MAC Bountiful Brown Powerpoint Eye Pencil ($16.50 for 0.05 oz.) is described as a “brown rinsed with bronze.” It’s a medium brown with gold shimmer and warm undertones. Sephora Collection Cookie Crunch (P, $9.00) is yellower-toned. Buxom Come Over (P, $17.00) is darker. Urban Decay Smog (P, $19.00) is similar. Urban Decay Scorch (P, $19.00) is lighter. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

In a single stroke, it had mostly opaque color coverage.  The consistency was lightly waxy, so it glided easily across the lash line without tugging or pulling at the skin.  It has faint sparkle and a lightly pearled sheen that works well to add depth to the lash line while brightening.  The color wore well for eight hours before it started to gradually thin, but it didn’t smudge or migrate.  It is part of the permanent range, so it can be bought now or later, and you’ll save $1.50 by buying it in standard black packaging instead.

This is pretty, but a bit similar to the Chanel stylo jeux in amber dore which I just picked up last month.. I think the amber dore is super brightening and pretty on the lower lashline, with the colour definitely lighter, brighter and more copper shimmery than this. Not sure I need this one. I’m lemming too many MJ gel pencils anyway…eeek

I’ve never had an issue with shimmery eyeliners or eye shadows irritating my contacts. It helps to use a primer first if you’re worried, since a primer will help the shimmer particles in place throughout the day.

Hi, Preeti!

Many liners have shimmer that adhere and then many flake off. I’d google for the remarks about this one as well as linking it to contact wear to be certain. If other MAC pencils like this don’t bother you, this won’t be any different, but if you don’t have any to be certain, please try a google! 😀 Save your eyes! (Marc Jacobs gel eyeliners have no fall it and stay well on the contact lenses wearers I know, and though a bit more expensive, it’s totally beautiful and worth it. MJ Brown(Out) is a beautiful golden brown with less shimmer than Ro(Cocoa) though both are wonderful for contact lenses wearers as far as I know. I hope that helps. 🙂

I can think of 100 pencils similar to this, and then I can of a few with standout quality or color and application, and then I can think of two brown shades that top them all. Marc Jacobs Highliner Gel Eye Crayons. It was worth the 100 to find just the 2, they’re THAT good. But cheers, MAC! You have a permanent pencil doing well under disguise again! (Red capes are for the occasion of red capes) ;P
