Linda Hallberg Enchanted Secrets Eyeshadow Quad Review & Swatches
Enchanted Secrets
Linda Hallberg Cosmetics Enchanted Secrets Eyeshadow Quad ($59.00 for 0.88 oz.) is designed to offer a slew of effects depending on application method–sheer when used dry, maximum impact when used with a dampened brush, and “true magic” is achieved when they’re layered on top of the brand’s crayons (like pencil eyeliners). If you love metallic, sparkling shifting eyeshadows and don’t mind using a dampened brush, I could see the palette being a good go-to. The formula was particularly soft and blendable with good wear on its own–they were easy to use, which I think is something that only comes through when a formula is well-done from the start.

Moonwake
Moonwake is a medium brown base with shimmer that shifted from purple to blue paired with a metallic finish. It had semi-sheer coverage that was buildable to medium coverage dry, and it was opaque in a single layer when applied with a dampened brush. The consistency was soft, smooth, and blendable without being too dry to the touch–I felt it was very workable dry as long as I used an eyeshadow primer (which is not always true of wet/dry formulations). The eyeshadow lasted well for eight hours dry and nine hours when applied with a dampened brush.

Ethereal
Ethereal is a medium gold with warm, orange undertones and a green-to-brown shifting sparkle/shimmer. It had semi-sheer coverage applied dry, though I felt it could be built up a bit on its own or over a primer, but when I used it damp, it definitely had opaque coverage and a stronger sheen. The texture was soft and blendable, though the eyeshadow itself was a bit denser and more firmly pressed in the pan (typical of this type of formula, in my experience). It wore well for seven and a half hours dry and nine hours damp.

Zephyr
Zephyr is a light-medium, peachy gold with warm undertones and pink to violet shifting sparkle. Applied dry, it had semi-sheer pigmentation (buildable to medium to semi-opaque when layered over primer) that stayed on well for seven and a half hours. Applied wet, it had nearly opaque coverage that wore well for eight and a half hours on me. The texture was soft, slightly dry but not in a bad way, and blendable on my skin.

Orphic
Orphic is a soft black base with teal-to-silver shifting sparkle and shimmer. It had semi-sheer coverage that was significantly more faded when applied dry compared to the dampened application, which yielded opaque coverage and greater intensity overall. The consistency was a touch drier compared to the other shades with a touch of excess product kicked up in the pan, but I did not have issues with fallout during application. It applied well to bare skin, blended out nicely, and lasted well for seven hours dry and eight and a half hours dampened.

Oooh I’m so excited that you reviewed this! I’ve been eyeing some of LH’s offerings but I was unsure… definitely less unsure now! This is so beautiful.
Pretty! I really want to try out something from this brand, perhaps this palette and some of the eye crayons. I believe you can only buy them on her online site from Sweden?
I believe so – that is where I purchased from!
This palette and the previous one you reviewed are really beautiful, but aren’t really suited for my face. But I just wanted to comment on how much I like the shade names on these palettes. (Not that it matters, but I like the creativity and that they’re a break from all the sex-oriented shade names these days.)
These are so pretty. I’d never heard of Linda Hallberg until recently.
Beautiful complimentary shades in this little quad. The only shade I really loved was Orphic and I have the perfect dupe in Editor’s Pick from bareMinerals.
Gorgeous eye look Christine. This brand is shaping up to have some lovely winners.
Really beautiful, and a lovely application on you! What is that amazing cheek-color you’re wearing, though??
Please click the link “Look Details,” which is right under the photo!
Gorgeous. I wonder if there’s any multibrand Swedish sites, like we have in the US? I think this and Idun are only available from dedicated sites. Hey, if you can order from Korea and Germany, why not Sweden? The pencils look unreal!
Between this and the previous Linda Halberg quad, I’m in love with the quality and versatility of her very complex shades! These are breathtaking!
This little quad is a lot of fun! I am not surprised to see it scores well. I use it as an accent palette. It is wonderful to spice a neutral look up! ?
Hi Christine, how would you compare the formula of these to the glittery iridescent shades in the Pat McGrath palettes?
The shimmer is finer than any of the glitter shades in PMG palettes.
I have been wanting to place an order on her website since she released both palettes but I want to try out all her other products too so I’m saving up to make a large purchase.I love duochromes this palette is stunning‼️
These are gorgeous!
Man I want this palette so bad!
I’d have a hard time ruining the gorgeous embossing on these pans!!
Okay, I’m not super familiar with Linda Hallberg, but she is killing it! Loving the designs of the pans in her quads, and the swatches look beautiful!
