MAC Rich Ground Fluidline Review, Photos, Swatches
MAC Rich Ground Fluidline
A Perfect Bronze for Fall
MAC Rich Ground Fluidline ($15.00 for 0.10 oz.) is described as a “reddened coco with frost.” It’s a subtly red-toned bronzy brown with a soft sheen. Make Up For Ever #14 is darker, redder. Make Up For Ever #12 is more copper in color. Urban Decay Lucky is rather similar, perhaps a smidgen more copper.
I’m so glad this is part of the permanent range, because it’s a lovely shade of coppery brown. The red undertones are downplayed, so it won’t emphasize any redness in the eye, which can sometimes make eyes look tired. Instead, this has just enough sheen to brighten with enough lightness to be an alternative to both black and brown. The pigmentation was excellent–I was able to get a fully opaque line of color in one stroke with the 263 angled brush. It wore for an impressive ten hours when I tested its long-wearing claim yesterday!

Why don’t I already own this? Its so pretty!
I know, right?
This might be the most stupid question ever but can I use gel liners as shadows? The color reminds me of Tom Ford Illicit cream eyeshadow, but using a gel liner sounds more. . .long wearing?
You sure can! The texture is less creamy compared to a regular cream eyeshadow, but they’ll work. I’d say more as a base than one you’d blend into others – just because it dries down well.
I wish you had posted a picture of you wearing it! 🙂 I haven’t picked up this Fluidline yet, because I was worried about the bronze color being too warm near my eyes.
Sorry about that, Marilyn!
Rich Ground is my HG eyeliner. I’m a readhead and it looks so much more natural and less harsh than brown and makes my eyes look bluer. If you’re a ginger, definitely try it.
Yay! Happy to hear you love it, Lee!
Stunning colour! Perfect for fall!
So true, Kelly!
I own and adore Rich Ground. It’s perfect to use with easy neutral looks (which are what I wear mostly)! Glad you own it now as it really is fabulous! I use the 263 too 🙂
The 263 is a great brush! 🙂
Yep!
Is the color similar to chocolate brown pigment? I’ve been looking forever for a cream liner close to it!
I would say this has a lot more copper influence than Chocolate Brown, which I believe is pretty dark brown!
I think this is a bit similar to Tarte’s bronze eyeliner, but I’m not 100% certain. I just bought the “Jewels of the Amazon” eyeliner set – it came with black, bronze, and green – so I’ll check when I get home.
I wouldn’t be surprised – I don’t think it’s a super original shade (I don’t have extensive gel eyeliner dupe memory, LOL!).
Cheaper dupe is Avons Supershock Gel Liner in Bronze Sunsat. X
