Influencer
Hourglass Influencer GIRL Lip Stylo ($32.00 for 0.09 oz.) is a soft, medium brown with subtle, rosy undertones and a natural sheen. It had semi-opaque, buildable pigmentation that covered the lips with even, smooth color. The texture was creamy, lightweight, and easy to work with as the color glided across the lips. It softened the look of a lot of my lip lines, too, which gave my lips a more hydrated, plumper appearance. The color lasted for four hours on me, and the formula felt hydrating over time.
The GIRL Lip Stylo formula is supposed to have “modern color with luxurious hydration for a lustrous finish,” while the brand founder is quoted (on Sephora) stating, “I can build as much–or as little–color as I like.” I would describe the coverage semi-opaque and buildable, which seemed to fit the brand’s description. The consistency was smooth, creamy, and lightweight, but the color still adhered well to the lips (three to five hours, depending on the shade). I definitely felt like I could apply a little here, a little there, and then spread the color out by pressing my lips together for sheerer coverage, or I could apply a single layer and get semi-opaque coverage fairly easily. The formula was incredibly comfortable to wear: lightweight, hydrating, and smoothing. Some balm-like formulas that have more coverage can sit in lip lines, but I felt like these filled them and made them look softer. I didn’t notice any scent or taste.

Inventor
Hourglass Inventor GIRL Lip Stylo ($32.00 for 0.09 oz.) is a medium-dark plum with warm undertones and a natural finish. It had semi-opaque, buildable color coverage paired with a creamy, lightweight, and lightly emollient consistency. The texture was thin enough that it didn’t slide around or feel slippery on the lips, while it did not emphasize the texture of my lips either. This shade wore just over four hours on me, and the formula was comfortable and moisturizing to wear.

Explorer
Hourglass Explorer GIRL Lip Stylo ($32.00 for 0.09 oz.) is a medium coral with warm, orange undertones and a cream finish. It had mostly opaque pigmentation that covered the lips fairly evenly, but this was one of the few shades that had room for improvement with respect to application. I think the slight streakiness was due to the consistency being more emollient and a touch thicker, so it slid around more on the lips, even though it certainly felt comfortable on the lips–rather balm-like. The color wore well for four hours on me and was moisturizing.

Inventor is a stunning shade on you. I love it. I must get at least one of these babies
Thank you, Jovana! xo
Wow, this sounds like an interesting product!
It is nice!
Oh man! I am just dying to get my hands on these! Influencer and Inventor I am coming for you! (You look gorgeous as always Christine! 🙂 )
Aww, thank you Divya!
These colors look great on you, Christine, but probably wouldn’t look so good on me. That’s OK, I’m glad there are a few of these that I *don’t* want 😉
Haha! It would probably be unreasonable to buy all 😉
Influencer is a beautiful shade!! Love the names and appreciate the fact that they are so empowering unlike some of NARS’ product names!
Me too! The names are great.
Influencer and Explorer are going on my list to check out in-store. Either or both could be very nice neutral/every day for spring.
p.s. — just checked, several of these are already sold out on Sephora, and yet not in-stores yet (at least at my two local Sephoras). Hopefully they’ll be restocked online a/o put into stores at some point.
Fingers crossed both will work for you when you are able to see them!
Inventor is luscious! It has an almost lip plumping effect to its finish. So now I’m like, should I stick with one of 2 Shiseido dupes that I’ve been drooling over, Red Queen or Rose Crush, or this one? Decisions!
Influencer looks lovely, too. But I likely either have something similar or am about to!
I find this type of finish to be SO flattering on lips – the glossiness seems to make lips appear healthier!
I agree! Sorry but some of those ultra matte liquid lipsticks make lips look like shriveled prunes, but these make lips look luscious and plump
Inventor is really nice. It’s a little light/warm for me but I might have to get it. Unfortunately, my Sephora is only offering a few of the nude shades 🙁
Feel like I just dodged a bullet here! all are very pretty, but have dupes already, glad they scored well for those interested
Wow I JUST realized these are priced really high for Hourglass! I would’ve expected more in the $20 something range! (Especially being a crayon type lipstick) but that being said I really love Influencer!! Such a perfect everyday shade for me, I’d get a ton of wear out of it so I may have to grab it! I have a handful of dupes but the way you described the formula for this one sounds amazing.
