New for summer, LORAC has released their Light Source Illuminating Highlighter in four shades (reviews to come for all shades). The formula is supposed to be buildable for both a “soft, natural sheen” or “layered for a high-shine, dramatic effect.” Daylight was one of the more shimmery shades in the range, though it never became so metallic or frosted that it emphasized pores. The color payoff was medium and buildable, so true-to-pan color payoff was achievable in two to three layers, but it was just as easy to apply and diffuse for a sheer sheen. It had a smooth, moderately dense, and silky feel that was easy to work with. On me, it wore well for eight and a half hours.

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

It’s painful to see these lovely highlighters that AREN’T available in Canada. A friend and I are planning a short trip to NYC and if we can actually get it off the ground (literally AND figuratively), I’ll definitely be searching out the nearest ULTA so I can check out these highlights (and the UD Vice Reloaded XX palette as well – if it’s still available, THAT will be a definite purchase!)

Years ago, it was available at Sephora exclusively and when Sephora stopped carrying it, that was the end of that! I do wish the line were more widely available. When hubs and I go to the US, I always hit ULTA so I can get LORAC and also Alpha Hydrox (now called Alpha H, I think).

I got Daylight in the mail yesterday, and swatched it next to Becca Moonstone and CP Lunch Money. They are all pretty close, except Daylight has a slightly more yellow/gold tint. All are beautiful though, so I’m good on highlighters for a while!

OK -I know I’m hitting up Ulta very soon! I wanted Becca Moonstone, but my closest Ulta doesn’t carry Becca and I happen to really like LORAC stuff. Thank you!
