Lancome Amber Lights & Pink Lights Click & Glow Highlighting Skin Fluids Reviews, Photos, Swatches
Amber Lights
Lancome Amber Lights Click & Glow Highlighting Skin Fluid ($23.00 for 0.08 oz.) is a dirty, medium gold with brownish undertones and a luminous finish. It seemed a little like an antique gold, though it seemed warmer and brighter than a true antique gold to my eye. The consistency was smooth, lightweight, a little mousse-y but still more like a liquid than anything else. It had semi-sheer to medium, buildable coverage that blended decently but had a tendency to look patchy (I tried using a few different blushes as well as fingertips and always saw the same, slightly uneven results). It lasted for eight hours on me.
The formula is described as buildable, though it is designed to give skin a “barely-there shimmer” and a “natural-looking glow.” It has a more unique, foamy, sponge-tipped applicator to disperse and apply the product, which I wasn’t in love with (did not seem to do well at blending, building, or doing anything other than transferring product from the interior to my face) and seemed to soak up quite a bit of product. The formula wasn’t as thin as a typical liquid highlighter, though it wasn’t thick or heavy either; almost like a watery mousse. I had the best luck blending with fingertips, which maneuvered and spread the product without lifting it. They dried down within a minute or so, and the wear time was between seven and eight hours. I’d describe the glow as light to moderate as the coverage was buildable from sheer to semi-sheer. Worth noting, the pen delivery system does not contain that much product, particularly when we’re talking about liquid highlighters.

Pink Lights
Lancome Pink Lights Click & Glow Highlighting Skin Fluid ($23.00 for 0.08 oz.) is a golden beige with subtle, warm undertones and a pearly sheen. It had sheer coverage that was buildable to semi-sheer. The texture was definitely liquidy, but there was more substance to it so it did not seem runny or watery. I blended it with fingertips to get the most even, smooth application. There was a noticeable sheen that did not read glittery or noticeably shimmery. It wore well for seven and a half hours on me.

Reminds me of the Kiko cushion highlighters!
That’s good to know!
Forget about the product itself – I HATE the “delivery system”. It reminds me of the Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer which is a great product in the WORST container. I’m not a germ-o-phobe but even I get sort of icked out by how dirty that “bingo dabber” applicator looks. The thing I don’t like about my Cargo concealer – a great concealer – is also the applicator which is similar but not nearly as bad as the Maybelline or, it seems, this one. That you don’t get much product for your $$$ is another negative for me.
Yeah, I think a more standard delivery system makes more sense! 🙂
You took the words right out of my mouth!
Amber Lights is pretty, but that applicator, ugh, reminds me of fuzzy caterpillars, creepie crawlies
LOL!
Umm, nope. A big nope, at that. I hate those types of applicators for one, and the formula sounds less than ideal, too. I’ll stick to those new Nyx Away We Glow liquid highlighters instead!
I’m not a fan of the applicator either!
I’m not a fan of the packing, to be honest. But I like the shades here!!
Totally understand – it’s not the kind of applicator I prefer either!
This looks like fun! I’m kind of into different types of applicators so this looks pretty interesting!
Let us know if you try it, Stephanie!
I am thinking the cosmetic brands are trying to come up with the ‘next big thing’ (which I would do if I owned a makeup company) – but for me this applicator just looks wonky.
I guess they get a few points for trying, lol!
I like the look and use of a pen but it seems like a not a lot of product for a lot of money.
