Kevyn Aucoin Sunlight The Celestial Powder

Kevyn Aucoin Sunlight The Celestial Powder ($44.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a shimmering, golden brown with warm, yellow undertones and a frosted sheen. Kevyn Aucoin Sunlight (P, $52.00) is less shimmery, warmer (95% similar). CoverGirl Bronze (200) (DC, $9.99) is less shimmery (95% similar). Kevyn Aucoin Tropical Days (P, $48.00) is lighter, cooler (90% similar). Tarte Park Ave Princess (PiP, ) is darker (95% similar). Becca Topaz (P, $38.00) is more shimmery (95% similar). MAC Global Glow (P, $34.00) is lighter (90% similar). Viseart Highlight #3 (PiP, ) is brighter, warmer (90% similar). Makeup Geek Sunlight (LE, $20.00) is more shimmery, lighter, cooler (90% similar). elf Summer Fridays (P, $7.00) is lighter, warmer (90% similar). Wet 'n' Wild Go With the Glow (P, $5.99) is darker, glossier (90% similar). Bobbi Brown Sunkissed Glow (P, $48.00) is more shimmery, cooler (90% similar). Tower 28 Gold Coast (P, $20.00) is less shimmery, warmer (85% similar). Fenty Beauty Afternoon Snack (PiP, $36.00) is lighter (85% similar). Wet 'n' Wild Awesome Blossom (P, ) is more shimmery (85% similar). Laura Mercier Translucent Medium Deep (P, $38.00) is lighter, brighter (85% similar). Anastasia Iced Out (P, $34.00) is less shimmery, lighter, less pigmented (85% similar). elf Sun Chaser (P, $7.00) is darker, warmer (80% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

The Celestial Powder is supposed to give “an agenlic glow” that doesn’t look “glittery.” There are now three shades in the range (the other two are Candlelight and Starlight), and Sunlight is more comparable to Starlight, as it has more color oomph and stronger shimmer compared to Candlelight (which is particularly nice for those who like subtle to moderate highlighters). This is more of a highlighting bronzer, as it adds a lot of glow and luminosity to the skin, but it does add warmth. It is very pigmented, but the texture is soft, blendable, and forgiving, so it can easily be applied with a lighter hand for barely-there golden sheen or more intensely for true-to-pan bronzing. The consistency of the powder was smooth and finely-milled, and this didn’t emphasize my pores or skin texture. It wore well for almost nine hours on me before fading.

Happy they finally released a shade that will work on darker skintones and that it performs so well!
I love Candelight but I think I’m right on the border of where I can use it without it looking ashy – I can’t see it working on someone on the darker side of medium and above, but this should be gourgeous!

Ohhh I saw this when I was buying my Starlight and I was hoping you would do a review! I should have known it would be another A+! The Celestial Powders are just so dreamy. I think I will be a Starlight girl for life- there is just something so pretty and unique about that color- but for those looking for more of a bronze, this is really beautiful.

Slight off topic, but I was totally uninterested in the Too Faced palette after reading you review, but seeing it on you from a distance, I really love the colors. LOL!

It’s sooo pretty. I am getting fatigued with all the new lippie releases lately; glad to see some good quality face products hitting the shelves!

Wow, it’s stunning! Love the gold shimmer. Thank goodness I have the Cover Girl dupe, or I’ll be out $44! It’s too dark for me as bronzer, but I use lightly as a blush and spot highlighter
