Laura Mercier Golden Pink Sheer Creme Glow Review, Photos, Swatches
Laura Mercier Golden Pink Sheer Creme Glow
Laura Mercier Golden Pink Sheer Creme Glow ($35.00 for 0.28 oz.) is described as a “pinkish gold.” It’s a light pink–almost a cool-toned-pink–with a gold shimmer. Tarina Tarantino Feather (P, $25.00) is a powder, less shimmery. darker. Giorgio Armani Eccentrico (LE, $88.00) is brighter, darker. Milani Dolce Pink (P, $7.99) is a powder, slightly darker. Benefit Sugarbomb (P, $28.00) is a powder. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
It’s a new, limited edition formula/shade that’s supposed to provide a “soft veil of colour.” It’s described as an “ultra-sheer, blendable formula” that leaves the skin looking “soft and highlighted” and should last for eight hours. I wanted to love it, because I’m easily won over by gold-shimmered pinks, but it really emphasized the texture of my skin and the size of my pores. I felt like it just made my cheeks look rather rough, when I know they’re not. I’ve more metallic/frosted powder shades look worse, but for a cream, it wasn’t as forgiving as I expected. The color is sheer, as stated, but it’s quite shimmery, so it will add a sheen to most skin tones, but the pinky color will get lost on deeper skin tones. It was very blendable and easy to apply, and once on, it lasted for seven hours on me.
Golden Pink

It looks beautiful on you!
Thank you, Rikki!
Ooh, gorgeous!!
It’s a pretty shade for spring & summer!
It’s too bad it made your skin look rough, because the shade itself is very flattering.
It is a lovely shade, Leticia! Nice for summer, so I was sad that it didn’t look as great applied!
Very subtle, but it looks really pretty!
It is a gorg shade!
I know the rating isn’t the best but I am a sucker for shimmery pinks. It looks great on you!
Thanks, Ashley!
I feel like this miiight enhance my pores a bit, but it looks so stunning on you – I might just take the risk! 🙂
Ooh, also – just saw this is on sale on Nordstrom.com!
It does emphasize my pores somewhat!
This does have a lovely sheen, but too bad it wasn’t all that amazing.
It was so promising!
Ah only if the texture was a bit better when on! I hate whn cheek products emphasise pores! 🙁
Same here! I don’t need those to look worse, lol!
that’s very pretty! I can see how it emphasizes your skin texture though. That’s not always a bad thing in summer when I like skin dewier anyway.
As I get older, I’m like, “Oh… no, that’s okay, we can NOT advertise my pore size…”
I was so sold on this (and the way it looked on from the Guerlain lipstick review), my visa in hand and then you mentioned the kiss-of-death (IMO) description of, ’emphasizes pores’ and poof, my obsession of owning this product was gone. Too bad because it had so much going for it.
Sorry to burst your bubble, Helen! Hopefully there’s something similar that will work instead 🙂
I can totally understand being irritated with things that make your cheeks look rougher than they are (I have dry cheeks, so I’m bad enough without products that emphasise it!) but you do really look gorgeous in the last photo (as always). The colour is really lovely on you!
Aww, thank you, Sylirael! 🙂
It’s a pretty shade, but if it makes your skin look rough it will make mine look like the surface of the moon… Oh well, Laura Mercier is pretty expensive here, so it’s probably good I’m not a fan.
I really wanted it to work but that frost 🙁
I love this! I need it… 🙁
Enjoy, Erin!
Very pretty. Looks like theBalm’s Cindy-LouManizer to me.
Happy you thought it was pretty!
Looks gorgeous – what are you wearing on your lips in that photo??? Love the colour!
Laura Mercier Heartbreaker!
You can usually find the info at the end of the post! If there’s nothing listed, then I forgot, and feel free to ask 🙂
THE MAKEUP LOOK
On face: Guerlain Parure de Lumiere Foundation, Guerlain Les Voilettes Loose Powder, Josie Maran Illuminator. On eyes: Urban Decay Scorch Eyeliner. On lips: Laura Mercier Heartbreaker.
This looks a bit like the shadow in the Jouer Instant Chic collection, that one’s a bit peachier though and powder. I should try it as a blush
Definitely try it!
I bought it but can someone let me know how to apply it? Is it just for cheeks, is it for all over, is it for over or under foundation? Also, what do u apply it with? TIA!!
I would use it mostly on cheeks, since it is pretty shimmery! I like using a stippling brush.
