MAC Full Fuchsia Blush

MAC Full Fuchsia Blush ($17.00 for 0.21 oz. pan-only) is described as a “bright intense fuchsia [with a Frost finish].” It’s a bold, bright, medium fuchsia-pink with strong, blue undertones and a fine shimmer-sheen. MAC Azalea (P, $24.00) is more shimmery, lighter (95% similar). ColourPop Pegacorn (DC, $8.00) is more shimmery, lighter (90% similar). NARS Coeur Battant (P, $30.00) is less shimmery, darker (90% similar). MAC Let's Be Friends (LE, $24.00) is less shimmery, lighter, warmer (90% similar). Wayne Goss Shocking (PiP, ) is less shimmery, lighter (90% similar). ColourPop More, Please (LE, $8.00) is more shimmery (90% similar). Urban Decay Jilted (P, ) is more shimmery, darker (80% similar). ColourPop Flamenco (P, $8.00) is less shimmery, lighter (85% similar). Sephora I'm Shocked (09) (P, $14.00) is lighter, brighter, cooler (85% similar). ColourPop Pie (DC, $8.00) is less shimmery, lighter (85% similar). Kosas 8th Muse (High Intensity) (Blush) (PiP, ) is less shimmery, warmer, glossier (85% similar). Fenty Beauty Crush on Cupid (P, $20.00) is less shimmery, lighter, glossier (85% similar). MAC Dollymix (P, $24.00) is lighter (80% similar). Rare Beauty Nearly Rose (P, $21.00) is less shimmery, lighter, cooler (80% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

MAC’s Powder Blush formula is supposed to be easy to apply, long-wearing, and have “fantastic colour.” It’s hard to generalize for MAC’s blush formula, because it varies a lot from shade to shade, even within different types of finishes! Some of them are very good, others are so-so, and a few are complete misses. The more frosted/shimmery shades tend to have the softest and smoothest textures and are easier to apply and blend out on the skin, while more satin and matte shades can sometimes be powdery, firm, or stiff, which makes blending more challenging. The wear is typically between six and nine hours but closer to seven to eight hours on average. Full Fuchsia had rich, mostly opaque color coverage where a little goes a long way. It can be applied as true intensity or blended out for a softer, sheerer look (where it will look rosier and less fuchsia). The finish is satiny once blended on the skin, so it doesn’t emphasize pores but doesn’t look flat either. It had a fairly soft texture that was a smidgen dusty but relatively easy to work with. This shade lasted for nine hours before fading on me.

Haha… Right on time with this review! I’m wearing Azalea today for church and I tend to have to dig my brush into it to get enough color off. And while buying Oh darling and shaft of gold last week I swatched full fuscia and fell in love. But I have enough pinks already. It’s gorgeous I prefer full fuscia over Azalea. But it doesn’t look shimmery on my it’s more muted

Very nice! I like it way more than my pot of CP Pie, because Full Fuschia has a bit more warmth and appears more natural and glowy. Pie makes my face just look “off”, somehow? Hard to put into words!

I think it’s both. Pie appears quite a bit cooler in undertone, and seems to have a flatter finish. Which could be why it’s not too forgiving on my skintone. Pie washed me out! Very weird considering fuschia usually looks alright on me.
