Inglot x Jennifer Lopez DS Eyeshadows Reviews, Photos, Swatches (Part 2)
J323 Walnut
Inglot J323 Walnut Jennifer Lopez DS Eyeshadow ($10.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a soft, taupe-brown with flecks of gold sparkle over a matte finish. The eyeshadow had a soft, blendable texture, but the flecks of sparkle didn’t bind with the base color, so there was fallout during application/wear (nothing for those sparkles to adhere to). It had good pigmentation that stayed on well for seven and a half hours on me.

Formula Overview
$10.00/0.1 oz. - $100.00 Per Ounce
The formula is described as having a "matte base" and "an ultra-sparkling finish." The brand says that the eyeshadows "boast rich color and a silky touch" that "lasts for hours." (Though they also say "blend shadows freely and play with buildable colors," which is contradictory; when there are contradicting claims, I defer to the "harder" one to meet, e.g. pigmentation.) Most shades are semi-opaque to opaque, but the textures are soft and forgiving enough that one could build the color up more gradually by using a lighter hand. I'm not a big fan of the sparkles-over-matte finish, as I find that it results in a lot of fallout during application, little that actually gets onto the lid, and then more fallout over time of whatever did land on my lid initially. If they had included finer satin or pearl, I could see that aiding in blending and application, but the larger sparkle size is something I've never quite understood since it doesn't stick around most of the time. The underlying base colors were blendable and lasted between seven and eight hours on me.

J327 Charcoal
Inglot J327 Charcoal Jennifer Lopez DS Eyeshadow ($10.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a sooty black with warmer, brown undertones and flecks of gold and copper sparkle. It had semi-opaque, buildable pigmentation with a slightly drier, more powdery texture, but it blended out well and didn’t have too much fallout from the base color, just the sparkly bits. It wore well for seven hours before fading noticeably, though there was some additional fallout during wear.

J329 Taupe
Inglot J329 Taupe Jennifer Lopez DS Eyeshadow ($10.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a soft, taupe-brown with neutral-to-warm undertones and flecks of gold and copper micro-sparkle over a matte finish. The sparkles barely translated in a swatch, let alone on the lid, and it ended up looking more like a matte eyeshadow on my lid, though there was fallout during application. The texture was soft, smooth, and blendable without being powdery. It had opaque coverage that lasted nicely for seven and a half hours on me.

J333 Sheer Gold
Inglot J333 Sheer Gold Jennifer Lopez DS Eyeshadow ($10.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a soft, peachy-beige with warm undertones and flecks of copper sparkle over a matte finish. It had good pigmentation, though not quite opaque, paired with a soft, lightly dusty texture that had some excess product kicked up in the pan. The sparkles dropped off my lid when I applied the color, and there was continued fallout (of what little was left on the lid) during wear. This shade stayed on well for seven hours.

J335 Pearl
Inglot J335 Pearl Jennifer Lopez DS Eyeshadow ($10.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a soft, yellowed beige with warm undertones and flecks of gold and copper sparkle over a matte finish. The texture was soft and somewhat powdery, which resulted in the color sheering out quite a bit. I would only use this with a primer due to the sheerness and powderiness. It had semi-sheer coverage, which did not build up, and lasted for six hours on me with fallout over time.

J337 Pumpkin
Inglot J337 Pumpkin Jennifer Lopez DS Eyeshadow ($10.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a burnt orange with warm, rosy undertones and flecks of gold sparkle over a matte finish. The pigmentation was fantastic, while the consistency was soft, smooth, and just a touch dusty in the pan. It blended out easily and adhered well to bare skin for seven and a half hour wear. The biggest downside was that the majority of the sparkles dropped off my lid when I blended out the eyeshadow initially.

I swatched this collection in store, and thought it was a very mixed bag in terms of quality. The shades with the gold sparkles were the prettiest, but sad to hear those so much fallout from the sparkles
I never comment (I’m a lurker), but I just had to come here and say…WHY do brands keep doing matte eyeshadows WITH glitter?!?!?! I have never seen one work. The glitter never adheres and there’s always tons of fallout!!!
/end rant. I apologize for getting so irate, but this really irritates me. Anyone else?
I so wish Charcoal had performed better….it looks so promising in the pan.
This has to be the most lackluster debut ever! It’s almost as if Jennifer doesn’t even know this Collection exists. No promotion, hype, nothing. I don’t think Inglot being a smaller , owned, family brand understands what advertising and promotion will do for a collection. I don’t think I have seen Jennifer wants promote this line.
Later on if you get to the highlights etc.. I felt it was too pricey for the amount given.
Beth, I agree that the marketing was not great but JLo has a site dedicated to her collab with Inglot : https://jenniferlopezinglot.com/
Some of the products were available on her website for direct buy for a limited period of time before the collection launched officially. Right now if you want to buy from her site you are directed to the country where you live (Inglot stores/website). I’m subscribed to Inglot’s newsletter and I got a preview of the launch a couple of months ago. I’m sure that many bloggers and MUAs got the news about the launch but they chose not to promote it or at least announce it on their blogs. And that’s unfortunate as I think that at least you can announce the collaboration.
My problem with them is that they don’t have stores in major cities here in Canada (i.e. Montreal) and that I have to go to Toronto if I want to see their products in person. Also, the swatches are non existent on their website.
I’m not sure why JLo went with this eyeshadow formula. Sparkles in a matte base type of e/s are very difficult to get right, and these seem to be not. Wondering whether using a slightly sticky or moisturizing e/s primer could make the microglitter attach in application and stay put without causing the matte base to go splotchy?
It might help a little – I am not a huge fan of using a sticky base with really matte eyeshadows, though 🙁
You’re a lifesaver. My sister loves J-Lo and I want surprise her with things from this collection for her birthday. Looks like I’m sticking to highlighters and lip products unless you somehow get to review everything else from the launch.
Nope, still underwhelmed by the shades, the finishes and the quality.
Perfectly stated, Genevieve! I couldn’t write a more apt summary.
Love Charcoal so much but not with a C+ rating and all the fall out.
I’m so thankful for your swatches. I thought I was going to want every single eyeshadow released in this collection. I don’t want a single one so far. You make me save a lot of money <3
For my fellow Canadians, you can also buy Inglot products online at https://getdollied.ca/
I will go to Toronto at the end of this month and I will check some pieces from this collection in store. Since there is no Inglot store in Montreal, everything that I bought from them was online.
I love Taupe (not too brownish and not too reddish). I’m also interested in the blush, some of the lipsticks and glosses.
