MAC Embrace Me Nail Lacquer Review, Photos, Swatches

MAC Embrace Me Nail Lacquer ($16.00 for 0.34 fl. oz.) is described as a “bright fuchsia cream.” It’s a medium-dark pink with a little plummy coloring and cream finish. It’s slightly cool-toned. MAC Girl About Town is brighter, pinker, less plum. MAC Toco Toucan is also brighter and pinker. Zoya Areej is similar but more plum in color, more subdued.

Embrace Me was opaque in two coats, but it was quite pigmented in a single coat.  The consistency is on the thinner side, but it isn’t watery, so two coats is really necessary if you don’t use a ridge-filling base coat or if your nails aren’t perfectly smooth.  Two coats also gives is a plusher look, as it does have a slightly glossy finish.  I had no issues with the polish streaking, bubbling, or pooling along the edges when I applied it.  I thought it was going to be more dupable, but it turns out that darkened aspect of it–what makes it almost like a plummy shade–is what makes it stand out from potential dupes.  I usually see a week of wear with MAC’s formula with minor tip wear but no chipping.

This collection is totally feeding into my need for brights this spring and every set you have reviewed so far looks amazing on you, Christine. Brights actually work really well on me too and I’ve been holding off, but I don’t noes if I has the power to continue…help!

This sort of reminds me of OPI Dim Sum Plum. Very pretty and summer-y. Interesting and pleasing that all of these MAC polishes have had good quality.

Hi Christine,

just a hint:

the lip product swatches picture says “MAC Embrace Me Fashion Set: Lipstick, Lipglass, Nail Lacquer” – though the latter swatch shows the lip liner.

Same for the pictures showing you wearing the lip products “MAC Embrace Me Lipglass over Embrace Me Lipstick over Embrace Me Nail Lacquer”

Thanks for your efforts!

Have a nice weekend!
