Kaja Beauty Toy Alien Mochi Glow Bouncy Blendable Highlighter Reviews & Swatches
Toy Alien
Kaja Toy Alien Mochi Glow Bouncy Blendable Highlighter ($19.00 for 0.15 oz.) is a pale gold with strong, warm undertones and a sparkling, metallic sheen. It had buildable pigmentation from semi-sheer to semi-opaque with a smooth, lightly emollient texture. The cream-powder hybrid felt spongy if I pressed firmly enough on the surface but was more powder than cream, especially as it felt quite powder-like on my fingertip or when applied to my face. The product applied well to bare skin as well as over foundation as it did not lift up my base. It wore well for eight hours on me before fading noticeably.

Formula Overview
$19.00/0.15 oz. - $126.67 Per Ounce
The formula is a "cream-to-powder highlighter" that "feels like a cream and finishes like a powder." It has "natural-looking radiance" designed to be applied with "fingertips." The highlighters had a smooth, denser consistency in the pot with a light sponginess if pressed firmly. They had subtle slip but felt more powder-like than cream-like, especially as soon as my finger swirled the product once or twice. The product applied well to bare skin and decently over base products, but I found the thinner, quick-dry texture didn't always play well with base products and could lift them up.
They were blendable and had "natural-looking radiance" as described. The pigmentation was more semi-sheer to medium, slightly buildable, while they were described as buildable, so it was mostly accurate. They lasted between seven and eight hours on me.

Really, really pretty! At the risk of missing the obvious, I looked at the “look details” and don’t see this product listed anywhere. Where on your face did you use it, Christine? I’m trying to get a sense of how golden and how shimmery it is applied on the face/cheekbones.
Hi Mariella,
The details are for all of the OTHER products on my face — same as I’ve listed the details in the past — because everything else stayed the same while I applied anywhere from 5-15 cheek colors. As always, it is on the cheek that is most “facing” you, which is “right” to you.
I will confess that the name is one of the main reasons this highlighter appeals to me. That and its light, warm-but-not-TOO-warm sheeniness.
Great name! Too bad they couldn’t put a wee alien or mini UFO design on the top cover, and a pressing. But, I guess J* already did that. Kind of wishing that the HL wagon train would round ‘em up, and head out of town. They are starting to look awfully similar. Usually find I have a dupe or ‘close enough.’ But, I guess the market is not yet saturated. And plenty of users can differentiate among tiny increments of pale gold. That’s what you do when you love a product.
I like it.
What a hilarious name for a highlighter! But, I love it! ???
Well, that said, I believe it’s time to use Now’s The Time again. Also, that lovely Cream Base by MAC from the Maria Moretti collection from a few years ago, too.
I like the shade name more than anything else!
The name is so cute and the color is so nice . I don’t usually wear highlighters but I may have to try this out sometime .
Great timing for your review! This was listed as a spoiler in the Sephora Play! box for June. I’m hoping I get it because I’ve been eyeing it for a while. Glad to see such high marks from you!
What a gorgeous pale gold shade it is.
