Guerlain Noir G de Guerlain Mascara Launches

Guerlain Noir G de Guerlain Mascara

As reported by WWD, Guerlain will debut its newest mascara–Noir G de Guerlain–in January 2012. If you’re familiar with the Rouge G de Guerlain Lipsticks, the packaging will seem familiar. The “tubes” are made of Zamac with black lacquer. WWD mentions that both products’ packaging has mirrors and is refillable (could it be? Rouge Gs will be refillable in 2012?).

The Noir G formula is designed to lengthen and curl lashes, provide lash regeneration with artemia salina, and stimulate the production of keratin. It is also scented with peach, rose, jasmine, and white musk. Noir G will retail for $49.00 ($26.00 for refills), and it will launch initially at Saks Fifth Avenue on December 26th and roll out to other locations in January.

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Seriously, exactly what I was thinking. First of all you couldn’t really smell it on your eyes (and if you could it must be strong) second I don’t know if I want perfume near my eyeballs…that sounds like it’d sting if I got it in my eye.

I really don’t understand the need for a METAL MASCARA TUBE. Like the kind of metal you use for making zippers and/or other industrial-type stuff.

Also, fragrance + eyes = bad bad bad.

To me the best part of this article is news that we could have refills of the Rouge G by 2012! *crossing fingers and taking care the 4 G’s are scratch free*

I would LOVE to try this.
I would pay $20, maybe even $30 for a mascara….. but I cannot do $50. I think that’s a little ridiculous. Why so expensive? Is it REALLY worth it? What makes it better than a cheaper mascara?

I feel the same way. $5o for mascara is ridiculous and not because I can’t afford it, but because it would be on my conscience! lol…. Sorry can’t bring myself to spend so much on mascara. I’ll stick to Hypnose. :-))
