L'Oreal Amber Rush & Iced Latte Infallible Eyeshadow Reviews, Photos, Swatches
L’Oreal Amber Rush Infallible Eyeshadow
L’Oreal Amber Rush Infallible Eyeshadow ($7.99 for 0.14 oz.) is a warm, reddish copper with orange undertones and a frosted, metallic finish. It had great color payoff both wet and dry, and it applied smoothly and evenly. It wore well fourteen hours, and I didn’t see any signs of creasing, only very slight fading. Dior Meteore (661) (P, $30.00) is browner. LORAC Garnet (P) is less shimmery. Tom Ford Beauty Pink Haze (LE, $40.00) is pinker. NARS California (P, $24.00) is darker, less metallic. MAC In the Sun (LE, $21.00) is less metallic. MAC Mythical (LE, $15.00) is similar. Estee Lauder Cosmic (P, $24.00) is darker, a cream product. See comparison swatches.
Iced Latte Infallible Eyeshadow ($7.99 for 0.14 oz.) is a warm, champagne beige with a frosted, metallic finish. It is semi-sheer when applied dry, and then it is semi-opaque when applied wet. This shade is best applied with a damp brush patted on in two to three layers. It wore well for nine hours, and it was somewhat faded and slightly creased after ten hours of wear. MAC Vanilla Diamond (LE, $21.00) is similar. Milani Champagne Toast (P, $6.99) is a cream product. Estee Lauder Halo (P, $24.00) is a cream product, less metallic. Benefit Bikini-tini (P, $20.00) is similar but a cream product. See comparison swatches.

I like the look of Amber Rush, it looks like a very pretty shimmery everyday-type color 🙂
By the way, Christine, could you help me out? I’ve recently fallen in love with the Tom Ford Burnished Amber eye palette, however, tbh I don’t really have £62 to splurge on four eyeshadows at the moment (Mr. Ford, are you having a laugh or what?!). I know similar shade selections have already been released by other high-end companies at much more affordable (cough) prices, in particular, the limited editions of Chanel’s Harmoine du Soir and Guerlains Turandot, but I’ve missed both (did try to look for them when they were launched, but they were sold out everywhere…). So I was wondering whether you could suggest a more affordable dupe of these colors that would still be of high quality? I don’t own many eyeshadows, nor do I want to, but this TF quad is absolutely gorgeous, and having topaz/green eyes, which, I imagine, would go with it perfectly, I feel like it’s the four shades I should defnitely get!
Hi Alex,
I don’t think I have Burnished Amber – I am not seeing it in my past reviews 🙁
Oh, that’s just too bad (sorry, it seems like you own every single thing that was ever launched tbh) 🙂
I own Iced Latte and never use it. I became obsessed with owning it when I first saw it here on Temptalia (probably well over a year ago) but this shade isn’t available in Canada (well, now that I have it, I think it is but it just has a different name, which is so annoying). Anyway, a few months ago, when I was in the US, I picked it up and was so excited until I applied it. It was SO glittery/shimmery/shiny and “icy” that I find it way too much for me (and I LOVE shimmery eye shadows, despite my advanced years!).
Have you tried it in the middle of lid the as a spotlight effect?
Ooh Amber Rush looks right up my alley!
Yay!
Oh my gosh.. Amber rush!!!!! If ONLY L’Oreal were cruelty-free!
Maybe one day!
I find so many of L’Oreal’s products beautiful (nail polishes, eye shadows, lipsticks) but I refuse to buy them for the same reason!
I love both of these, but I love Iced Latte! It’s my go-to highlighting shade.
Awesome! 🙂
I didn’t expected the lack of pigmentation from Iced Latte considering how good all the rest of them are!
These can be hit or miss for me, unfortunately! Some are fantastic, are so-so!
The shade look quite sheer but as u said it will go well with damp brush.. I think it would make a good highlighter for inner corners.. <3 <3
Iced Latte is still a bit sheer when used damp, but you can layer it decently!
What a beautiful colors!!! I love this kind of colors with a little sheen or sparkle on it, makes my sleep deprived eyes look more awake 🙂
So true, Karla! 🙂
Looks lovely, I am happy to hear it delivered 🙂
Me too 😀
Funny – I have Iced Latte and love it (actually wearing it today!) But I don’t expect or want it to be totally opaque, so the sheerer color works for me. I also love blending it with the other infallible eyeshadows, especially Bronzed Taupe, for a unique color!
Given the product’s description, I’d expect opaque – I understand if someone doesn’t want to use a color that’s fully opaque all the time, but I have the mindset that you can pretty much sheer out almost any product by using less 😉
Glad you like ’em both!
Both of these are go-to shades for me! I never had any issue with Iced Latte being sheer; I actually found mine to be quite pigmented for such a light shade.
Ohh, that’s nice, Danielle! Wish I had the same experience!
These are beautiful! I always wanted to pick a few of these up, but I have so much already. I love amber rush!
Definitely put ’em on your wish list 😉 They are worth checking out!
I had amber rush for a while. Eventually it dried out and became crumbly and too hard to work with. But I did like the color and texture when it was newer.
Weird – these are a dry product (not a cream), so they shouldn’t really have dried out, but they are only loosely packed, so they can separate in a sense – that is why there is a little “iron” in it that you can use to press everything back together! 🙂
I did use the little iron. It’s just the shadow became very crumbly and there was fallout everywhere. Although it’s not a cream product, there does seem to be a bit of moisture that holds it together.
Gotcha! What a bummer, Liz!
does amber rush look rose gold to you? I bought it because I was looking for a rose gold eyeshadow and that’s what beauty blogs came up with.
Most shades that say “rose gold” in a description always read too warm/red/orange on me (including this one).
Fourteen hours of wear? Holy wow!
They’re supposed to wear for 24 hours! :O
Ain’t nobody got time to be wearing eyeshadow for 24 hours!
Right? It icks me out 🙁
LOL, I know! Companies don’t need to make these ridiculous claims! Who wants an eyeshadow that supposedly lasts 24h? For me, it’s good enough if my makeup makes it through my office hours. Once I get home I just want a clean face and my skin to breath!!! And if I’m going out at night, I’ll just retouch a bit where needed.
I’m actually wearing Amber Rush on my lids right now .
It’s one of my faves . 🙂
Awesome! Are you wearing it with anything else, Nicole?
Ditto actually – what apt timing on this review!
Amber Rush is the only shade I own from this line. It really is a great product and such a pretty color! I wore it once with a little bit of MAC’s Coppering and Antiqued. I love coppery eyes.
That’s a lovely combo, Megan! Thank you for sharing!
These are both go-to shadows for me too! I’ve almost hit pan on Iced Latte, which if you own these know it’s almost impossible to do! Amber Rush is GORGEOUS! I’ll have strangers commenting on how pretty it is. One of the few colors people really notice!
I am impressed that you’ve hit pan, lol! It sounds impossible to me 😉
I have been lemming Amber Rush for sooo long – maybe today!
Totally worth the purchase, Melissa! I hope you snag it soon 😉
For some reason, I always get Amber Rush mixed up with Blinged & Brilliant in my head! I always call Amber Rush Blinged & Brilliant lol (both are great of course!)
I have both of these and LOVE them! Amber Rush is my go to for when I need to just put something on quick, and I use Iced Latte literally every day for my inner corners- it’s absolutely stunning there with just about any look! I’ve hit pan on that one 🙂 these are definite winners in my book
…you know, I can’t say that I noticed Iced Latte’s opacity, because I think I’ve only worn it as an inner corner highlight.
I works well as that, at least? XD
Hey, if it works how you need it to, then that’s all that matters 😉
I use the Iced Latte as a highlight/primer for my deepset eyes on the lid. I pat a light shadow from the Naked 2 palette over it.
I love Loreal’s Iced Latte. It does apply sheer on me, so this is what do. I use Urban Decay’s eye primer in Sin all over my lid. Then I apply Iced Latte all over the lid. Then I use Mac Mulch, Patina or Urban Decay’s Stray Dog on my eye. The Sin becomes a wonderful base for these neutral colors as it both mutes and highlights at the same time. I really don’t know if I described this properly but Sin really does add something.
Hi! I just wanted to say that I adore my infallible eyeshadows. The only brand that matches the shine and color intensity is urban decay. lorac? nope. mac? nope. nars? nope. The L’oreal is the most beautiful metallic out there.
Glad you like yours, Korey!
Thanks for this review! I’ve been lusting after the amber rush for awhile now. How does amber rush compare to Urban Decay’s YDK from the Naked 2 palette?
YDK is more gray-ish – not as warm toned on me!
Hi Christine! I own both shades, but I disagree with your assessment on Iced Latte. I must say I’ve never tried to apply it damp or with a brush, so my experience might be different in that respect. But applied dry and with fingers, with a patting motion (the way I use it), it is very opaque and frosted without needing to layer much. I actually use a very small amount. I’m baffled as to why it didn’t work out for you, but as always, makeup is a very personal experience.
Glad it works well for you, Adriana!
I have had Iced Latte for a while and the problem for me is mine is TOO pigmented. The color and metallic effect show up too much on my eyes so I have to use just a tiny amount on the inner corners. Maybe I just got a weird one, but it is definitely not sheer when applied with my MAC 252 😛 I may have to look into the amber one, its really pretty. Thanks for the swatch! 🙂
I wish I had that problem 😉
I own and love Iced Latte, I wore it for weeks straight when I first got it. I find the sheerness of it (which, really, not that sheer imo) makes it great for every day/any occasion wear. 😀 I will look into more colours from this line for sure.
I just got Amber Rush on clearance here in Canada! I am not a fan of super sparkly Loreal infallibles before but I am now! This shade is perfect on my medium skin color 😉
Also, your reviews are all -awesome-, which makes me want to buy almost every single thing you review!! <333 love from Vancouver, BC
Amber Rush is such a great shade – glad you are loving it, too!
Thank you, Larissa! xo
I bought the iced latte shade a few months ago and found it really hard to work with.
Does anyone know if Amber Rush is at all similar to MAC’s Tan pigment?
I think Tan is a bit darker!
