MAC Ablaze Nail Lacquer Review, Photos, Swatches

MAC Ablaze Nail Lacquer ($16.00 for 0.34 fl. oz.) is described as a “bright orange cream.” It’s a brightened, medium-dark orange-red with a cream finish. I would describe it as more red than orange, but it’s not just a warm red. MAC Kid Orange is very similar. NARS Lal Mirchi is more orange. MAC Morange is lighter and more orange. Essie Meet Me at Sunset is redder. Essie Braziliant is similar but has shimmer.

It’s a bit redder and richer compared to the lip products in the set, but they’re at least close enough that it’s hard to tell at a glance that they aren’t the same. The consistency wasn’t too thick or too thin, so it flowed well across the nail without pooling, bubbling, or streaking. It was opaque in two coats, and it had a slightly shiny finish when it dried down. MAC’s nail lacquer formula can be hit and miss, but this one was easy to work with and not at all streaky. I typically get a week of wear with MAC’s formula with minor tip wear but no chipping.

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

So pretty! And I’m adoring the lipstick. 🙂 I don’t know that it would look that good on my NC15 (sometimes mixing with a shade darker) skin and pigmented lips though.

Wow! A MAC nail color with an A review! I think, though, Revlon makes a LE dupe called Sunburst. There’s also Essie Hip-Anema but I haven’t actually tried them.
