Lancome Rubiez (473) L’Absolu Rouge Ruby Cream Lipstick ($32.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a rich, medium-dark brick red with warmer undertones and a cream finish. The lipstick had a firmer, denser feel going on my lips, which didn’t really melt or warm up initially, but as the color continued to sit on my lips, the formula ended up being rather comfortable to wear; it was lighter-weight with good adhesion but was flexible, non-clingy, and didn’t gather in my lip lines or catch on lip texture. It had rich color payoff that wore well for over six hours and felt hydrating while worn.

The formula is supposed to be "long-lasting," "richly-pigmented," and "hydrating" with "one-stroke application." The lipstick is denser with more tackiness, so it did seem to pull/drag on my lips during application a bit, though it delivered semi-opaque to opaque coverage that adhered evenly and was longer-wearing over time.
I'd recommend using shorter, more overlapping strokes to apply the color rather than a more continuous stroke, as this was comfortable and delivered full coverage and a smooth laydown of color overall. Surprisingly, the texture felt more like a traditional lipstick, the kind with more slip and creaminess, once on my lips, but it had better adhesion, which kept it in place better and prevented it from accumulating in my lip lines. Most shades wore five to six hours on me and were lightly hydrating.
There was a noticeable, powdery floral scent that translated slightly into a taste at times. It was a stronger scented product where I smelled it for a few hours into the wear, not just in the tube or when initially applied.

Lancome Pigeon Blood Ruby (481) L’Absolu Rouge Ruby Cream Lipstick ($32.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a rich, medium-dark burgundy with warmer undertones and a cream finish. It had nearly opaque pigmentation that applied evenly to my lips and was forgiving of my lip texture/lip lines. The texture was firmer, a little denser in the tube, and it didn’t really warm up in the time it took for me to apply it all over my lips.
I’d recommend doing shorter, more overlapping strokes rather than a longer stroke as it dragged a little doing that. The formula was comfortable to wear, though, as it was lightweight and definitely warmed up after sitting on my lips for a few minutes. It stayed on nicely for six and a half hours and felt lightly moisturizing over time.

Pigeon Blood Ruby is stunning! Especiallly for such a rich burgundy. I do love that it is warmer than my MAC Diva, too.
But, Rubiez is no slouch, either! Very beautiful warmer red that I could see being lovely to use as a daytime red lip that would effortlessly go into night!
Lancome make one of my favourite Lipstick formulas (these, and YSL rouge voluptes), and these reds are gorgeeeousss. I so dont need these, but they might fall into my cart eventually

The brand did not invent the term. It actually is a gemologist’s term for a rather specific color of natural or heat treated ruby. Had I not heard it when my mum was a jeweler, it would seem a tad nasty.

Pigeon Blood is gorgeous If I wore dark lipsticks I’d grab this one. Lancôme just does lipstick right!

I actually used one of my old Lancome lipsticks this past week. Still lovely, still very good even though I’m sure it’s well over five years old, might be double that even. I know! But it hasn’t turned bad, not at all.
I will be less catty in the comment section this time; but I still REALLY hate looking at these bullet shapes for some reason……The colors aren’t for me, but that’s just because my lips amp pink until it’s a cartoon and these would look magenta on me instead of red.
