Hit List: Best Cool-Toned Highlighter

What’s the Best Cool-Toned Highlighter that you’ve tried?

Share your pick! Β And don’t forget to share why πŸ™‚

NARS Albatross is almost like a cooler-toned white gold, while Koh Gen Do’s IL00 is like a white pearl. Often, I think if someone wants a cooler-toned highlighter, they’re better off looking for a shimmery pink or lavender blush and use it lightly as a highlighter.

Did you manage to snare Vice LTD Christine? It’s already sold out but I would still love to see some swatches to whet my appetite before mine arrives at my door πŸ˜€

On topic, I think that MAC Lightscapade shows up as rather cool-toned on my skin but that might just be because I got a lot of blue veins in mine.

NARS Albatross! It’s always suggested that women of my complexion (NW47) shouldn’t wear this color. LIES! I rock this highlighter well! The key is to blend. πŸ˜‰

I co-sign. I’m NC50 and Albatross is on regular rotation. If I had a dollar for every type of false/bad makeup advice I read/hear re: what women of color should or can’t wear, I could retire early.

It is amazing how you and I share the same likes and dislikes in products. I am also an NC50 with golden/yellow undertone. Love Fetish lipstick!!

Becca SSP in pearl, it’s neutral but it looks great on cool toned people. Runner up is NARS Copacabana which is cool and icy without looking ashy.

My all-time favourite is probably Guerlain Cruel Gardenia. It’s not terribly cool, but just a bit. I also really like Hourglass Incandescent Light.

Bouncing off of your suggestions that one might be better off looking for a shimmering pink or lavender blush to use as I highlighter, I recently tested out Cargo’s Blush in Bali which is a shimmery pink and offers a great blush/highlight combo. πŸ™‚

Becca Shimmering Spotlights (in the tube). I have the 3 piece set in Pearl, Champagne Gold, and Opal. I was thrilled because the pearl white wasn’t too stark, the gold wasn’t too warm or too yellow , and the Opal (which looks like a light copper in the tube) wasn’t too warm, bronzey, or orangey. The shimmer is subtle and natural-looking, more like a glow, and doesn’t emphasize my pores. And at $25 for 3 tubes, it’s a steal. It’s out of stock at Sephora, but Ulta still has the set.

I just picked up the trio today, LOL! It really is a steal, considering 1 full-size is $40-ish, and from what I’ve heard/read, a little goes a looong way. I had completely forgotten about ot, but accidentally stumbled upon it in-store while looking for another product.

I actually use HG Ambient Lighting Powder in Mood Exposure. I am very happy with how it looks on me, at least in the winter. It might be too light for me in the summer.

I don’t use cool-toned highlighters as much. I like Cindy Lou-manizer and the lavender highlighter out of bhcosmetic’s Forever Glam palette. I need to expand my collection on this item, so I’m excited to read what others are using.

NARS Copacabana or Luxor Multiples. As for powder, I’m a big fan of Revlon Pure Pear eyeshadow, which is long DC’d-fortunately, I have 5 back-ups!

Estee’s Modern Mercury, which is Superb by MAC. Those are my favorites. But I almost always highlight with shine instead of color so then it doesn’t matter what your undertone is πŸ™‚ A little moisturizer, Vaseline, etc. lol

I will never understand why, when asked about CURRENT products, people will almost always list products that are discontinued. HOWdoes that actually help ANYONE looking for “The Best Cool Toned Highlighter”

To add, I actually love Laura Geller’s highlighters French Vanilla, Golden Rose & Portofino. I don’t like the rest of her line (except her Spackle primer) but her highlighters are great. Can get at ULTA & OVC.

I’m not asking for readers to only give answers for what someone can buy today – just what their favorite is from what they’ve personally tried – simple πŸ™‚ Products that are LE or discontinued can often still be found if one really wants it, and even if not, sometimes it’s a good place to start looking for dupes and the like. Not to mention, what might be current on this very date may very well be discontinued next week!

I really like the idea of cool highlighters because I want to look otherworldly and vaguely alien whenever possible! NARS Copacabana was my go-to for the longest time.

I love Nars Albatross and I also like Mac’s Mineralized Skinfinish in Perfect Topping. It’s cool toned for my dark skin. I like to pair it with neutral toned or cooler berry toned blushes. It gives a subtle pink iridescence to my cheeks.

Yes! You should also check out theBalm highlighters. A lot of people sleep on them, but I love all three of them including their newest one in Cindy Lou-Manizer. It has a pink tone…LOVE IT!

I’m guilty of sleeping on theBalm too, yet I love their packaging. Mary Lou looks like my kinda girl, but I never take her home because I feel like I have dupes (lol). I’ll take your suggestion and try the “Lous” out…thanks Queen!

I like to use Dainty Doll’s lavender blush as a highlighter. Its a great dupe for Mac’s prep and prime lavender powder Illuminate. I also love Mac’s Play it Proper from years back

I am NW 10-15 (usually 13), so know the need for “cool” highlighters…
