Huda Beauty Coral Obsessions Eyeshadow Palette Review, Photos, Swatches
Coral
Huda Beauty Coral Obsessions Eyeshadow Palette ($27.00 for 0.35 oz.) is a brighter, richer, warm-toned set of nine shades that lean a little more coral and pink than orange or brown. It was easy to work with, and there were plenty of mattes (seven to be exact), so there was no shortage of transition and crease shades to choose from.
I actually would have preferred another shimmer or greater differentiation between the two shimmer shades. I’d also say that #3 and #8 are too close for a single palette, even though I can see slight tonal differences (#3 is pinker, #8 is more orange) that become more obvious when blended out. Otherwise, it felt like a cohesive palette that was good quality and a cinch to use.

Coral #1
Coral #1 is a medium coral with a pinker base and warmer, golden-copper shimmer paired with a metallic finish. The texture was soft, slightly looser, but it was very blendable and easy to pat and press onto the lid for opaque color coverage that stayed on well for nine hours.

Coral #2
Coral #2 is a rich, pinky-red with subtle, warm undertones and a matte finish. It had fantastic pigmentation with a soft, silky texture that wasn’t too powdery nor was it too thin, so it applied well to bare skin and blended out effortlessly without losing its vibrancy. It wore well for eight and a half hours on me (but didn’t stain).

Coral #5
Coral #5 is a soft peach with warm, orange undertones and a matte finish. It had semi-opaque, buildable pigmentation with a soft, silky texture but was more powdery, which made it prone to sheering out and having a bit of fallout when blended. Despite the powderiness, it didn’t turn other shades gray, which can sometimes be a concern. It stayed on well for eight hours on me.

Coral #7
Coral #7 is a medium yellow with warmer undertones and a matte finish. The eyeshadow had nearly opaque pigmentation that applied evenly and smoothly on my skin. The texture felt finely-milled and velvety with enough substance that it adhered well on bare skin and didn’t have to have a primer underneath it to actually appear true-to-pan. It was easy to blend out and wore well for eight hours on me.

Coral #8
Coral #8 is a medium, pink-coral with warm undertones and a matte finish. The color payoff was nearly opaque and built up to full coverage with less than a half of a layer more–the type of pigmentation that didn’t feel under-pigmented in practice as I blended and built up the color naturally in a look. The texture was smooth, velvety, and finely-milled with a touch of powderiness n the pan, but it didn’t result in fallout and remained easy to blend out. It wore well for eight hours on me before fading a bit.

Coral #9
Coral #9 is a rich, medium pink-coral base with warmer, gold shimmer that gave it a metallic finish and warmed up the overall look of it. The consistency was smooth, moderately dense and had light slip that helped it adhere well to bare skin. It had rich color payoff that stayed on well for almost nine hours on me before I saw faint creasing.

I am very excited to see your review on this! The swatches you did looked very promising so I am happy to see that it performed well! I wanted to get this palette to pair with the Too Faced Just Peachy Mattes. I think the two would be fun to play with. I was concerned with the colors running together a bit, but seeing it action has changed my mind!
I can’t wait for this one to be released in Australia!!! I really enjoyed the warm brown version of this one. It’s great for travelling!
If you can’t wait for Sephora to get it try Cult Beauty! They always have coupons available so you can get it for 15% off.
This has such lovely quality to it and great pigmentation! I do wish that it would’ve had another shimmery shade, too. Like an icy yellow, perhaps?
Oh, I think that would have been a lovely shade!
I think a shimmery gold would have rounded this out quite nicely. It is lovely, but I have so many of these shades already…
Stunning look and beautiful palette, maybe on my list later in the year (summer time!). Something tells me that with the ND Sunset palette, a number of these will be dupes, but what I like is that it’s compact and thus a good travel choice.
Stunning palette for those who love this shade. I also think that perhaps a couple of contrast shades could have been included and also a satin finish on some of the colours.
However it is a lovely palette.
I looooove this palette! I hadn’t bought any warm-toned palettes yet because most of them were a lot of browns/beige and just weren’t wearable for me, and this one with all pink/coral is exactly what I was waiting for.
This palette is so out of my comfort zone but I was driven to purchase it, although I haven’t received it yet. I was attracted to the shades even though I don’t use them often and the fact that the palette is so warm toned and I have just been lamenting over and over again about not needing any more warm shadows. Having said all that, I am so happy it received good reviews. Time and again I promise myself I won’t buy anything until Christine has reviewed it and I pretty much live by that but every once in awhile I go off the rails and order something and sometimes it turns out okay and other times, not so much. I think that not only did I get lucky with this palette but looking at the beautiful eye look you got, Christine, I think it is going to work for me.
Would you say that this is really similar to the Colourpop Yes Please palette? I really want to buy this one but I already have Yes Please!

Thank you Christine! You’re always so thurough ?
Looks to me that the Yes Please Colourpop palette is more complete and a better deal.
When I first saw this I thought, “these are my kinda shades!”. Which turned out to be completely correct because I can dupe most of it LOL
I stand corrected: I can dupe ALL of it LOL
Very pretty, but given that I have Colour Pop’s Yes Please palette, I feel happy about giving this a miss.
The shades are lovely and with little overlap in what I own. I have a tendency with palettes like this to choose shades (within and outside the palette) that amplify already bright shades (like 2 and 9) rather than to compliment them or even dull them slightly. Bright pink and bright orange are current challenges. I’d welcome any advice!
These colors are so beautiful that I’m tempted to try it but I know it would make me look like I have a communicable eye disease ?
Same here.
This kit screams summer to me
Hi Christine, isn’t it a more or less dupe of “yes please” palette from colourpop ?
The range of coulours make me think of it .
https://www.temptalia.com/palette-vs-palette/?palette_1_search=Colour+Pop+Yes%2C+Please%21&palette_1=301456&palette_2_search=Huda+Beauty+Coral&palette_2=340071
I am so over warm browns and oranges… I think that at this point people who like them or on whom they look flattering already own a bunch of dupes. (personally when I wear reddish tones on my eyes I look like a rabbit with myxomatosis)
I think I pass… I have ABH soft glam, TheBalm Nude Beach, Maybelline Burgundy bar and Revolution Chocolate palettes (have several but I think Rosegold is what pops up). I have enough reds, orange and bronzy shades to make this kind of looks
I saw it while I was checking out last time I went to Sephora, wanted it so bad but decided to wait for your review ❤!!
I’m really happy you gave it a good review; the colors speak to me, especially#9… Totally going to buy it next time.
#9 the type of shade I always picking up in single shadows. lol But it’s a go-to for me.
I’m a sucker for corals so I love that it has a good rating! I think they could have replaced one of the matte coral shades with a gold and this one would have been PERFECT!
I wish I didn’t already have dupes, this looks lovely! Perfect for summertime! If anything, I wish it had a dark brown or burgundy or something to add more dimension, but most people on here probably have a shade like that they could bring in anyway.
What an utterly beautiful palette! I have CP Yes, Please, though, so I’ll probably skip it.
Someone noted that it was made in PRC and claimed they noticed a quality difference from the other palettes. We’re they just biased? Lol
It’ll be hard to pass on the Bad Habit dupe of this, whenever it’s released! These colors are so pretty, especially #9.
Beautiful palette, I love this shades.
The amount of dupes I have for this palette is hilarious. It’s a clear skip for me, but I am happy the quality is good.
