MAC Connect in Colour 6-Pan Palettes Swatches
MAC Connect in Colour 6-Pan Palette debuted on Ulta last week in four variations, though they were taken down for purchase within a day (but not before I bought the ones available!). I imagine they will return soon, though, so here are swatches in the meanwhile… I am not particularly encouraged by how these have performed thus far, so I don’t think this is MAC’s return to form on delivering on eyeshadow.
I was tempted to get Bronze Influence just so I could get Bronze e/s which, when I went to purchase it a while back, turned out to be discontinued – DUH!!!! I thought Olive Twist would be nice but it looks blech bad. I see now that Overnight Influence is a dark, matte teal/green/black (I think I’ve probably got 2 nicer dupes but it sure doesn’t look like the green shade that MAC described it as). Data Mine isn’t a colour I’m likely to wear (and, again, I’ve probably got dupes) and the rest….well, let’s just say it’s a very easy pass. Then I thought Encrypted Kryptonite might be a good one but looking at how “not” like my Satin Taupe this version of Satin Taupe appears, I think I’ll pass on that one too and on all of these (though your reviews might well change my mind). I really had high hopes for these but the 2 I’m interested in don’t look great.
How odd that they took it down after only a day. I bought two of the 6 pan palettes and two of the 15 pans. The larger palettes seem to be akin to the Artist Library palettes. The packaging is lovely.
If only Olive Twist swatched more impactfully, then Bronze Influence for sure! And, I still may wind up getting it… we’ll see.
Encrypted Kryptonite looks like something I would love to have, since I love me a good grungy smokey eye!
Le Sigh – these just look so average that I think even CP does a better job of the shimmers….
