe Avatar

thankyou for all that you do ,and for your really helpful and very fast feedback to questions Christine : ) You are so helpful – a true god send !

Lisa Avatar

hey Christine,

can you please tell me what is this liquid powder product? does it feel cooling on the skin or something? im curious and never heard of that before…

Joanna Avatar

“I’m so excited and I just cant hide it!” Cuella De Vil Lipstick in Heartless looks absolutely necessary for fall. Oooh and Maleficent mineralize e/s duos are both so pretty and not to mention the Nail polishes. I’m on board like Jacqueline about starting to set some cashola aside beforehand…

Jen Avatar

I can’t wait, I think most of it looks great(wish the mirror was evil queen) do you know if you would be able to get some of the products by recycling (back2mac)?

Brooke Avatar

I’ve already seen the collection in person and the packaging is very sleek! I love it! You’ll probably want to skip the eyeshadows except for the mineralized ones, they’re gorgeous! & pretty much everything else is definitely worth getting as well!!

Valerie Brower Avatar

Can I pre-purchase any of these at a mac pro store or macy’s or nordstroms? I love them all!! You do such great reviews and I love your YT tutorials and reviews!! 🙂

Nessababy Avatar

OMG! Ever since I saw word of this in allure mag. I was all excited! Now to see it all I’m just goin crazy!:D I want malifacent eyeshadow and polishes!!!! For ya’ll wsho r hatin on this collection GO hoMe!! Its amazing!:)

Alex Avatar

So Im trying to surprise the wife by buying some of this makeup for her. Can anyone give me some suggestion on what to get . Im trying to spend about 200. Thank you ladies for your help.

Denah Avatar

I think a close dupe for Heartless might be Prestige Lipstick in “hot flame” Idk, the way it looks on the picture compared with what I have looks to be veryyy close.

elise Avatar

I live in Illinois and at least here a lot of Nordstrooms let you pre-order anything that you wish. I just made a huge pre-order myself and now I don’t have to worry about anything selling out as I got it all put aside and waiting for me. However, when you do pre-order make sure you go to the store a day later and check if everything is put aside for you. I always do that. Mostly it is always correct but this time there wore 2 liquid powders and a mirror in my bag that I didn’t order at all. So I am glad I checked that before my card got run. My list is crazy and crazy expensive. What I got was:

Toxic Tale Lipstick, Wicked Ways, Hot House, Strange Potion and Revenge is Sweet Lipglosses, resort Life Lipgeley, Oh so Fair and Briar Rose Beauty Powders, Bite of an Apple and Darkly My Dear Blushes, Eyeshadows in Her After Image, Vanglorious, De-Vil and Vite Violet, both mineralize eyeshadows, all 3 nail laquers, Greese Paint stick in french Quarter, pigment in Brash and Bold and Liquid Powder in Truth & Light. Oh My God, my husband is going to kill me when he sees the bill, it’s way over 400. but at least i have all I wanted all ready for me to pick up without being dissapointed that something sold out or having to get up early in the morning to be first in line at the store.

In 2005 I renewed my vows with my best friend in the whole world 30 years later , Disney at that time had makeup artists who came who only used MAC makeup I have been a fan ever since . In October of that year my buddy had a brain tumor that we are still dealing with but we are still wishing on the star that we can renew again in 2015 MAC should have a deal with Disney to make every Bride as happy as I was on my day that all our dreams came true ! Thank you MAC for making me look as fresh as the day we eloped in 1975. Always will be a fan !

Wow….the items I want including lipstick and blushes are sold out already!!! Do you know if Nordstrom is going to sell them soon or is it MAC exclusive?
