MAC Claretluxe Veluxe Pearlfusion Eyeshadow Trio ($25.00 for 0.07 oz.) is a bold combination (which I love seeing!), and I think the colors work really well together. This formula is supposed to have “sheer coverage with a soft finish” when applied dry and “super saturation of colour with metallic brilliance” when applied wet. My experience with this formula is that sometimes it can be really nice, other times it is a total miss. I think they are most practical used damp or over a slightly tacky base if you want to use them dry. They’re actually longer-wearing than you might think, given how they feel and swatch, but I usually get seven to eight hours of crease-free wear. With Claretluxe, I think it is most viable damp or if used dry, over a slightly tacky or white-hued base. The wear was good, and for the most part, the shades were true to description: sheer when used dry, richer when used damp.

Claretluxe #1 is described as a “light pearly pink.” It’s a light, pinky-peach with warm, gold sparkle with a highly reflective finish. Applied dry, it was sheer and prone to having a lot of fall out during application, while applying it damp yielded better coverage (about semi-sheer) that was buildable to opaque coverage (two to three layers really patted and packed on). The sparkles adhere better to the base powder when you use a damp brush–I used MAC’s 242 dampened with water for best results. It lasted for seven and a half hours on me before creasing. MAC Pastelluxe #2 (P, ) is warmer. MAC Pastelluxe #2 (P, ) is warmer. MAC Invincible Light (LE, $21.00) is less shimmery. MAC Good Fortune (LE, $16.50) is less shimmery. Claretluxe #2 is described as a “clean burgundy pink-red.” It’s a brightened, reddish copper with warm, orange undertones and a metallic sheen. Applied dry, it was semi-sheer with a drier consistency that applied more unevenly to the skin and was harder to blend out. Using a dampened brush, the color was intensely pigmented and very smooth while becoming blendable. It wore for eight and a half hours before fading on me. MAC Spicy Smoke (LE, $32.50) is less shimmery, darker. MAC Cranberry (P, $16.00) is less shimmery, darker. MAC Quartz Fusion (LE, $21.00) is darker. Zoeva Warm Notes (P, ) is darker. Le Metier de Beaute Innocence (DC, $30.00) is less shimmery, darker, warmer. Sugarpill Asylum (P, $13.00) is darker, brighter, more pigmented. Claretluxe #3 is described as a “purple.” It’s a slightly muted, dark purple with cooler undertones and a pearly sheen. It was semi-sheer applied dry, but it blended well, so it was usable dry, though you’ll definitely want to use a damp brush to achieve opaque coverage if that is more your style. It remained blendable for the most part even when used damp. The color lasted for eight hours on me before fading. Disney by Sephora Sea Witch (LE, ) is lighter, cooler. Cle de Peau Cosmic Aura #1 (P, ) is lighter. Marc Jacobs Beauty The Tease #1 (P, ) is lighter. Ulta Purple (P, $10.00) is lighter. Sleek MakeUP Romance in Rome (LE, $9.99) is lighter. Disney by Sephora Snarfblat (LE, ) is lighter. theBalm Lavish Latoya (LE, $16.00) is more shimmery, lighter. MAC Warm & Smoky (LE, $16.00) is lighter. Urban Decay Half Truth (LE, $18.00) is cooler. MAC Pink Union #2 (LE, $21.00) is lighter, brighter. MAC Drawn to Drama (LE, $16.00) is less shimmery, darker, more muted. MAC Dusty Desire (LE, $32.50) is more shimmery. Wow, this is such a gorgeous and luxe look! I absolutely love it! Time for me to shop my stash and bring out my UD Sonic, L’Oreal Perpetual Purple ( or better yet, Purple Priority! ), and the MUFE Pink Ivory, maybe, and do a fun look that semi-replicates this!

Maybe that’s why the Pearlfusions don’t swatch well for me, because I’m swatching them dry in the store vs. damp. I would never think to pair copper with the purple, but it looks very lovely on you. Fancie, if you’re reading this post, I just saw the name on that eyeliner 🙂

I think that is the reason I returned Greenluxe Pearlfusion as I was attempting to use it dry… absolute disaster and it’s really rare that I cannot make greens work! Maybe will have to check it out again…

If that first shade performed better, I would be ALL over this. These are some of my favorite colors and go great with green eyes, but that light pink shade is just SO sheer! The look you did with this is GORGEOUS Christine! Definitely making it hard to resist.

I love these! And your eyeliner is spectacular (the shade name made me laugh). Sadly, the Claretluxe hasn’t made it across the pond. Hopefully it will soon, because I would absolutely get this. Love.
