MAC Lightfully Bright Lipglass Dupes & Comparisons
As promised, here are comparison swatches for the four new and limited edition lipglasses from Lightfully Bright. These are sheerer shades, so they are easier to replicate, especially when actually worn, as their effect is subtle.
- ASTRO COOL is less pink in comparison to Lightning and Pas-de-deux, while it is a touch more lavender than She-Zam. They all look comparable on lips, with She-Zam being the closest.
- ATMOSPHERIC is similar to Like Venus, just slightly darker. It is also comparable to Rags to Riches when worn, as it is a darker pink, but it does have gold shimmer in it,so it isn’t as cool-toned. Frozen Dream is more pigmented and cooler-toned, while Lavender Wind is purpler.
- ETHEREAL is a slightly darker and more shimmery version of Chillin’, while it is a lighter version of Best of Breed. It looks more like Chillin’ when worn.
- OUTER SPACE is similar in color to Snowscene, but it is less milky in its base. Almondine has a similar milkiness but is more of a white gold.

thats insane! they need to chill out on the collections so tehy can come up with things that aren’t so dupeable!

Yes.
As subtle as they are, I got all four of these and I’m quite happy with them. The shimmery-cool effect they add is quite nice, plus I find that you can get a bit more impact from them by dabbing a bit of concealer on the lips first (or lip erase). Ethereal is particularly pretty to me.
How do you pull off blue lipgloss? I know it’s sheer but it can still go wrong if you wear it with the wrong stuff.
I ordered Atmospheric and Astro Cool with my Wonder Woman order. I’m glad I wish this post would’ve been up before I ordered they may be going back.
So sad that I wasn’t able to get these up sooner!
Ethereal sure is pretty in the tube, but these all definitely have dupes. I’m not even sure what the point of this collection was, since I could tell the shades weren’t very original just by reading the descriptions. Thanks for these comparisons! What is the name of the 5th one from the right in the picture at the very top? It looks like a really cool, almost lavender blue.
I think it’s Lavender Wind. I didn’t photograph them in order, I just quickly pushed them together for a photo, so I’m not 100% sure.

Hi! Would you say outerspace is similiar to MAC elle from the 2009 holiday collection (the neutral lipglass set)?
Not quite as cool-toned but similar.
Oh bummer! I was hoping these would be so much more fun! They don’t look bad but they aren’t as nice as I was hoping. I was hoping they’d be just a bit more opaque. I ordered Atmospheric with my WW order. I wish I would have gotten Spitfire lipstick instead 🙁

It’s available at most CCOs, I just got one this past weekend!
I don’t know about the American site, but the Canadian MAC site still has it in stock. Maybe try a site search?

I would like to know why MAC has this new Atmospheric nothing like the original from Blue Storm and why no one has even mentioned that :(. The original was soooo pretty! I wished they’d made it like the original 🙁

As far as I know, the brushes are machine-made vs. hand-made so I would not recommend them.
Oh my goodness…looking at the picture I found something I wanted. What is the name of the very first bottle of lipglass(?) purple shimmery beautiful!
I have almondine. I was thinking about getting one of these just for the sake of having something from the collection as I am not interested in MAC skincare, but these swatches completely turned me off. Thank God!
