If you had a $100 gift to spend on beauty, what would you purchase?
Sonia G. brushes! To get close to the $100 mark, I’d go with Sculpt Three ($32), Builder One ($32), and Worker One ($36).

We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Another great question!
I’d repurchase the Hourglass Ambient Lighting palette that I finished late last year, a Marc Jacobs lipgloss stick, and Benefit brow gel.
Right now, in my Sephora cart is about $100 of wants: The First Aid Beauty Bendy Avocado Concealer, Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush (mini?) in Mood Exposure, Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter, and one of the Sephora Cream lipsticks in Tan Lines.
Does anyone else fill up their cart at Sephora or Ulta with things that might buy in the future and then continue to add and take away?
Yes, and not just with Sephora and Ulta. It helps keep me from impulse buying.
I do the same think as you Celesta (at Sephora). Not enough that I have a super long “Loves list” but I fill my cart, then change my mind and take out some product, then add again etc.
*thing
I also have items in my cart then when I am planning to go I look over the list and edit it.
Guerlain Abeille Youth Royale Watery Oil. I tried a sample recently and loved the way it moisturized my skin overnight with just a drop. I don’t like spending that much money on a skin product, but I’d get it if I had a gift card!
I’d pick up a set of Zoeva eyebrushes
Invest in a Natasha Denona or Pat McGrath palette for sure.
I used my Sephora points to get a $100 gift card. I am just waiting for them to release the PG Mothership V palette so I can use it towards that. I have no problem paying the additional $25 out of pocket.
Skincare. It would be skincare. I’d probably treat myself to a small jar of La Mer and with the remaining cash go in on The Ordinary. Current makeup releases are making me feel a little meh but I’m always excited for skincare!
Decisions, decisions, decisions!
I would either; set it aside and wait for the VIB Rouge sale to get the PMG Mothership 4 palette, which I am absolutely in love with.
Or, far more intelligently; put it towards much better storage/organizing units. I desperately need a better system than what I presently have going on here. I would definitely get those units that hang on the wall that many people have gotten for their ColourPop SSS’s, plus a palette holder that stores palettes in a shelf-like contraption, and a 2nd spinning lipstick tower.
So many things on my wish list, hard to choose. Well, I’d probably put toward experimenting with products to replace SK-II cellumination mask-in lotion that I’ve just learned was discontinued. I don’t have that list together yet.
Failing that: MJ highliner in Violet Femme ($25); Becca Beach Tint in Watermelon ($25); Smith large crease brush ($27); use the rest for some UD Vice lipstick. If any combination of those aren’t available I’d go next to Chanel Tisse Vendome eyeshadow quad ($61)
I would spend it at Beautylish. They have a lot of brands I love. I’m eyeing the new Hourglass ambient palette ($80). Also, I want the Smith lip brush. I have also been eyeing the Chikuhodo synthetic brushes.
Definitely some Sonia G brushes! I want some eye brushes, a highlighter brush and a bronzer brush ?
Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Filter and Dior Backstage Eyeshadow Palette (cool): $93
Probably the Charlotte Tilbury filmstar bronze & glow palette. That’s $80 CAD, so over $90 with tax. If I had to use the last $10 maybe I’d pick up a Sephora lip stories lipstick ($10 CAD) so with tax, it’d put me slightly over $100.
Why these brushes? And why this brand.
I like her brushes too (and just damaged on of mine ever so slightly and wanted to cry!) That said, I’m such the eye palette aficionado that I’d have to say either the Pat McGrath Subliminal palette that I STILL haven’t gotten (nor any other of her palettes) or the new Natasha Denona palette (coming out tomorrow).
I would buy Limecrimes Venus 3 palette! And another of their diamond crusher lip toppers (I think I want a bluish one or maybe the one called unicorn?). I would be tempted to try a new foundation but haven’t decided what one, or just get another of my MUFE ultra HD foundation sticks as back up. Any remaining money will probably be spent on Nyx and Barry M
I’d put it toward the Mothership V Eyeshadow Palette Bronze Seduction Palette.
I would put it towards a PMG palette.
Maybe a Natasha Denona palette or try some Charlotte Tilby.
More Sonia G brushes, definitely the fan brushes! I’m in love with her brushes. I’ve bought two each of the worker brushes and another builder brush. Also trying to scoop up the Tom Ford natural brushes, because he has already brought his synthetic brushed out into the stores. I have two 100.00 gift cards that I’ve bought from my Sephora points, planning to use them for the holiday palettes coming out and give as gifts…. will try to anyway ?? Maybe one for the new ND Safari palette.
I would purchase some more Designer Brands foundation, a NARS Audacious lipstick in Olivia and a blush – although I am not sure which one, as long as it’s in a peachy shade.
Olivia is a def yes for you, believe me. Those deep and brown reds in Audacious are my corner of the universe. It’d be stunning on you.
A Pat McGrath ES palette.
A Fresh Glow Highlighter in White by Burberry $68 and a Bare Minerals Invisible Bronze Bronzer $28
On skin care, a good hair colorist. Just got a nice haircut today. Manicure/pedicure if that counts. A massage.
One of the Fenty lip glosses, the Dr Jart Cicapair Color Correcting repair something something SPF 50, and whatever decent eye cream I could afford with the remainder. 🙂
I would buy Natasha Denona mini lila palette, hourglass luminous bronze light bronzer and NARS velvet glide lipstick or Huda beauty liquid lipstick .
Perfume!
Probably some skincare that I consider out of my budget, like an expensive eye cream or serum.
Dr. Brandt Radiance Revitalizing Foam, it’s $90 Canadian so maybe a case for my Beauty Blender for $16 that would put me over $6 plus tax of course.
No great excitement, but prob restock the ordinary from Beautylish, as the two are parting company, no longer at Sephora, and who knows if Ulta dares to pick the ordinary up. Good stuff cheap, but so much drama with the company/ founder.
I like The Ordinary also! What are your favorite products?
Christine, I can’t seem to find your Sonia G brush reviews and I swear you did them!
I only did first impressions.
