Untamed

Lethal Cosmetics Untamed Pressed Multichrome Shadow ($9.00 for 0.056 oz.) had a more translucent base with multichrome shimmer that shifted from darker lavender to soft, yellowy gold to greenish-gold. It had a moderate shift, which was reflected in the price point.

  • Mostly opaque, buildable coverage
  • Soft, more loosely-pressed, lightly creamy
  • Applied evenly with minimal fallout, best applied with fingertip
  • Long-wearing (8 hours before fading noticeably)

Formula Overview

$9.00/0.056 oz. - $160.71 Per Ounce

The formula is supposed to have "amazing pigmentation and easy blendability" that won't crease or fade. The pigmentation varied from shade to shade as some were intentionally designed with translucent bases, so those were often sheerer initially and tended to use larger, more sparkly particles.

In general, the multichrome shifts were weaker and less apparent as many shades were pearl-like in their sheen, rather than ultra-shiny or intensely metallic as is more typical of multichrome eyeshadow releases. I think those who prefer a subtler sheen and aren't locked in to having the most magical of multichrome shifting formulas will find this a nice option. On the flip side, anyone who already has multichrome eyeshadows from other brands and prefers intensity will likely find these to miss the mark.

Most shades had semi-opaque to opaque pigmentation with fairly blendable formulas that weren't too powdery or too firmly-pressed into their pans, though they were sometimes a little too emollient or too thin. They wore around eight hours on average.

Flourish

Lethal Cosmetics Flourish Pressed Powder Shadow ($7.50 for 0.06 oz.) is a light-medium lavender with warmer, pink undertones and cooler blue-to-violet shifting sparkle.

  • Opaque coverage
  • Soft, more loosely-pressed, lightly emollient
  • Applied evenly and blended out well
  • Long-wearing (8 hours before fading noticeably)

FURTHER READING: Formula Overview for details on general performance and characteristics (like scent).

Formula Overview

$7.50/0.06 oz. - $125.00 Per Ounce

The formula is supposed to have "extreme pigmentation" and "effortless blendability" ... "that [will] last all day." There are two primary finishes: mattes and metallics, and the latter can also be used wet.

The matte finish has semi-opaque to opaque color coverage with moderate powderiness; it's a formula that is best used with a lighter hand. There was light fallout with some shades, though not at all, and they were blendable for the most part. Even with a light hand, there was still a bit of powderiness present--the brand did warn about using less with their formula--in the pan.

There were a few darker shades that had a tendency to sheer out when applied or did not apply as evenly, especially when layered over a lighter shade but most of the mid-tone and lighter shades were easy to apply and blend out. As a result, I found myself having better results by going dark to light rather than light to dark (which is more in line with how I typically work).

The metallic finish ranged from creamier, denser, and a bit thicker to softer, dense but still a little powdery (usually the lighter, more white-based shades). They were mostly opaque to fully opaque in a single layer, so they didn't need to be applied with a wet brush to achieve coverage or adhesion. I found that some of the more powdery, shimmery shades were more flattering on the lid when used with a fingertip or a dampened brush, though.

The matte eyeshadows tended to wear around eight hours on me before fading, while the shimmer shades lasted eight to eight and a half hours on me.
