MAC Archie's Girls' Young Hearts Mirror Review & Photos

MAC Archie’s Girls’ Young Hearts Mirror ($24.00) comes with a heart-shaped, white patent (faux) mirror holder with the Archie’s Girls’ logo on the front and back. The size of the holder is the exact same width and heighth as the coin purse–it doesn’t have as much depth and doesn’t have a zipper. The mirror is slightly smaller and made out of white plastic backing with the Archie’s Girls’ logo on the back and the mirror on the front. The interior of the mirror holder is lined with red backing that is decorated with white hearts.

Again, not cheap-feeling; not super flimsy or thin. The mirror has some weight to it, but the plastic is a little off-putting. I think metal might have been a bit nicer. The holder keeps the mirror in fairly well–I could turn it upside and shake lightly without it falling out. It’s not stuck in there, but it shouldn’t fly out too readily.

This is adorable, and it was in my shopping cart. But I tried to resist and removed it. It looks too big with the case to be kept in my makeup bag that I keep in my handbag. Plus, I have a stash of free Clinique mirrors from GWP’s that I use, and a HUGE stash of those awful Sephora mirrors (that you can’t open) that come with the gift cards that I’ve been keeping over the years. The most recent mirror that I bought in a LONG time was the Disney Cinderella mirror from Sephora – but that was it. I kept asking myself if I really NEED it. The answer is NO, but it IS cute!! Haha!

It’s cute, but that’s part of what pushed me to pass it up. I’m at the stage in my life where “cute” and “twee” are no longer fitting additions to my style. I like something minimalist and chic. As it is, the mirror seems a bit large for a carry-on mirror. (It would be a tight fit for my purse!)

I’d rather it be a heart shaped compact with 2 mirrors. I find open mirrors like that get dirty faster, and even with the case, I would probably break it. :/
