J309 Olive

Inglot J309 Olive Jennifer Lopez DS Eyeshadow ($10.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a muted, medium green with warm undertones and flecks of gold sparkle over a matte finish. The base was pigmented and had a smooth, velvety texture that was easy to work with and applied well, but those sparkles just didn’t bind that well with the base so that most of the sparkles fell off my lid while I blended and applied the color. The eyeshadow stayed on well for eight hours but had additional fallout over time.

Formula Overview

$10.00/0.1 oz. - $100.00 Per Ounce

The formula is described as having a "matte base" and "an ultra-sparkling finish." The brand says that the eyeshadows "boast rich color and a silky touch" that "lasts for hours." (Though they also say "blend shadows freely and play with buildable colors," which is contradictory; when there are contradicting claims, I defer to the "harder" one to meet, e.g. pigmentation.) Most shades are semi-opaque to opaque, but the textures are soft and forgiving enough that one could build the color up more gradually by using a lighter hand. I'm not a big fan of the sparkles-over-matte finish, as I find that it results in a lot of fallout during application, little that actually gets onto the lid, and then more fallout over time of whatever did land on my lid initially. If they had included finer satin or pearl, I could see that aiding in blending and application, but the larger sparkle size is something I've never quite understood since it doesn't stick around most of the time. The underlying base colors were blendable and lasted between seven and eight hours on me.

J313 Honey

Inglot J313 Honey Jennifer Lopez DS Eyeshadow ($10.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a soft, peachy orange with warm undertones and fine, flecks of gold sparkle over a matte finish. It had good color payoff in a single layer that applied well to bare skin with good, even adhesion, but the sparkles did not bind well with the base so there was some fallout during application and more throughout wear with whatever made it to the lid. It lasted for seven and a half hours on me.

J317 Eggplant

Inglot J317 Eggplant Jennifer Lopez DS Eyeshadow ($10.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a muted, plummyb rown with subtle, warm undertones and flecks of gold sparkle over a matte finish. It had sheer coverage with a drier, more loosely-pressed consistency that had a ton of excess product that kicked up in the pan. It was hard to apply, as the color did not adhere well to bare skin (primer was somewhat better but not impressive). There was a lot of fallout during wear, and it only wore for six and a half hours before visibly fading on me.

J319 Crimson

Inglot J319 Crimson Jennifer Lopez DS Eyeshadow ($10.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a muted, medium plum with warm, red undertones and flecks of gold sparkle over a matte finish. It had medium coverage, but the color looked a lot more faded compared to the shade in the pan, and primer did not improve the intensity. The texture was drier and a little grainy, which made it particularly prone to fallout and sheering out on the lid. The sparkles also fell off my lid when I blended out the eyeshadow in practice. This shade lasted for six hours and also had slight fallout over time.

J321 Rich Gold

Inglot J321 Rich Gold Jennifer Lopez DS Eyeshadow ($10.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a soft, yellowed brown with warm undertones and flecks of gold sparkle over a matte finish. The eyeshadow had opaque pigmentation that applied evenly and smoothly to bare skin, excepting all the sparkly bits that did not bind well with the base color, so those had a tendency to drop off my lid when I blended out the base color. The texture was soft, blendable, and just a smidgen dusty in the pan. It stayed on well for eight hours before fading slightly.

These could have been fantastic if not for those silly gold flecks of microglitter, I believe. I don’t know why Inglot would have chanced it by adding this to their usually well loved eyeshadow formula, though? Too bad about Eggplant, because it looks like an Orlane eyeshadow that I used to death in the very late 70’s into early 80’s. Probably had it for 3 ½ to 4

Oh, Inglot, I used to love your eyeshadows SO MUCH. Sadly, not so much now and it’s not me, it’s YOU. Christine, I find the finish confusing….their DS finishes used to have a quite a definite sheen but these – glitter and yet a matte finish (this might explain the fallout you encounter over the wear-time). And the colour Gold – it doesn’t look “gold” at all.

Do you think perhaps you’re thinking of their Pearl or AMC Shine finish? I only remember DS being matte with sparkle.

That’s entirely possible and I might have avoided the DS finish because I thought it would be as problematic as some of UD’s glitter ghastlies…MCRA and Maui Wowie, for example. I guess these are a very different finish than what I was thinking of.

I absolutely love the olive shade!! I’ve been wearing it nonstop since purchasing. Didn’t have any issue with the gold fallout.

Ah no – these shades look poorly pigmented and washed out to me – not the usual Inglot standard at all.
Very wishy washy at best.

Really liking the colour in the pans but they don’t seem to have performed well.
From your look, am loving the copper and deep amethyst shades.

Ah, I was excited about this collaboration and I was hoping these would have good rates. A missed opportunity for Inglot.

I was never really a fan of the DS finish, but still, given how warm these colors are their performance is especially sad. I know they can do better!

I’m disappointed by the quality despite how nice the shadows look when swatched. The olive shade is certainly the winner of the bunch.

Wow, usually Inglots colors are across the board fabulous. I don’t know what happened with this collection. I still love that olive color despite the microglitter issue.
