MAC Green Clean Veluxe Pearlfusion Eyeshadow Trio
MAC Green Clean Veluxe Pearlfusion Eyeshadow Trio ($27.50 for 0.07 oz.) is a green-themed set of shades that ranges from a light, washed-out green, chartreuse, and olive green. The three shades worked well together, and I liked that the finishes varied a bit. The formula is inconsistent with the color payoff, but the three shades wore well on the eyelid and were fairly easy to use, so if the variance in opacity doesn’t bother you, it may still be worth a look if you’re a big fan of green.
Green Clean #1 is described as a “pale white-green.” It’s a light-medium, soft green with warm undertones and a frosted sheen. It had very sheer color payoff applied dry, and it was semi-sheer applied damp. It was buildable up to semi-opaque coverage with two to three passes when used damp. The color wore well for seven and a half hours. Make Up For Ever I318 Linen Khaki (P, $21.00) is lighter. Make Up For Ever D316 Crystalline Pinky Green (P, $21.00) is lighter. Tarina Tarantino Wonderful #4 (P) is cooler-toned. Tarina Tarantino Secret Pond (LE) is less shimmery. Fyrinnae Electric Stardust (P, $6.80) is cooler-toned. Guerlain Coup de Foudre #3 (LE) is cooler-toned. bareMinerals Wicked (P) is lighter, warmer. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.
Green Clean #2 is described as a “lime.” It’s a brightened, chartreuse green with warm, yellow undertones and a pearly sheen. It had opaque pigmentation both wet and dry, though damp application gave it a stronger sheen. (The formula is supposed to be sheer when used dry.) The texture was soft, smooth, and blendable on the lid, while the color adhered well and didn’t start to fade until after eight and a half hours of wear. ColourPop Sour (P, $5.00) is a cream product. MAC Lisa’s Spikes (LE, $16.00) is less shimmery. Make Up For Ever S336 Lime (P, $21.00) is cooler-toned, darker, less shimmery. Make Up For Ever I340 Lime Green (P, $21.00) is brighter. NARS Tropical Princess #1 (LE, $24.00) is more shimmery. MAC Chartreuse Bouquet (LE, $21.00) is slightly brighter. Kat Von D Birdcage (LE) is similar. NARS Rated R #1 (P, $24.00) is darker, less shimmery. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.
Green Clean #3 is described as a “deep khaki with gold pearl.” It’s a muted, medium-dark olive green with warm, brown tones and a golden sheen. It had semi-opaque pigmentation when applied dry, and it was more intense and darker applied damp, but the coverage level didn’t get much higher. It was buildable to opaque coverage with two to three layers of product both wet and dry. The texture was soft, but it could have been more blendable. The color lasted for eight hours on me. Kat Von D Covenant (LE) is darker. LORAC Jade (P) is similar. MAC Olive Blend #2 (LE) is lighter. Charlotte Tilbury Smoky Emerald (P) is a cream product. Dior Bonne Etoile (384) #1 (LE) is darker. theBalm Lead Zeppelin (P, $16.00) is similar. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

It’s an interesting color combo – I like how it’s cooler toned, the 2nd shade can add a nice pop color, and the 3rd khaki shade is gorgeous.
I always love a good chartreuse!
I like this. But. It I just don’t think I would use it too much. I bought Bellgreens from the MacX Toledo & I just hardly reach for it. Do you think this would overlap with that palette Christine?
Sorry for the second comment and I know it is completely off topic. But, I have a lighting issue where I do my makeup. I know your room is very organized. But, what kind of lighting do you use?
I use primarily simplehuman’s mirror lighting, or else my bathroom lights, which uses Halogen bulbs, I think. If I’m not being lazy, I’ll use natural light, but right now I’m doing my makeup in the same room as I photograph, so I usually keep the curtains closed (blackout curtains).
Ok.thank you! I may look into that mirror. I was possibly going to have run extra electric to install hanging lights.. I have an older home and when it’s dark the lamps are not enough light.plus I now have neighbors who sit out on the yard a lot ( it’s odd to me:)) .
On the palette. I was thinking it may be redundant. I love your looks though as usual!
I wouldn’t get this if you don’t use Bellgreens — it’s similar in concept, though this one is a little brighter.
2 IS really cute, and I’d actually like #1 for the verrry inner corner–it has a watery look I like.
It definitely works well for the inner corner! It ended up being a more unique tone, too.
I just love the color selection of this palette. All of the colors are stunning and mesh so well together. This may be the first VPF palette I add to my collection
Ooh, nice!! 🙂
This is my favorite trio from the collection. I love that they chose a lime green instead of a lighter khaki or gold. I’d use Shade #1 under my brow, so I’d actually prefer it a bit sheer.
Oh, and I don’t know if it’s the pictures or my computer, but the eye looks are showing as broken images.
Fixed! Thank you 🙂
Lovely look. I really like how these look on.
It is a lovely little theme around olive greens and the colours do work together. The eye looks you have done with these palettes are lovely as usual Christine.
Thank you as always, Genevieve!
This isn’t a great set for my coloring and the quality is not great 🙁
🙁
That’s a pretty eye look! I like the colors. Green, which I love, but also still soft and wearable.
Hmm, I love Lime and Olive.
I really like this one, but I have Bellgreens and MAC Chartreuse Pigment, so it really doesn’t seem worth it. Pretty, though!
I love these colors, but chartreuse rarely looks flattering on me. I’m thinking I should try the MUFE I318 Linen Khaki, it looks light enough that it might work for me. Chartreuse does go so well with olive, which is a color that I can wear as eyeshadow even though it doesn’t look good on me anywhere else. This review is giving me fun ideas 🙂
I’m happy — at least it gave you some ideas 😀
Nice colours, I love chartreuse. The other colours complement it very nicely. I may have to stay a long time at the MAC counter comparing trios 🙂
