MAC Alice + Olivia Collection: Dazzleglass Creme Review, Photos, Swatches

Dazzleglass Creme: I.Want.Candy., Sparklicious, If It’s Pink…

MAC Alice + Olivia Collection: Dazzleglass Creme

Three new and limited edition dazzleglass cremes launch on July 8th with the Alice + Olivia collection.  My favorite was If It’s Pink, just because it’s the most wearable on its own, but it would lovely over pinks, corals, and nudes.  I.Want.Candy. is fun, but it’ll take some playing around to find the right combos to use it with.  I would also say that it is a lot more colored than Springbean, which is also a chartreuse-y shade.  Sparklicious is another shade that’s better layered than alone (but more wearable on its own than I.Want.Candy.)

Edited @ 4:10PM:  Added lip swatches & review! 🙂

Dazzleglass Creme ($18.00 U.S. / $21.50 CDN)

  • I.Want.Candy. is a semi-sheer yellowed chartreuse green with green-gold shimmer. It does, actually, impart significant color, given both that it’s green (even though a brand may put an unusual shade out, they often mute it) and a gloss. I don’t find it particularly wearable alone, but perhaps over pinks or corals. Because of the yellowness in the shade, it will pull the yellow tones in your teeth.
  • Sparklicious is a sheer silver and pink shimmered shade. It almost has a milky white-pink base, but it’s hardly noticeable. It’s super sparkly, so it lives up to its name. It kind of reminded me of She Loves Candy Lipglass from Hello Kitty.
  • If It’s Pink… is a semi-sheer brightened fuchsia pink with softer pink shimmer. It delivers plenty of color without being full-on color.

If its pink is lovely on you. Especially suits your skin tone.

The yellow one is like something a 1990s drag queen would wear! I’m sorry if anyone could pull its off its you but its not happening!

Oh ok cos if you had a party, while all the other girls would rush to your beauty heaven I’d head for the massage table! LOL! Yes I like massages more than make-up *ducks*

Omg, I thought your boyfriend gave you a massage, and combined with the makeup smearing I got some pretty dirty images in my head. LOL.

I definitely want all 3. I’ll never use I Want Candy, and I swear I have a bunch of dupes for Sparklicious. I still want them LOL!

Christine, Would you say SheZam Dazzleglass is a dupe of Sparklicious? (Holiday 2009) Also, how do these compare to 2009 Dazzleglass Creme release? I liked them online, but then in person, I just didn’t see any that I had to have. It was like they were too milky for the dazzle to work right, if that makes sense.

Also, what is the size of the DG Creme? Is it the same size as DG? Or is it more like Superglass in size?

If I’m getting ripped off with the weight, I may just have to buy two of If It’s Pink!

The yellow shade, I.Want.Candy is great to layer over any red lipstick and it instantly makes it brighter. This is a tip I got, and tried from a Shu Uemura artist.

If it’s pink looks really good, but man you weren’t kidding that I want Candy will pull out the yellow in your teeth. O___O *avoids*

I’ve never been able to understand what to do with “weird” colored lip products like the yellow one. I’m not really a lip person, and everything but light nude/pinks is scary to me. I’ve been getting a bit more into lip stuff lately, and I love to experiment and try new things. Would it work to put the yellow one over a bright coral to make it more orange? Or maybe a medium-dark cool berry to lighten and warm it up a bit? I’m not really sure how to make it wearable for daytime looks, or if that’s even possible.

AAAaaaahhhhhhiiiim not sure I can get down with I Want Candy… The other two are gorgeous! I’m sure you’ll find a lipstick it could jive with, but if you can’t even, I have little faith in that color. I mean, green? I love wild colors, but on lips, it’s a little sickly.

I am going to find a way to wear I Want Candy. I’m trying to think of how to combine it (without looking like i have Neanderthal teeth). If It’s Pink looks just a little too much like other shades I already have, as does Sparkilicious. IWC is both unique and a challenge, which I can’t resist. thanks, as always, for the review and swatches!

Natalie Avatar

I agree with kfm about I Want Candy. That’s a shade I would buy and work it! because it is so unique. Reminds me of Lure X and Squirt l/g’s.

Not to sound redundant, but I want I.Want.Candy. (seriously, what’s up with these names??). NOW. I’m a sucker for strange colors.

id like to see some of these lipglosses over some l/s combos- can u please do some christine? just so then it may make it easier to see what else we can wear these w/ since some of them are hard to wear alone (ex chartrause)

I would never have expected Sparklicious to be that gorgeous! Thanks for posting the swatches of yet another MAC product I’ve got to rush out and pick up. 🙂
