Please help us streamline the comments' section and be more efficient: double-check the post above for more basic information like pricing, availability, and so on to make sure your question wasn't answered already. We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

1. Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel Cream (holy grail!);
2. PYUNKANG YUL Deep Clear Cleansing Balm (this stuff is amazing);
3. Hempz Body Lotion in Green Tea and Asian Pear;
4. Garnier micellar cleansing water
5. Oldie but still a goodie imo – Noxema Cream.
Dear, Klairs Supple Preparation Toner Unscented
Sulwhasoo First Care Activating Serum
Numbuzin No.3 Super Glowing Essence Toner
Sulwhasoo Essential Comfort Firming Cream
Dr.G Green Mild Up Sun+
CeraVe Hydrating Foaming Cleanser
The Ordinary Glycolic Acid Toner
The Ordinary The Buffet with Copper Peptides Serum
La Roche Posay Toleriane Double Repair Face Moisturizer with Niacinamide
DermaE Peptide and Collegen Moisturizer
These 5 stay in my regimen, Good Molecules Instant Cleansing Balm, Cerave Foaming Cleanser, Cerave Moisturizing Lotion, Paula’s Choice 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant, and Vanicream Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF50. But, I need more than 5 items to completely address my skincare needs. This doesn’t leave room for Vitamin C or retinol.
Have to start with my Retin’A….Tatcha water cream, Tatcha dewy cream at night, a really good eye cream
(I keep trying new ones!) Supergoop matte screen or unseen, and right now I’m using the Fresh Green Tea serum but would be open to trying another….I could go on and on………
1. Embryolisse moisturizer
2. Youth to the People Macqui facial oil
3. Tarte Maracuja eye cream
4. Boscia Purifying Cleansing Gel or Tatcha Rice Water Cleanser (which I feel is vastly overpriced but still, I like it a lot)
5. Foreo Luna Mini
I’m sorry – I have to complain again! Given the “audience” here, 5 of anything is kind of torture (especially with eye products, lip products, brushes and….oh heck, with EVERYTHING!). Most of us are not exactly “minimalists” when it comes to makeup and skin care (hair care too and fragrance) so this is almost painful!
Amen to that, Mariella! I use roughly 9-10+ SEPARATE skin/eye area/lip masks per day and especially at night!
Lol, I know, right? I can’t answer these questions, I overthink it too much because I can’t decide which five I’d choose!
I have tried, and I can’t answer either.
I’m still debating how I could chose only five lipsticks! 😉
I’ve got normal/combo skin with some acne/spots – these are my favourites (I tend to shop cruelty free at Sephora):
– Biossance Squalane & Omega Repair Cream
– Tatcha Rice Wash Cleanser
– The Ordinary Squalane Cleanse
– Sunday Riley UFO Oil
– The Ordinary 2% Retinol with Squalane
– Peace Out Acne Healing Dots
La Roche Posay Toleriane eye and face creams, as well as face wash (foaming one)
Herbivore Prism serum
Krave Great Barrier Relief
1. Avene Tolerance cleansing cream
2. Dermalogica Multi-Active Toner
3. SkinMedica TNS serum
4. Skinbetter Science Alpha-Ret
5. SuperGoop unseen sunscreen
1.) The Ordinary HA + Peptides serum (or at least that’s what I think they renamed it, it used to be “Buffet”) or a haul of The Ordinary?
2.) Drunk Elephant Kit including Protini Polypeptide Creme
3.) Farmacy Green Defense Daily Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30
4.) Dr. Dennis Gross Advanced Retinol & Ferulic Triple Concentration Eye Serum
5.) The Ordinary Retinol 1%
1) Prescription Tretinoin
2) The Ordinary Vitamin C powder
3) Waleda Skin food light
4) Lucas Papaw Ointment
5) Unseen Sunscreen
My top 5 skincare products are:
1. The Ordinary’s Moroccan Argon oil
2. A’kin Day and Night Moisturiser – which I use at night because it is so dense
3. The Inkey List’s HA Serum
4. I’m not particularly loyal to any one brand for cleansers, I prefer non foming ones and currently I’m impressed with Neutragena’s Hydro Boost Cleansing Gel
5. La Roche Posay’s Ultra Light Sunscreen 50+
Vanicream facial cleanser
Aveeno Oat Gel Moisturizer
Skin Aqua UV Moisture Essence
Adapalene
Paula’s Choice BHA 9
I tried every which way from Sunday to do this. It was SO difficult & i had to cut out A LOT! Then it was b/t my vit c or my trentinoin. So I cut out my vit c (the Nue vit c powder) bc I figure the spf should be protection enough. And the trentinoin should be able to handle all the brightening. So!
***Banila clean it zero foam (pink 1). Wonder black rice toner. Neogen airy SPF 50PA+++. Drunk Elephant Lala Retro Whip. Obagi trentinoin .05%***
Phew!
(my double cleanse) Paula’ Choice Optimal Results Hydrating Cleanser + Omega+ Complex Cleansing Balm
(SPF) Paula’s Choice Youth-Extending Daily Hydrating Fluid SPF 50
(Retinol) Paula’s Choice 1% Retinol Treatment
(Toner) Paula’s Choice Enriched Calming Toner
1. Oil/balm cleanser to remove makeup. I have repurchased the Good Molecules one several times and it does the job.
2. Gentle cleanser. I’ve tried several decent ones but CeraVe is a good option at a fair price.
3. Moisturizer. I’m on my second tub of Aveeno Calm + Restore Oat Gel Moisturizer and would repurpose again. It’s not too heavy and works well day or night.
4. Sunscreen. I’m still on the hunt for a sunscreen that checks all my boxes – SPF of at least 30, moisturizing enough to function as a moisturizer but not too greasy, cosmetically elegant and no pilling under makeup. If anyone has recommendations please pass them along! I’m currently using Cetaphil Daily Facial Moisturizer but it’s a bit thick and takes awhile to rub in.
5. Recent purchase but I’m loving the Krave Great Barrier Relief serum. It’s very soothing whenever my skin is feeling irritated and it’s a great boost to my moisturizer or sunscreen when my skin feels like it could use extra hydration. Also the small bottle has lasted me a surprisingly long time!
It’s not cheap but Lancôme spf 50 functions as both an spf and moisturizer for me. Wears great under makeup
1. elf Holy Hydration! Face Cream SPF 30
2. elf Holy Hydration! Makeup Cleansing Balm
3. Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Moisturizing Skin Therapy Oil for Face
4. Cerave Hyaluronic Acid Serum for Face
5. Olay Regenerist Retinol 24 Night Moisturizer
I put facial sunscreen in with my 5 base products so I’m skipping it here.
Ulta Collection pure jojoba oil, IT Cosmetics confidence in a cream, SheaMoisture raw shea butter soap, SheaMoisture manuka honey & yogurt body moisturizer, Mad Hippie ultra sheer body spf40+.
Next would be Urban Hydration kiwi & pomegranate micellar water and an AHA serum (right now I’m using Mad Hippie but next I might try Provence banana bliss).
1. Image skincare Vital C cleanser
2. Vital C Hydrating serum
3. Lira Mystic ILuminating Beauty oil
4. Renee Rouleau Detox Masque
5. Youth to the People Polypeptide Cream
I feel that I could have saved many hundreds, if not thousands of dollars if I had began seeing an esthetician (or dermatologist) years ago, instead of waiting until >40 . I recommend it to everyone!!! My skin has never felt or looked better!
Skincare???? Again, because I’m older and NOW see then need:
A good serum (say Estée Lauder’s Advanced Night Repair, because it’s affordable and I like)
A hydrating skin cream or gel (still haven’t found my special “go-to”)
A deep penetrating night cream (still haven’t found my special “go-to”)
And my lip balm (day or night; Laniege Lip Sleeping Mask)
