Pink Sand

Kevyn Aucoin Pink Sand The Neo-Blush Trio ($38.00 for 0.20 oz.) blends together to create a medium pink with strong, warm undertones and a luminous finish. It could also be applied more in a gradient on the skin as it appeared in the pan, which gave it a stronger pink hue on the apples of my cheeks. The texture as a whole was soft, blendable, and easy to work with and had good pigmentation in a single layer. Together, it wore well for eight and a half hours on me. Individually, two shades were pigmented but one was more medium coverage (but buildable), and all three wore for at least eight hours on me.

Formula Overview

$38.00/0.2 oz. - $190.00 Per Ounce

Each trio includes a mix of pearl, satin, and matte blushes that gently "fade into each other" with a "micro-fine pressed powder" that feels like "silk" with "intensely pigmented color." The shades can be used individually or swirled together, per the brand. It is easiest to use the blush half-and-half or altogether, but a tapered highlighting brush can fit into each of the three sections without much fuss. The texture was, generally, soft and blendable with pigmentation that varied shade by shade but was usually more pigmented than not. It was harder to keep the matte shades truly matte as once I used the blush together, it was hard to completely remove any residual shimmer from the matte shade(s).

Pink Sand #1

Pink Sand #1 is a light-medium pink with soft, warm undertones and a frosted finish. It was richly pigmented with a soft, blendable texture that wasn’t too soft nor too firm in the pan. The blush applied evenly and the edges blended out with ease. It wore well for eight hours on me before fading.

Pink Sand #2

Pink Sand #2 is a medium pink with warmer undertones and a mostly matte finish. It had medium, buildable pigmentation that applied well to bare skin with even application that blended out nicely along the edges. The color stayed on well for eight hours before I started to see some fading.

Pink Sand #3

Pink Sand #3 is a medium, peachy coral with warm undertones and a mostly matte finish. It had good color coverage in a single layer, which could be built up to full coverage with a second layer. The blush had a soft, silky texture that wasn’t too powdery in the pan yet still was easy to pickup on my brush and blended out beautifully on my cheeks. I noticed slight fading after eight and a half hours of wear.

Horray, it’s basically Shadore and Dolline put together with a touch of MAC Just a Wisp (or any other pearly light pink, like the new Physician’s Formula Butter in Pink) added on top!
