Laura Geller Love Me Dew Moisturizing Lip Crayon Trio ($25.00 for 0.30 oz.) includes three shades of jumbo-sized lip pencils that twist-up. The formula is supposed to be “ultra-hydrating” with “shiny color,” and it’s pretty much tinted lip balm. I believe this is the first time I’ve tried this formula, but I enjoyed them overall. They have sheer to semi-sheer that’s buildable, wears three to four hours, and is hydrating over time. I like that they twist-up, so you don’t have to worry about wasting product when sharpening. The texture is lightweight with moderate slip, so their biggest downfall is that they don’t always look perfectly even. The formula is vanilla-scented but the scent didn’t linger or translate into a taste for me. Dragon Fruit Sorbet and Mango Sorbet are both available as permanent singles, while I didn’t see Fig Prosecco on Laura Geller’s website, and they retail for $16 as a standalone formula (so the kit is worth $48).

Fig Prosecco is a softened, peachy-brown with warm undertones and very fine, golden peach pearl. It had semi-opaque coverage that went on evenly and smoothly while hydrating the lips over the three and a half hours it lasted. Guerlain Gracieuse (DC, $51.00) is darker. MAC Posh Tone (P, $22.00) is less shimmery. NARS Peloponnese (P, $26.00) is darker, brighter, less glossy. shu uemura OB Dream Orange (LE, $30.00) is glossier. Maybelline Stormy Sahara (945) (P, $7.49) is less shimmery. Givenchy Beige Caraco (107) (P, $36.00) is less shimmery, lighter. Bite Beauty Caramel (P, $28.00) is lighter. Charlotte Tilbury Hepburn Honey (P, $32.00) is less shimmery, lighter. bareMinerals Fall in Love (LE, $20.00) is less shimmery, darker. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

Mango Sorbet is a muted, medium pink-coral with warm undertones and a glossy sheen. It had sheer coverage that gave lips more of a tinted/stained appearance, while the glossier finish made lips appear plumper. It wore well for three hours but was hydrating over time. MAC Play It Soft (LE, $20.00) is cooler. Estee Lauder Charmed (P, $30.00) is more pigmented. Estee Lauder Surreal Sun (P, $30.00) is brighter, more pigmented. Givenchy Corail Decollete (206) (P, $36.00) is less glossy. MAC Call the Hairdresser! (LE, $16.00) is more pigmented. NYX Haute Melon (P, $4.00) is more pigmented. Chanel Boheme (91) (P, $35.00) is glossier. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

Dragon Fruit Sorbet is a brightened, fuchsia pink with cool, blue undertones and a glossy finish. It had semi-sheer coverage that applied easily without dragging. There was a little extra slip to this one, so it seemed to show “lines” if you pressed your lips together (I’d recommend applying a little less and pressing lips together to check). It wore well for almost four hours on me and was moisturizing while worn. MAC Glamorized (LE, $20.00) is lighter. Chanel Jean (454) (P, $36.00) is less glossy. Urban Decay Ladyflower (LE, $22.00) is more pigmented, less glossy. MAC Boutique Pink (LE, $22.00) is lighter, brighter. MAC Lust Extract (LE, $17.00) is lighter, brighter. MAC Bold Spring (P, $22.00) is lighter, brighter. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

Too sheer for me, but the colors are pretty for summer, and it’s very affordable. Hope she comes out with other kits that are more opaque

I have always wanted to try these but never actually bit the bullet. Do you think the formula is more similar to the original Clinique Chubby Sticks or the MAC Patentpolishes?

Olivia Avatar

Nice, I was wondering about these… I do wish Mango Sorbet was a tiny bit more pigmented. I think I would enjoy the formula of these.

These look to be a really excellent deal for the $! I love Fig Prosecco and Dragon Fruit Sorbet the best out of the three! Mango Sorbet looks a *little* too sheer for me unless I wear lipliner under it.

So happy to see this review – and that Nordstrom has picked up the Laura Geller Beauty line !
LG is one of my favorite makeup lines Ever, especially the baked products.

I bought these after I saw you mentioned them in an earlier column. I loved the colors and they were exactly what I was looking for. I love them!!! The colors are gorgeous all, and I just can’t pick a favorite!!! They are everything you said, and more!! I’m so glad you gave them a good grade too! I have a golden tan complexion…year round, and they look great on me. I hope they come out with something for the winter months too.
