Guerlain Terra Ora Sculpting Powder & Contrast Highlighter
Guerlain Terra Ora Sculpting Powder & Contrast Highlighter
Guerlain Terra Ora Sculpting Powder & Contrast Highlighter ($72.00 for 0.56 oz.) is described as a “plearly white gold” and “matte beige.” The center shade is a lightened gold with warm, yellowy undertones and a frosted shimmer. bareMinerals The Shining Moment is darker. Chanel Routes des Indes is yellower. Guerlain Terracotta in the Sun is slightly yellower and more metallic. The outer ring is a light-medium orange tan with a satiny sheen–it didn’t look quite matte to me, even after trying to brush away at it. MAC Double Definition is a bit darker and browner. Illamasua Writhe is a stronger gold sheen. Swirled together, you end up with a golden, medium orange-tan with a soft, frosted sheen. Chanel Sable Beige is browner. Urban Decay Gilded is darker. NARS Satellite of Love is slightly darker and more sparkly.
I applied the center shade as a highlighter on the top of my cheekbone, while then applying the bronzer shade below the cheekbone and slightly below to contour. The highlighter is very similar to my skin tone, but it seemed to be true-to-pan in color though slightly translucent. The bronzing shade had good color payoff and applied smoothly on the skin. Both shades had a soft, velvety feel with a finely-milled texture that made it easy to blend the powder on the skin. I noticed a very, very slight emphasis of the skin’s natural texture with the highlighter shade. Terra Ora wore well for seven and a half hours, and after eight, there was a little fading. The powder comes in a wooden compact with a magnetic closure, and it has a powdery, floral scent that’s moderate in strength.

Nothing special. I don’t think it’s worth the $72.00
Gorgeous, too bad im too dark NC(Coal) for this goodness!
Gorgeous! And Christine – that lip color looks great on you!
Oh wow, I love how this looks! I thought it’d be very shimmery, but it actually turned out really wearable. So lovely on your skin tone!
PS: Cosmic Bliss and Forbidden Flower looks SO good on you I think Forbidden Flower is going straight on my wish list! I’m waiting for my Island Blossom to arrive. High expectations for that one as well!
Oops — I’m actually wearing Island Blossom here 🙂
OH EXCELLENT! Now I really really can’t wait to see it!
Wow, I love everything in your picture, the Guerlain powder (which looks absolutely divine btw) the Edward Bess eye shadows combined with the eye liner and that Edward Bess lippie! It’s one of the new shades right? I want it so badly now ^^
If this didn’t have the usual Guerlain scent, I would really want it! I wish they would make unscented products for those with sensitivities.
The last time I used it, I noticed that I could see just a tiny bit of the pan in my beloved Guerlain Terra Inca Radiant Powder from two years back, so I was kind of hoping this would be similar. Sadly, it looks warmer/ browner and lacks that slightly rosy tone that made Terra Inca perfect for me. Looks like a beautiful powder, though.
That price is going to kill my wallet, but that design and color is just spot on beautiful. What a gorgeous piece! It looks stunning on you as well. Seriously, I can’t take my eyes off of it.
Arghhh not enough color for my dark skin. I was hoping it’d act more like a bronzer. *saves money* But it looks nice on you though!
better yet.. what is on your LIPS?!
k nvm just found the info, its so pretty!
Oops — I’m actually wearing Island Blossom here 🙂
Looks amazing!!!
I’ve never tried any of the products from this brand. The price just turned me off. I’m just waiting for a product that would make me willing to spend some cash.
How can you carry of every shade of lipstick with so ease and grace? every thing looks so perfect on you Christine I am so jealous of you 😛
Thanks for all the reviews, am a beginner and have been following you for a while.. Sincere thanks for all the good work you do, appreciate you effort.
Thank you, Vasavi! 🙂
Hmm…$72 seems a bit much for a bronzer and highlighter to me. But it looks nice and dewy on your skin!
Really pretty in the pan, but I don’t use bronzer enough to justify the price tag.
This looks like it was made with you in mind… so flattering The compact is very pretty, but a pass for me.
Super pretty but I still think the Terra Inca is the absolute pinacle of Guerlian bronzer perfection…
Great pictures!
How does it compare to Terra Inca Guerlain powder?
Thanks x
It is less brown and a lot less shimmery!
I love the concept (contour *and* highlight in one place), and it is very pretty, but it seems a bit too warm for my liking. If I come upon it, I’m willing to give it a go, but I’m not too hopeful.
This looks so pretty on you, Christine! Will you be doing a review on the Edward Bess Cosmic Bliss palette? I’ve had my eye on that one for a while. Would love to know what you think! 😉
I love the design and it looks lovely on you, Christine. But I think this may be a bit too warm for me. Plus I just bought the Terracotta Four Seasons bronzer, so I can’t see shelling out $72 for a similar product right now!
I love this on you, Christine! Glad it got an A-, because this is the type of product I’ll buy just for the design alone. 😀
Oh love this. It’s so pretty. Definitely want this!
Omg!! $72.00 !!!! Sorry, waaayyy too much for any makeup
This looks so pretty, but I’m afraid it would be too orange-y for my skin tone.
Do you think your lipstick makes it look a little more orange?
(I love the look on you, but I’m trying to figure out if I could tweak it for me 🙂 )
I don’t think it does – it has a rather orange-y coloring to it all on its own; if you mix it with more of the gold, then you might find it is less orange!
Hi Christine!
Would you say Terra Ora mixed together is similar in color to Tom Ford Fire Lust? Also luv your foundation. Which one are you wearing and what setting powder?
Fire Lust is slightly pinker, less orange!
Looks amazing! Which brush works the best with it?
I use a blush brush!
Thx :)!
Hi Christine, Im thinking this is the same or almost the same with their previous limited edition that I own the Terra Inca which came out 2 years ago. Can you tell me theres a difference? Thanks
It is less brown and a lot less shimmery!
