Carbon, Schmarbon – AGAIN??? They have the nerve to discontinue Blanc Type and Handwritten (and, I presume, Typographic) and keep shoving CARBON down our throats? The face powder looks whimsical (Christine, do you have the Canadian and US prices mixed? I can’t imagine that anything costs LESS here) and a few of the neutral eyeshadows look nicely, well, “neutral” but nothing most of us don’t already have…probably in multiples… I’ll save my loonies and toonies for Chanel.
Agreed! The matte2 was a far superior formula! Handwritten was such a beautiful brown-and different than any they kept. The matte shadows are difficult to blend, patchy, not good color payoff. Too many repromotes in this collection-but that’s standard for Mac. Hope the LE colors are decent. If not, I’m sure there will be another collection next month.
Next month? Probably next WEEK (you know how they’ll have collection after collection after collection for a time – to the point where we can’t keep up and it becomes overwhelming).
Or even next week 🙂
I’m so bummed Blanc type and handwritten have been discontinued. I bought a back up of Blanc type bc it’s one of my favorite mac eyeshadows. So practical!
Here in the EU we still haven’t received the ‘Bangin’ Brilliant’ lip/shadow/cheek permanent collection! Ridiculous! Anyway this collection doesn’t wow me. I like the design on the face powder though! Super cute!
This is an area where I have a lot of similar looking product so this collection comes down to reviews on quality and careful comparison with what I already have.
ANOTHER collection, it feels like they release one every month or is that how they do it? I’m not a huge MAC fan so I don’t know how often they put out collections but this seems a like a lot this year already.
I’d honestly buy blush with the bowling pins just cause it’s fun and unique.
They practically release 2-5 a month a mix of permanent and LE now….. It’s the reason I stopped buying so much LE from MAC and other brands unless they are permanent shades in a sample/smaller item kit.
The pearlmatte formula powders as usually good so I’m curious as how this Trophy face powder works.
OMG, mye eyes are popping out of their sockets! Look at that powder with the bowling pin embossing!! I want it! I don’t even care what color the powder is, or whether it scores well. It is too cute!!! MAC has out-done themselves with that one. If every MAC collection was like that powder, I would be dead broke. Also interested in 300 Game shadow, blackened cherry sounds intriguing ……
Doesn’t seem that great. I’ll hold judgement.
This collection looks obnoxious. No surprise there. Almost as bad as the Haute Dog theme. I refuse.
Ok… I dont really get this one. The products seem ok, but what an odd theme! Why bowling? It seems like a random idea to try to group some items together and call it a collection. I am perplexed. The face powder is a fun idea but they could have done that with any design- I would have been more drawn to floral/ geometric/ pattern/ etc.
Yeah, I’m a bit confused by the bowling theme as well. I did a quick search and didn’t find anything this year that would be major in the bowling world (anniversaries, inaugural tournaments, etc.) thinking MAC maybe partnered up with an organization as a sponsor or something; which now that I say it out loud sounds incredibly stupid. It’s a very random theme for a collection for sure.
However, come release day I will have ZERO qualms with throwing elbows to get that Pearlmatte powder. That formula is one of my all-time favorites and the design is very unusual.
A bit of a random theme, I suppose, but it won’t hurt to check out the swatches later.
A lipstick named “Babes and Balls”, um, what??? They need to fire whoever gave a LIPSTICK this not-quite-right name!
As for the rest of this mishmash of permanent shades, repromotes and whatever, it’s just not that appealing to me. Except *possibly* the face powder.
The powder Looks really funny. Nice product for my Mac collection. Really interested in how the new lipsticks Look like. From the Description I think that there is no colour for me.
Ooh I’m picking up another of the liquid lurex lipstick. I got it in the last limited collection to use as a ‘not lipgloss’ topcoat to add shine and dimension/highlight the cuspids bow etc but it’s probably gone off by now. It’s a great colour! Really useful and makes the lips look nice and plump!
This doesn’t really excite me. The face powder design is cute, though.
Meh I rarely pay attention MAC LE anymore. If I do, it is bc it wound up in the CCO near me. Not crazy about the colors here!
It’s like somebody was playing around in the lab and made the powder with the bowling pins on a whim and someone higher up was like “that will sell. Throw some random extras we have together and we’ll call it a collection. Get someone in creative to name it something bowling related” “Oh yeah, and don’t forget, we still have a ton of that Carbon crap to get rid of so make sure you add that to the collection. ” LOL
Seriously, I don’t really think that ( I’m pretty sure it was obvious I was joking but it doesn’t always translate) but it’s so odd and not at all cohesive.
However….. I sure hope you got the casual colors!! I’ve fallen in love with the CC formula and would love to know what these look like swatched. AND if they are as good as the others.
Another uninspired Mac collection. =/ It seems like their hearts just aren’t in it anymore. Why carbon?! Why do they keep trying to make us think this is a good color! Bring back typographic!
Christine – Canadian and US prices on Pearlmatte Face Powder must be switched (I can’t imagine it’s cheaper in Canada than in the US, though a girl can hope). I mentioned this earlier but you must have missed it.
Thanks again for commenting, Mariella – I did miss the first one – it is $32 CAD.
Figures….I knew better but was hoping against hope that in some little flight of fancy, they decided to give us Canadians a break. Fat chance!
I haven’t purchased anything from MAC in quite some time, so I may go for “It’s a Strike” and “Rack ‘Em Up” from this collection. I’m such a sucker for nudes and taupes, honestly!
Where’s the super cool packaging we’ve come to expect from these collections? Disappointed with that. King Pin looks amazing and ordered it even though usually don’t like lip gloss. Don’t have another like it. Will probably pick up the powder (and probably only for show since the design is too great to mess up!) and a few eyeshadows and lipsticks, but I’m not rushing to order as fast as I would if the packaging were special. Surely they realize how many of us are suckers for packaging…
