MAC Cremeblend Blushes for Spring 2011

U.S. & Canada Launch Date: March 3rd, 2011
International Launch Date: March 2011

For every contour control freak, for every persistent perfectionist comes this wondrous way to play with blush that gives you the most magnificent flexibility you’ve ever had…Starts creamy, stays creamy and proves once and for all that powder is NOT your only prerogative. You can get back to a new build for that retro “rouge” look – Old Hollywood Glamour made modern – or stop at subtle and natural; it’s all in your hands. In three aspects, two shades of each: One matched to skin, one for a brighter glow and one darker for cream contouring, it’s perfect for all skin colours, minus the silicone, particularly adept at preventing ashiness on darker complexions. Make powdery a thing of the past.

Hi Christine,I was wondering if you think there will be a difference between the ladyblush in this collection and the one that’s being discontinued. Because I wanted to try it but I never got a chance. And I know that it’s currently still available on the nordstrom website.do you think I should wait for the new one or purchase the old one?

Kelly Avatar

I like the idea of a cream blush, but when ever I try to use them I feel that I remove all my foundation on my cheeks when I apply the blush. Any tips or tricks?

JayJay Avatar

I use a 168 brush (angled blush brush), and I just tap it into the product, to pick up a tiny amount. Then, I stipple it on to my cheeks. Once the colour is placed, I blend it with a very light hand. I don’t see foundation moving at all this way.

If I do it with my fingers, foundation and blush mix together, and cake up all over my cheeks.

Carrie Ann Avatar

I always put cream blush on after moisturizer and before foundation. It blends very easily on your skin and you can just pat some foundation over it to tone down the blush and make it look more natural. Plus, it will last all day without fading.

Banan Avatar

Tea petal sounds like something I would add to my collection since I dont have anything similar to it, but I still would want to check it out when it comes out!

Ani_BEE Avatar

I feel like Cream Blushes tend to work best withliquid foundation. I never bothered to get one since this year was the first time finding a company that makes a white adjuster for their liquid foundation that i like the feel and look of with Face Atelier.

Being in the NC10 range levels you very little options in this category.

YAY!! I was choked to find out that blush cremes were being discontinued. I was going to buy a backup of the only blush I’ll ever need/my HG, Ladyblush.

What’s the difference between blush creme and cremeblend blush though?

DeeDee Avatar

you might want to get those backups because the description for the new lady blush says warm neutral coral. And the blushcreme lady blush is a pink

Angel Avatar

Ohh no wonder So sweet so easy wasn’t at my cco :O
I think MAC recalled the blushcremes formula in favor for the cremeblend. Good choice, I’ve heard blushcremes were harder to work with :/.
Well, i’m still picking up Florida and Joie de vivre from my cco<3

Aisha Avatar

I am so excited for these blushes. I LOVE my So Sweet, So Easy. The only problem I have is that the descriptions for Ladyblush, Posey, and Brit Wit are different now. I have been eying Posey and Ladyblush for ages at the counter because the colors are so beautiful, but Posey is definitely not a “warm peach”, for example. The blushcreme colors are gorgeous, but the cremeblend formula is to die for. I am torn 🙁

Katie Avatar

I never liked cream blushes but I am a huge fan of MAC blushcremes. They’re so lightweight, they don’t disappear off my face, and they blend extremely well. I’m curious about this new formula and how it differs.

Kat Avatar

I’ve heard lots of good things about the ones from the Lillyland collection, so I’m really interested in buying them. However, I (as per usual) HATE the higher Canadian prices. First off, our dollar is about equal to the American one, and second off, MAC was founded Toronto yet we still have to pay more. Ok, end of rant, haha.

Lisa Avatar

i can’t wait for these. i hope posey and ladyblush are different in color. I just picked up those recently because i heard they were being discontinued. They describe much differently too.

Marcela Avatar

I love MAC cream blushes, I think they give such a natural look, but for some reason I prefer to use them on spring and summer time. I have Ladyblush and it’s such a flattering shade, I’m really curious with the “Something Special” shade, I love corals, will definitely be checking that one out. =-)

Dusty Avatar

the cream blushes that i got from lillyland got all crusty and dried out. i had to depot them into better containers in order to save them. anyone else have this problem or was it just moi?

Jumper Avatar

Which type of cream blush is better (easiest to apply/blend, wear-time, etc.): blushcreme or cremeblend blush?

(I realize that since MAC is replacing the blushcremes with the cremeblend blushes that the latter must be better. But it’s still helpful to have your opinion.)

Alex Avatar

same here. when I saw the picture and hadn’t read the descriptions of the colors yet I was so excited for a purple and then I was dissappointed not to see one in the list.

Kendall Avatar

I agree! I was so excited to see that purple, and then the actual colors look so blah to me in comparison. (Does anyone have any recommendations for a good, not too expensive purple blush, preferably cream?)

esme Avatar

maybe you can try the Maybelline Mousse cream blushes.. there’s a shade that’s called ( oh i can’t remember but it’s plum something).. i hope this helps

Kendall Avatar

I absolutely adored the forehead color, so I asked a MAC artist who called around. Apparently the forehead color uses one of the cremeblend blushes – to get the color, you’re supposed to mix Fuchsia and Push the Edge Pigments with So Sweet, So Easy Cremeblend Blush. And then the rest of the coloring is just photoshop.

Helen Avatar

How do these differ from the regular MAC Blushcremes? And are the Blushcremes going to be discontinued and replaced by the Cremeblend Blushes?

DonnaN Avatar

The color descriptions don’t seem to match the image, so I made need to wait to try the actual swatches before making a decision. I may be able to skip another cream blush

Samantha Avatar

Hmm they describe Posey as a warm peach, but I have the blushcreme and it’s definitely a bright, gorgeous pink! I wonder if it’ll be the same color? 🙂 Is there any difference in the formulas?

maclover Avatar

why MAC why… new collection every week… and like an idiot i buy it all… makes me happy, but i barely use some of the stuff…

My favorite purchase from some of the new collections: Mehr lipstick from the Mickey Contractor collection – gorgeous color… I’m just sad list limited edition, so I won’t be wearing it everyday… but i’m sure a dupe can be found (prob in MUFE?).

ak Avatar

Buy more Mehr if you can. I bought more than one my self. I don’t always do that but when there’s a lip color that I can see I’ll keep reaching for time and again, from now on I will. I’ve had regrets in the past for not buying more than one LE perfect lipstick, and I was determined not to make the same mistake again!

IB Avatar

I know the pictures are not the best representation but I can’t seem to match the description of the names to the picture of the blush. will have to wait for swatches.

Dani Diamond Avatar

I forgot about these, i hope everyone else wont cos that could be bad for mac brinign something like this out and it dont work likeafew theyve done before lol

The colours seem nice, the rosey pinks and the bottom 3 all look too similar! wud b nice for sum bright ish ones, then sum dust roses and maybe some tropical summer shades like more warm corals and bronze browns for contoruing lol and maybe a violet plum! yummy!” xx

Alex Avatar

SHOOT, I was SO hoping they would repromote (and make permanent) Florida and Joie-de-Vivre, I picked up So Sweet So Easy and Optimistic Orange from Lillyland and have regretted not getting the other two since. Here’s hoping they eventually release more shades. (like the purple in the picture)

Becca Avatar

I really dislike these. I have 2 of them from the Lilyland collection and they are so dry….I’m stocking up on the old formula. Not a fan at all….

Catherine Avatar

good to know. I didn’t grab any from lilyland so I was wondering if they were much different. By the sounds of things I should stock up too!

saku Avatar

I just saw some on line and in the stores still, so I don’t know the re-name. I may pick up Posey before it’s gone. I’m not a big blush person, but may try one.

Nunuiviet Avatar

Blushcremes don’t work on me, I have oily acne prone skin, I prefer powder blush, which are loner lasting and don’t melt and don’t clog my pores

Louise Avatar

Hey Christine,
How does the formuation of Cremeblend compare to the old Blushcremes? I love cream blushes, but the Blushcremes were too oily 🙁

stephanie Avatar

yay i’m so excited! you’ll probably be happy as well because now every time a pink cream blush comes out i won’t have to ask you if it’s a close dupe to so sweet, so easy haha!

Karin Avatar

im sure these will be great, but im totally disappointed that the promo pic shows this amazing purple and hot pink and yet theres no purple or hot pink blushes, only natural-ish ones. bummer.

Judy Avatar

I’ve always been a powder blush person. I have never tried creme blushes. Maybe I will pick one of these up & try it. I like the colors. 🙂

Mehak Avatar

These look nice thogh im heartbroken they discontinued lilicent 🙁
Its a little fissapointing that the promo picture looks so pretty and makes u think the blushes will have all those colours but actually they dont 🙁

Becca Avatar

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!1 I just bought ladyblush today :)) I tried it on and it’s GORGEOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!! I might have to get posey and brit wit before they’re gone forever. Oh why do they have to be so gorgeous???????? and with all the collections and all…. well, guess who’re broke?

Hadassah Avatar

Going to have to skip these. Are they permanent? If so, I can take my time to buy & try one or two of these. I’m holding off all MAC purchases until the Quite Cute collection & the three other summer collections.

Rachel Avatar

pretty sure not all of these are permanant.
i’ll definitely be purchasing all the ones that aren’t permanant!
been wanting so sweet so easy for a while! love cream blush!

Gracian Avatar

Hey Christine!
I’ve been wondering which lipstick the model is wearing on the promo pic? It’s a nice deep and dark red/wine/plum!

L Mattina Avatar

I’m so disappointed Lilicent has been discontinued. Any idea where I can get discontinued Mac products?
And
Do you have a recommendation for the closest approximation of Blushcreme to Lilicent?
