Release Date + About the Launch

Meet Glow Play Blush: a new colour and texture innovation. Eleven lightweight shades capture the luminous flush of a natural blush across all skin tones. With eight-hour, fade-free wear, each ultra-blendable shade can be worn as a sheer wash of colour, or built up and paired for a more vibrant, dimensional pop.

Optimized for ultra-fresh spring skin, Glow Play boasts a bouncy, mochi-like jelly texture that glides onto skin with fingertips for a fuss-free, from-within glow. “Glow Play Blush is so exciting because first there’s this bouncy, sensorial gel-cream texture and then the most wearable shade lineup,” explains Romero Jennings, New York based Director of Makeup Artistry. “This formula is refined, silky-smooth, luminous and fun to apply whether you use one or two.” It also doesn’t dry out – so you can throw it in your bag and glow on the go.

“Glow Play Blush is becoming a beauty essential in my kit – and personal makeup bag,” says New York-based Senior National Artist Fatima Thomas. “The silky feel and finish, colour range and translucency satisfies minimalists and glamourists alike. For a more organic look, I use my middle fingers to smooth shades onto the apples of cheeks. For a sophisticated glam-up, I layer them on with the M·A·C 133S Brush.” Colours come in clear spring packaging. For a hint of a tint or a quick boost of warmed-up radiance, count Glow Play Blush as your new glow-to.

I like the selection of colors – might check these out when they are available. I have a lot of blushes, but mainly corals, mauves, and pinks. If this really is sheer but buildable I think I’d like to branch out into more neutral blushes and perhaps Rosy Does It might be something fun to play with that doesn’t look like anything I own!

I’m sure they can’t really be that transparent (how would they ever show up applied??) but wow those pictures make me excited for this launch. I love the color selection too. Can’t wait to see these!

“sensorial” – is that even a word? Do they mean “sensory”? Having said that, I see at least 3 colours that appeal to me “sensorially”! I’ll have to check these out but a part of me can’t help but wish that they’d release a few more shades of the Extra Dimension blushes, which I really love.

I’m still trying to get over Prince Harry quoted on the cover of Hello as having said something about “the decision I’ve made for my wife and I” (it should be ME!!! He went to some of the finest schools in the UK and doesn’t know which form of the pronoun to use? Me is very upset!)

Lulu Avatar

Don’t be upset! You are right but Harry was also correct based on more historical use of the English language used by highly raised and educated Brits. Also those in the America (and other nations) of British descent and similar circumstances who arrived in the 17th and 18th centuries.

Mariella Avatar

Nope – that’s incorrect. You wouldn’t say “I made the right decision for I” and sticking “my wife” in there doesn’t change that. “for” is a preposition and takes the object form of the pronoun. It’s a common mistake but it surprised me coming from him in a release to the press.

Hi again. Fun to chat on a subject other than makeup! Your answer is the first choice grammatically in 21st century America, but doesn’t reflect the speaker’s background, nationality and education. “I” remains acceptable as “I” is heard (or read) as more inclusive and respectful of (Harry’s wife) by the absence of me. As a retired journalist, I love my collection of dictionaries and style guides. Most helpful in this situation is the Oxford English Dictionary.

Mariella Avatar

Lulu, I can’t reply to your post (I guess this thread is getting too long) but I went to school back in the 20th Century and to university and became a teacher then. “I” and “me” are totally different noun cases; “I” is simply incorrect in English – any English – as the object of a preposition. Nothing to do with more inclusive or respectful of his wife. It’s simply a grammar error and respect doesn’t come into it.

Interesting. With the exception of the heavy, draped blush placement, the model looks very London Mod/Swingin’Sixties. I wonder how much this formula owes to CPSSS and Maybelline Dream Bouncy? The description, which I translate to be sheer and buildable, could be a big hit all around, and some colours do not look like the usual spring retread. Nice.

Lauren Avatar

Ugh ? I knew when they finally showed the collection that I’d like more than a few Lol . I just bought 4 of the new nars!!! Part of me hopes they swatch awful ? but I have a feeling not. I also happen to like all the lip gloss n sticks that r coming along plus I’m curious about the highlighters. Can’t wait to see your swatches! I haven’t liked any Mac collection this much lately I usually buy everything. I have an addiction.

Looks like MAC has slowed way down and ColourPop is now at the helm for releasing every other week. I like that this is a new type of product as well as just one thing in many shades versus a whole edit. Hopefully this is a new turn for MAC in that they release fewer things of better quality.

I don’t know if I’m going to pick this up. Other than foundation/concealer and lipstick, I shy away from cream or liquid products because I don’t want it to spoil before I’m able to use most of it up.
