So this is different than a paint pot, correct? if so, I’d love to see how it performs… hope it’s more successful than the Big Bounce shadows..

Hey, this is just the feeling I have: this product has been launched before and I saw a girl on youtube like 2 years ago wich filmed the tag “products I regret buying” and this thing was something that she hated because it creases from the first blink and nothing stopped the creassing!! but…who knows maybe now MAC will make a better product (LETS HOPE SO!!)

yes it’s very different than a paint pot. These also came out in winter 2007, some of the same colors. They’re cream based but at the same time, not really creamy. I didn’t like them that much. Think of it as a cream to powder product

This is a completely new formula from what I understand. So I don’t think it’s near the same quality as the first batch they produced. I’m def going to go in and try it out

These little things arrived here in Iceland today and I got to take a look!
They are not really creamy…. Think of a creamier version of the SHADESTICKS! These are crazy good under eyeshadow (just like the shadestick) but they dont pul the eyelid. So basicly, a creamier version of the shadesticks in a pot form.

I put some on earlier and they are so beautiful! One of the best producst from MAC this year….

I’m so excited for these, hopefully they’ll be good quality! They were on a lot of the Runway models this year. I’m especially excited for Venetian Tarnish, but Gold Carbon, Rusty, Red Hot Copper, and Fusion Gold sound pretty too! WAH. They better be less than 20 with tax each! Also, the release date absolutely SUCKS. The day after Christmas? Generally I don’t shop right after Christmas, I just start using all my new presents. Lil’ weird, M.A.C.

Apparently they have, I’ve never seen the originals but my favorite MAC girl had to go to a class about the new collections earlier this week and says they are much much better than the old ones, which even she admits are far from wonderful.

Oh I’m excited! Cyber is what I’ve had the eagle eye out for; Gilded Ash from the last Metal X was my go-to so here’s hoping Palladium is a dupe… Therese be a god! MAC may re release an LE favorite of mine at last.

I had these and loved loved them!!!! There was a training problem with some of the sales floors being utterly clueless about how to use them- pile anything cream on thick and it creases. And remember- any idiot with a camera and DSL line can get on You Tube.

The very good reason to bring these back is that they are a cream type ES and metallic. A color called Gilded Ash was in my opion the coolest eyeshadow color in the history of everything. Except for Nars Outremier. I can’t wait for Cyber, and one described as “metallic Ash”. Palladium! The real name for the Gilded Ash color… And a few others intrigue me too.

These were one color strong statement shadows as I saw th, but I like that look. Big lid, a highlighter, a strong liner. Simple use of powerful colors. I’m assuming the staff will know how to use them and tell us this time! Use a 239 and work it into the color; you may need to rip a dried layer off just like tearing up the surface of a new pressed shadow. These felt wax based (though not actually) and seemed to like warming up.

You need stiff goat brushes and probably several, The Micheals Crafts “Marlenes Mop” is a good tool for the old ones. Because you had four of them lol!
I loved them. Excited for fresh ones!

I totally agree with you about these being awesome and also about the Marlene’s Mop! It’s funny you mention that; I love using that for these…I’m really looking forward to the new ones. I wear them over Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadows as a base and for some reason that combo works better for me than UDPP, TFSI, etc?

I have one of these from the previous launch and it’s awful. The pan dried out in no time. It’s still usable but I have to scrape and dig at it a bit. It does crease if used on its own and I didn’t pile it on either. BUT if used as a base with powder shadow on top, it stayed put for me. In any event, I won’t be checking these out.

This looks…interesting. I really hope MAC is learning from their recent mistakes with “quantity over quality” for releases, because these could be super-awesome or super-fail.

These look great in the photos but I’ll be waiting to see how they perform, given the less than great wear of the earlier incarnation of these shadows. The last 2 colours really appeal to me but I’ll also want to see how close they are to shadows I already have.

I bought a MAC Metal-Cream eyeshadow a few years ago and I had to return it. It creased liked crazy even with an eyeshadow base and after very small amount was applied to my lids. If they didn’t improve the formula, I would not suggest for anyone with oily eyelids to buy this eyeshadow.

I love Metal X shadows. I’ve never really had a problem with them creasing on me; although I know that many people have. Can’t wait to add some more colours to my collection. 🙂

Another collectiom I’m not leaping over rainbows for, the colors are nice but not exactly eyecatching. None of them really make think “ooo thats a color i would really like to buy” then again the collection is for winter so it would be kind of weird to be sporting bright eyeshadow around this time. If they did make it brighter colors it would be something to wear for next year’s spring/summer. soo i would have to give this collection just juging from the pictures a 5/10.

I got this a few years ago in Gilded Ash and I don’t know how to use it! I love the two bottom colors, but if they’re like the Metal-X a few years ago, I don’t know if I’ll get them. I am a sucker for olive green and taupe, though.

I had a bunch of these and loved them! The big problem was MAC never bothered to tell the staff how to use them. Or maybe the lazy swine at MAC in that city couldnt be bothered to talk to customers; but you had to use a 239 and really dig in.
But what a fun product! The day I found these I walked out with four and was war painted like the model is! Really versatile and these colors are just what this stuff should be. The last release had Gilded Ash, arguably the most beautiful eye color ever mixed!
I hope the formula is a little looser for those who won’t make the effort to just dig on in. But this collection will be hurting me badly in the wallet after presents and really, Xmas is a time to invest for the year ahead. All those good deal gift sets. But how many post Xmas collections is MAC doing? Just this and Daphne Guiness may require selling a kidney, lol.

Hey. Do you think these colors are worth trying? I am 14 and i already got a good amount of products in my makeup collection.
I always check if you like the stuff, before i buy it.
Thanks 🙂

I wonder how the texture will be. I liked the Big Bounce eyeshadows, but they were too slippery. I love the Paint Pots, but they dry out really quickly and go on sheer as well. I’m hoping it’s similar to a Fluidline or Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow/Liner.

I have Gold Carbon and it´s not so bad regarding creasing 🙂 I used today without a primer (as UDPP) and topped it with Circa Plum pigment.

It go on sheer as a “wash” of colour on it´s own but is a good base for eyeshadows or pigment.

I tested these yesterday. I don’t know how long they will last on the eye, but the colors are beautiful and the color payoff is fantastic. Metal-X is a sort of cream and very dense, packing in a LOT of terrific metallic coverage. I just applied them with my finger tips, so i can’t say what brushes will work best. I didn’t order any – i went a little wild on the Glitter and Ice collection, and pre-ordered too much from the Daphne Guinness and Naturally collections already – but they do look beautiful – much nicer in reality than in the photos.

I got the sample of Venetian Tarnish (the color I fell in love with) and Rusty (a goldrose color). They creased on me like no other! Even though I really like the colors I won’t be buying them! I’d prefer my beloved paint pots!

Came out yesterday- Totally reformulated! Even I think they’re better! Did they crease? In five hours, but I did my eyes with a Qtip and, oh sweet lord! I have wrinkles in my eyes! They weren’t there before- Thank You Santa.
The pallet is awesome! The colors shift on the skin when they’re spread out. Venetian Tarnish was the big runway color, and it delivers on me! NC 10.
