Illamasqua Flirtatious Velvet Blusher Review, Photos, Swatches
Illamasqua Flirtatious Velvet Blusher
Illamasqua Flirtatious Velvet Blusher ($32.00 for 0.18 oz.) is described as a “soft pink.” It’s a light-medium, peach-coral with warm undertones and a satin-matte finish. Makeup Geek Bliss (P, $9.99) is lighter, powder. Tom Ford Beauty Unabashed Blush (LE, $55.00) is powder. Sleek MakeUP Newport Peach (P) is pinker. NARS Final Cut (LE, $29.00) is brighter, powder. Make Up For Ever #215 HD Blush (P, $26.00) is very similar. Hourglass Diffused Heat (P, $35.00) is pinker, powder. bareMinerals Swoon (LE, $19.00) is powder. Fyrinnae Nordic Angel (P, $6.50) is darker, powder. MAC Immortal Flower (LE, $21.00) is lighter, powder. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
It had good color payoff, but as it is a light-medium color and I’m about medium in skin tone, the blush isn’t very visible on me. I think this would work much better on other skin tones. The texture is lightly creamy but dries down to a mostly matte, powder-like finish–there’s no tackiness after it sets (which is shortly after it is applied to the skin). It is difficult to overdo, as the formula is very forgiving and easily blended out for softer, sheerer color if desired. The formula was long-wearing and stayed on for eight and a half hours before starting to fade.
This is/was available at Bloomingdale’s, but it may only be available in-stores. It is available through Illamasqua’s website as well.

Oh such a pretty color! I wish it was more pigmented than that.. I am planning to add the new MUFE HD blushes, will check the dupe for this out as well.
There’s a bit more brightness in the MUFE shade, so it does show up a bit better on me than this one.
I have this huge fondness for Illamasqua and they have a number of products which I feel are underrated or do not garner enough attention. This is one of them. I love their cream blushes!
I was SO sad to see them leave Sephora 🙁
What a beautiful color and texture! I always regret that I can’t easily get my hands on illamasqua products where I am in Canada. 🙁
Can you order directly from Illamasqua? I have no idea what the exchange rate is between the Canadian dollar and British pounds, though.
You can get Illamasqua in hudson’s bay or sephora
I’m in Canada and I order directly from Illamasqua website in UK. I usually try to place orders when I have a number of items to buy since shipping runs fairly expensive. I always step up to signed for packages due to some healthy paranoia from past theft.
Is the shade similar to Illamasqua Rude?
Rude is darker, brighter, more vibrant! It also has a different finish on the skin. http://www.temptalia.com/submit-dupe?sbs=1&pid=101826&dupe=169152
Thanks! I used Rude before and it gave my a really fresh vibrant look, esp in the morning. But it wasn’t long lasting on my skin :/
I am so upset Sephora got rid of Illamasqua. This is beautiful.
Me too!
I don’t see much pink in it! Looks great on you and I think even though it’s warm with it’s formula cooler colored gals might be able to make it work with a light hand.
Very, very slight! Just enough to keep it from being orange.
Christine, the name of this lipstick is written “Fliratious” instead of “FlirTatious” on the GLOSSOVER and on THE DUPE LIST. A sisterly hug.
Thanks!
Hi Christine! This is off topic but what shade of the UD finishing powder are you wearing? If looks so pretty on your skin.
Hey Daisies!
I use Medium Light most of the time!
This is really nice. I am SUUUPES pale so I bet it’d work well on me. I haven’t tried the velvet blush yet because I found all the other shades either extremely dark/bright, or too similar to shades I already have so I’m checking this out for sure!
I think it totally would, Crystal!
very pretty! i’ve never used any velvet blushers… are they cream?
Cream-to-powder!
Pretty color
Is it one you’d wear?
The blush might not be super strong on you, but I really like it with that MJ lipgloss you paired it with! You haz the skillz, lady 🙂
Thank you!! 🙂
Definitely wont show up on me if it barely shows up on lol but looks so pretty in the pan!!What this post really reminded me of is the UD finishing powder thats been on my wishlist for a while!! That gloss is gorjyusss too Christine!
Thank you, Dee!
