MAC Ambering Rose Blush Review, Photos, Swatches
MAC Ambering Rose Blush
MAC Ambering Rose Blush ($21.00 for 0.21 oz.) is described as a “muted rose.” It’s a burnished, rosy brown with gold shimmer. NARS Seduction is more burgundy, less warm-toned, but is somewhat similar applied. NARS Taos is slightly darker. MAC Hidden Treasure is slightly darker. See comparison swatches.
It has good color payoff that’s buildable from sheer to mostly true-to-pan, opaque color. The blush feels soft to the touch, but it’s not powdery. It has a slightly stiffer texture, but it’s still blendable and fairly easy to apply to the skin. The more it’s blended and buffed into the skin, the smoother the sheen becomes. On my warmer complexion, it tends to take on a warmer, burnt (but in a good way) coloring, and I expect on cooler, pinker complexions, it may turn more of a rosy hue. It lasted seven and a half hours when I wore it. This shade was probably one of the first blushes I ever owned (the very first was MAC Margin).

I think it looks okay on you but I don’t think this shade would work on me.
I don’t own any MAC blushes but this is so pretty
LOVE IT! HAVE IT! OWN IT!
The name is a bit irresistible, sounds so pretty, but I do have similar shades in my stash
this whole look is beautiful!!! what else are you wearing? i love the eyeliner and lipstick!
WHAT MAKEUP ARE YOU WEARING?
On eyes: Sephora My Boyfriend’s Jeans Eyeliner. On Lips: Buxom Rogue.
oooh, is that the new Maybelline vivid red on your lips I see? 😀
I have Ambering Rose too, and I love it to bits! 🙂
I really love this shade! I’m going to have to add it to my MAC list.
loveeee it
Looks good on you but I don’t think it would work for me. The only MAC blush i have is Sincere Sheertone blush.
I love this shade, will have to go swatch it 😀 .
Nice. I almost bought this. I already had Nars Taos and realized that the two were similar. This was when my blush collection was smaller, so I had a better knowledge of what was in my stash.
This looks great on you! I also must say – your skin looks lovely!
Thanks, Verily! 🙂
This is one of my faves (NC50 for reference).
Would this suit nc42 skintone? I’m torn between this, sunbasque, margin and plum foolery! Any suggestions Christine? I wear plummy lipsticks so what blush should I get?
Yes, I think it would suit NC42! 🙂
