Skinship

Kaleidos Skinship Cloud Lab Lip Clay ($12.00 for 0.08 oz.) is a light, peachy brown with moderate, warm undertones and a semi-matte finish. The texture was lightweight, smooth, and mousse-like, though there was a touch of “pilling” in places, though it wasn’t noticeable by feel or visible at a normal viewing distance (just the close-up photo). It had semi-opaque, buildable pigmentation that lasted well for four and a half hours on me and felt non-drying.

Formula Overview

$12.00/0.08 oz. - $150.00 Per Ounce

The formula is supposed to have a "cream-to-powder texture" that is "kiss-proof once set" with a "silky and weightless" feel on the lips. The brand didn't specifically make any claims about pigmentation in their description, but the promotional swatches included at the point of purchase show fully opaque coverage across the board.

They have a very lightweight, mousse-like texture that was very lightweight, velvety, and smooth with good spreadability. The applicator held a good amount of product without being too generous, as I did not feel like I had to wipe off excess. They took a few minutes to dry down, and the dry down time varied a little between some shades. They were forgiving of most lip texture and weren't too prone to emphasizing lip lines or settling into them.

Most shades had opaque color coverage in one layer of product. With deeper shades, two layers tended to be better for full, even coverage, despite the shades themselves being quite pigmented in a single layer, but they were more prone to spreading and diffusing unevenly. The shades tended to dry down within 15 minutes with some doing so within five minutes to a more transfer-resistant finish.

The formula wore between four and eight hours on me with deeper, reddish shades lasting longer and leaving subtle stains behind. They felt non-drying over time. I did not notice any scent or taste.

Smeared Rouge

Kaleidos Smeared Rouge Cloud Lab Lip Clay ($12.00 for 0.08 oz.) is a deep red with cooler undertones and a satin finish. It had medium to semi-opaque coverage with more slip than most of the Lip Clays I’ve tested to-date, which made it have a less-even application and more prone to catching on lip texture imperfections.

The feel of the formula was still more mousse-like and velvety, though. It stayed on well for over six hours and left a stain behind, while it felt non-drying to wear.

Skinship looks like such a good mlbb color! And Smeared Rouge is a great red. But I will say I don’t love the texture in those close up swatches and a B on a red never flies with me. I hate babysitting colors to start with, so it needs to go on and STAY on with minimal fiddling if I’m going to buy it.
