Ice Cream Cake, Little Girl Type, Mischievous Mint
MAC Quite Cute Collection: Nail Lacquers
MAC Quite Cute Collection ($14.00 for 0.4 fl. oz.) features three light shades of limited edition nail lacquer. They include: Ice Cream Cake (creamy blue pink), Little Girl Type (creamy pale lavender), and Mischievous Mint (creamy pale blue mint).
- Ice Cream Cake is a darkened cotton candy pink with a strong blue base with a cream finish. I used two coats. It is similar to Essie’s Splash of Grenandine–slightly more blue-based.
- Little Girl Type is a light lavender with a cream finish. I used two coats. It is similar to China Glaze’s Light as Air.
- Mischievous Mint is a bluish mint green with a cream finish. I used two coats. It is bluer but similar in lightness to China Glaze’s Re-Fresh Mint. This is much, much lighter than last year’s Peppermint Patti, and it is a blue-based mint green.
my thoughts on the formula: The consistency was thick but watery–not terribly so, but noteworthy nonetheless. I used two coats on all, because it was difficult to get thin to medium-thin coats because of how the brush splayed out. In all three polishes, the bristles of each brush were a bit wonky, which made it more difficult to get really clean, even coats. I recommend being patient, because the slight wateriness in the formula will cause streaking if you apply before the coat dries down.

Pretty. I want all three.
totally agree i think these colors are great i want them all but i didnt like much of from the rest of the line either
Wow, seems like this collection doesn’t have many quality products thus far. Disappointing.
What’s going on with MAC? Prices have been getting higher, and I’ve noticed a general decrease in quality through your reviews of their newer products and a few visits to the MAC store. Some of their most recent products (I’m talking to you, Cremeblend Blushes!) really intrigued me with images but turned out to be a huge let-down in person.
What are your thoughts, Christine?
Nearly every brand raises prices annually – not just MAC.
I <3 pastel !!
Thx for the swatch !! :3
While I’m going to pass on these, you can’t deny they look adorable together! But…”Little Girl Type”? I don’t get the reference, so it just sounds…weird.
Thank you! I don’t get the name at all. It sounds bizarre to me.
all of these are on my wishlist- as well as Give Me Sun! face powder and lustre drops. Those are my spring mac purchases!
Oooh!I need Ice Cream Cake!!so pretty!:D
i loove the mischievous one!!! sooo bgeuatiful!!
THE NEW MINT!!
L’Esprit by American Apparel a possible dupe for Little Girl Type?
Ah, I’m such a sucker for those minty green colors!
These are pretty but nothing really jumps out at me as super special. When I can buy China Glazes and other brands with tons of colors and finishes for under $5, it makes it hard to pay MAC prices for non-unique shades. Thanks for the swatches! Saved me some money!
I really like the mint and the pink ice cream cake. how close is the mint to chanel jade or essie mint? The little girl polish maybe too light my fav lavender is the one that came out in the sherk collection.
I don’t have those!
One word: stunning!
I’m thinking I want all three of these. My poor, poor wallet!
Mischievious Mint reminds me of Essie Turquoise & Caicos. They may not be exact dupes, but their colors are close enough for me to not buy MM.
i love green one~~i think i will buy it when it comes out:)
Ooooo, see, Mischevious Mint is what I was hoping Peppermint Patti would be. Pretty.
Hmm, I’m kind of torn on these. I think I might pass on all three, and normally I’d be all over the mint colour. It’s just not “doing it” for me for some reason!
Perfect for spring! I want them all!
You have the price listed as $13, but when I placed my Nordstroms pre-order the price for each is $14.50. I’m confused…
MAC just raised prices from $13 to $14, but they’re $14 per the press release and what I paid for these.
lol! That pink is the exact same shade as all the Barbie stuff I had back in the 90’s.
What are the costs?
$14 – it’s listed in the post and the post FAQ, just FYI!
Oh no I want all 3! Can you come up with OPI dupes please? I love their formula
I don’t use OPI, sorry!
Why not? I know you used to review them and I noticed you don’t review their nail polish any more.
I don’t want to support OPI, because of how they threatened bloggers with a lawsuit, didn’t apologize, and at this point, because they told their fans that they did apologize to me – but they never spoke a word to me.
Hey Christine, could you post a swatch comparison of the CG Refresh Mint and the MAC Mischievous Mint next to each other? Thanks in advance! 🙂
I’m not doing nail comparison swatches at this time, sorry! 🙁 I have reviews of both products with photos, so you can always look at those.
I’ll pass on these.
I love the Mischievous Mint!!
LOVE the little girl type. Perfect for spring. Freaky name though.
would you say these are pretty dupe-able? It seem’s to me they are but I trust you more, lol.
Mischievous Mint is coming home with me! I don’t even care if the formula sucks, I’m loving pastels right now.
ooh love the icy mint one !!
pretty, but guess I won´t pay that much, specially when having china glaze or essie…
is Mischievous Mint anything like for Audrey? and if u have for Audrey is this one different enought to need both?
No, it’s nothing like it.
I do not feel like this is very unique at all! China Glaze, Essie and OPI have similar colors for half the cost (actually, a 1/3 if you buy from online vendors). Oh well. I suppose I didn’t need a reason to buy more polish anyways.
the Mischievous Mint Nail Lacquer looks AMAZING!!!
The last two remind me of the Lacey Lilac & Mint Sorbet from Sally Hansen (were $2 at wal-mart).. I have them on my hands & nails right now & comparing them to your swatches.
I love Mischeivious Mint and Little Girl! Amazing! Christine, is there a reason why you don’t review OPI products ? Just wondering, thanks 🙂
wow Ice cream cake and Mischievous Mint are really gorgeous. if i cant find any dupes im gonna have to get at least ice cream cake
I WANT ALL OF THEM!! ughh why are they so expensive?!
Love them all, especially Ice Cream Cake! It’s the perfect girly pink!
I don’t see any streakiness, you should be a hand model your nails always look flawless!
i need this!!!!
Basically my 3 favorite colors… Too bad I won’t pay $14 for a bottle of nail polish…
Can you post a dupe comparison between Mischievous Mint and Chanel Novelle Vague, please?
Vale
They’re not even close – Mischievous Mint is SO SO SO light in comparison. It’s like pastel blue vs. navy blue – not dupes!
Thank you! I’ve already update my order at the local MAC point 😀
I have Mischievous Mint and it is a lovely colour but the brush is rubbish, the bristles are splayed out and it makes it harder to use. MAC REALLY need to sort the brushes out. I know you no longer review OPI but I think OPI Panda-Monium Pink could be a possible dupe or near enough to Little Girl Type but I’m not 100% sure, might be a bit too pink or possibly Lucky Lucky Lavender could work instead.
They all look really pretty!
wow i really love the way u apply nail color v neatly ….n all colors r lovely…!!
wow i love them all definitely want all 3 colors!
Hi Christine! have you ever tried Revlon nail polishes? I’m just wondering how it would compare to “mint”? and the lavender to ‘lilac pastelle’? thanx so much 🙂
I haven’t, sorry! 🙁
These don’t look unique. I have colors in my collection that are similar enough that I don’t need the MAC colors, and they were half the price. I really want to like the Quite Cute collection, but it’s not really working for me. 🙁
Hi
Is mischievous mint sort of similar to Essie mint candy apple ? In terms of lightness in shade and in terms of tone/color .
Thanks ! =D
mint sorbet by sally hanson is a dupe for that mint
Mint Sorbet is totally a dupe with an awesome formula!!!
The pink is like the cutest nailpolish ever 🙂 I MUST have this one 🙂
I just went out and got essie liliacism and painted it on my pinky. I still can’t quite put a finger on it’s comparison to little girl type lol. Let me know your thoughts thanks!
do you know any good dupes for mischievous mint? cuz in canada, this is $17, and i just cant justify spending that much money on a nail polish. opi is more in my price range, though its still expensive at $11
MAC Mischievous Mint looks like an exact dupe for GOSH Miss Minty
Wow, I love all 3!
this almost feels like they bit off china glaze’s up and away collection.
1. ice cream cake=sugar high
2. little girl type=light as air
3. mischievous mint=re-fresh mint.
theyre all soo close.
I bought all three…all pretty colors…Little Girl Type is my fav! Mischievous mint is fun but it looks more like a light teal on me slightly more bluish than what I’d consider a mint to be…and Ice Cream Cake should just be renamed Barbie pink…it’s so pretty and super girly!
On the downside I agree the formula is just not that great and the brush doesn’t help either…I had to use 2-3 thick coats…which take forever to dry!
