MAC Magnetic Nude Extra Dimension Fluidlines
There are three shades of MAC Fluidline ($16.00 for 0.10 oz.) in the upcoming Magnetic Nude collection, which launches in-stores and at-counter on December 26th. I tested two yesterday, and I’ll be testing the third today, so the rating for Chilled will be added once I’ve finished wearing it for the day.
Chilled is described as a “frosted white gold [with a Pearl finish].” It’s a cool-toned white with a pale gold frosted sheen. It has a slightly sparkly consistency, so it doesn’t apply as smoothly as a true cream finish would. It had a metallic finish and semi-opaque color coverage. I had some stray sparkles go elsewhere after a few hours of wear, so it the wear was as impeccable as I’ve typically experienced with the formula. MAC Gilded White (LE, $16.00) is less sparkly. See comparison swatches.
It’s Physical is described as a “brown with purple pearl [with a Pearl finish].” It’s a dark brown with yellow-ish tones with purple shimmer. It looks more interesting in the pot than it does on, as the brown tended to dominate. It had decent color payoff but wasn’t fully opaque. It was something buildable, though, and on my lash line, it wore well for nine hours. Urban Decay Underground (P, $19.00) is less sparkly, cooler-toned. Urban Decay Corrupt (P, $19.00) is browner. MAC Added Goodness (LE, $16.00) is darker. See comparison swatches.
Our Secret is described as a “metallic brown with red pearl [with a Pearl finish].” It’s a medium-dark brown with warm undertones and a soft, pearly sheen. It had good color coverage in a single stroke, and it was buildable and could be worn as a base, too. The color lasted well for nine hours on my lower lash line. Bobbi Brown Bronze (LE, $24.00) is warmer. Urban Decay Hustle (LE, $19.00) is very similar. Burberry Midnight Brown (P, $27.00) is darker. See comparison swatches.

Chilled is very pretty! I like the purple pearl in It’s Physical too. Wish it was a bit stronger
Pass i was expeting some red shimmer in the Our Secret shade. lol
I’m not entirely sure what fluidlines are meant for. I think they’re (primarily?) gel-eyeliners but I see many use them like Paint Pots. Are they good for both purposes? Better than paint pots? Thanks!
They are gel eyeliners, but yes, they can be used as an eyeshadow base or as cream eyeshadow 🙂 They have a different texture than Paint Pots, but I don’t find the wear that different between the two.
I thought I would totally cray for both brown liners, but I’m not. Weirdly enough, I prefer the creaminess of standard pencil format for pearly finished liners, especially on the upper eyelid where I have found pearl finish Fluidline to be rather drying. But yes, I can definitely see using chilled on the lower lash line or inner corner eye brightener and may have to pick it up. Will wait to see the verdict on wear.
I want Chilled & It’s Physical, but I’m not getting my hopes up… I may end up at the mall thos weekend, and if there’s any way tonpre-order, I will, but I won’t be going out of my way.
These are pretty, especially the purple-y shine in It’s Physical
Do you think Chilled would be safe to use on the waterline?
I don’t think it would technically be safe, due to the sparkle/micro-glitter.
Is Our Secret comparable in colour to Eclair Paint Pot, Christine?
Eclair is warmer! http://www.temptalia.com/mac-eclair-pro-longwear-paint-pot-review-photos-swatches
These are so pretty, but I think I would use them more as cream shadows (especially Chilled).
These look so pretty! Christine may I ask what brush you apply these with? Your liner always looks stunning!
I use MAC’s 266 usually!
