Discover a new way to blush: this groundbreaking hybrid combines the customized lighting effects of Ambient Lighting Powder with a spectrum of breathtakingly modern hues. The result is seamless, soft-focus and multidimensional color.

Ambient Lighting Blush ($35.00) (New, Permanent)

Hourglass has fused Ambient Lighting Powder, the cutting-edge collection of finishing powders, with an array of vivid cheek colors, creating a hybrid product that is unique, contemporary and revolutionary. Unlike traditional blush, which tends to be flat, Ambient Lighting Blush uses Photoluminescent Technology to exhibit depth and dimension. The airy, lightweight powders contain optically transparent particles that amplify the colors to a multi-dimensional level—effectively reinventing the way you view blush. The state-of-the-art formula means that its full potential is only displayed on application. The hand-made powders are formulated using an advanced miscelare technique—which means “to mix” in Italian—creating the perfect balance of pigment and powder, and no two look alike. Delivers a radiant natural finish and offers buildable color. Ambient Lighting Blush is designed to be paired with Ambient Lighting Powder. Using the two products together imbues the entire complexion with an otherworldly glow. The six shades, which range from soft coral to cool pink, are a wardrobe of captivating accent lights for cheeks. Free of parabens, talc, fragrance, nanoparticles and gluten. No Animal Testing.

  • Radiant Magenta A golden fuchsia blush combined with Radiant Light for a summer glow
  • Mood Exposure A soft plum blush fused with Mood Light to brighten the complexion

wow! i saw that promo image and immediately thought ‘HOLY CRAP!’ i don’t know if a promo image has ever provoked such a reaction in me before! lol. they look amazing, i hope they turn out to be so!

Dang it! I’ve been on a no buy since the new year and been doing great. I’m selfishly hoping these suck when you review them, but I just know they will be fabulous! I know i will be asking for nothing but Sephora gift cards for my birthday!

Stephanie Avatar

OH god yes!! I am definitely going to work on finishing my current blush now!! I’m on maternity leave so I’m only buying replacement products while I am not being paid. I wonder when it will be released in australia.

I’m in HEAVEN!!!! I already have three of the Ambient powders and now they are coming out with blush shades. I can’t wait to see these babies in person. I want them all!!! lol

Claudia Fox Avatar

Wow they look beautiful! See now I’m kinda glad that I didn’t buy the ambient lighting palette because I’m guessing at some point they will bring out another trio and include one of these blushes, well I’m hoping so anyway 🙂 I will be looking forward to your swatches and review.

Christina Avatar

Hmm, these look like baked blushes to me, which would produce the marble effect. I’m guessing these are Hourglass’ version of it. The reference to Italy and hand mixing tips me off.

Still, so pretty! I am definitely buying at least one shade. Exciting! 🙂

I just drove 2 1/2 hours from work through a NYC blizzard (and I left early!). Cars, trucks, and SUVs sliding all over the place. I’m shaking like a leaf. When I got home and calmed down a bit, I made a cup of tea and opened up my IPad to see this – Hourglass Spring blushes! Christine, you sure know how to make a girl feel better (lol). I can’t wait to see these beauties in person.

Farida Avatar

OMG, this has my name written all over them. I am getting them all, lol!!! I can’t wait. I hope they deliver the same results as the ambient powders.

BlendItOut Avatar

Wow! Based solely on these pics, I want them all! They each offer something different and special. At the same time, the combinations are endless. I can’t wait to learn more!

I’m loving the 3rd, 4th, & 5th ones down (ie, the “safe” colors, LOL!). I’ m not sure I *need* any more blush, but then again, not “needing” something has never stopped me…

I swear that I heard Dies Ire start playing as soon as the page image loaded.

And lo, the Ambient Blush did appear upon the horizon, and yea, the legion of beauty worshipers did cry unto the heavens, “NOOOOOOOO!” and did plead with their wallets. But the wallets were unforgiving, and such weeping did commence.

And mean, what?

Genevieve Avatar

Soooo gorgeous… Must…have…them…all! Thank God they are permanent- that’s all I have to say about that! If they are anything like the ambient powders that inspired them- these are going to be some seriously, off the charts, amazing blushes.

Kelly Avatar

What I’m about to say is so shocking I can hardly believe it’s coming out of my mouth, or fingers. ‘Wow, those look like total dupes for the Milani baked blushes!’

There, I said it. Phew. Not that I’m a big fan of Milani, but I have tried their baked blushes and they are fabulous. Not sure Hourglass, even with their genius, can convince me to buy a product that looks identical to one hanging pretty at CVS.

Alice Avatar

I think I will wait on these, as hard as that is. My bet is that they will come out with a holiday palette of these, then they shall be mine.

Melissa Avatar

Oh my goodness I am beyond excited to see these make their debut! I now know what I will have on my wish list for Valentines Day 🙂 Can’t wait to see the review and swatches from you Christine!

Chelle Avatar

These are wayyyy too pretty. And FINALLY, a marbled effect that actually makes SENSE. I can totally see mixing blush with the ambient lighting powders… unlike MAC’s mineralize swirled eyeshadows where it just ends up turning into one silvery/grey blob time after time after time!

Hannah Avatar

Hi Christine!
I was just wondering if you could share some advice on what shade of blush one should choose. I’m nw20/25 (from mac) and I like the cool pink and coral but I’m a blush newbie and I’m not sure how those would look with my skin color!
Thanks!

Christine Avatar

Hi Hannah,

NW20/25 suggests that you are cool-toned, so cool pinks should definitely work on you! I believe you can rock anything you really want, but in terms of what tends to work “best,” so-to-speak, then you’ll want to look for corals that lean pink rather than orange – peach or pink corals.

Hannah Avatar

Thanks Christine!
Just one more question. I was looking up how to tell your undertone type and it says to look at the veins. If I have blue veins in my wrist but green veins on my hands, does that mean I’m both? While I do find that cooler colors work best on me clothes wise, I find that warm colors on my lips and eyes work better. Is being both even a possibility?

Larissa Avatar

OMG… These went on sale today about half an hour ago, and they sold out in about 20 minutes. I managed to snag the Radiant Magenta before they went. They say they’ll restock daily, so all those ladies who missed it, just keep refreshing the site once a day!

Larissa Avatar

Unbelievably fast! I originally wanted Diffused Heat, but I’ll take what I can get… I know I’ll find a way to rock it no matter which I ended up getting. (Of course, my wallet is crying, but what else is new)
